Do you guys in /jp/ happen to know where to get kotatsu in scandinavian countries?
+ what kind of heater I should use if I'm planning
to make one myself?

>> No.1846845

go to google and try for example:
"japan life international"

>> No.1848655

Japan life international is quite expensive.
I wonder if theres heater units for sale in eBay or in some
local store that can be used as kotatsu heaters. Allso what kind of cloth is that futon? I'm planning to have made it at local shop with floor pillows too.

>> No.1848683

Kotatsu in Scandinavia would fry your balls because houses here have this thing called heat insulation and central warming.

>> No.1848701

Kotatsu is for people who don't have central heating and live in houses that literally have no heat retention hope this helps.

Basically the opposite of traditional scandinavian homes. Enjoy looking like a giant white dork I guess.

It's a basic polyester coated, 80 poly/20 cotton inner blanket and under padding.

Also, save yourself the expense/effort of a heater and get a length of ducting (the round, pliable type) and run it from near a heater vent to under the table. A lot of people in Japan have been doing that to save on electricity (I just put my kerosene heater near one end and lift the blankets up, that works too).

I know about that, but I find it neat and in my place theres only these giant metal things on the wall that leaks, breaks and suck ass. Floor is awfully cold too, and walls even colder so it would be nice to sit under kotatsu during winter, and it takes less room than ordinary table, and thats good for small apartments.

>> No.1848733

Scandinavians shouldn't need to sit under a table like pansies to stay warm. Either they bear with the cold like men, or they go out and skin animals.
