sad that this thread isn't taking hold. I have been, albeit slowly, going through classic filmmakers; Kurosawa, Kobayashi, Ichikawa, ect.
I just watched Kagemusha and I enjoyed that film. I hear Heaven and Earth is another good film about Takeda Shingen, can anyone recommend it?
One film I have been trying to find is Ichikawa Kon's olympics documentary but I can't find it for free anywhere.

Yes enjoyed it so far. Despite the title, it's not really romance but about a guy plotting to be rich via time travel. Each episode also comes with a separate spin off drama showing what happened to the world after the mc dies.

Kisarazu is a real city in Chiba Prefecture. "Yassai Mossai" often danced in the drama which is kitsch even from the viewpoint of Japanese also really exists in Kisarazu.
And Kisarazu is also often used as a location for dramas and commercials.

Season 1 The Hero Yoshihiko 1 - And The Demon King's Castle

KDramas have the benefit of most of their shows getting officially licensed and subbed. SO few dramas get that treatment. The only dramas to do so this season (that I'm aware of) are Haru ga Kita, Mob Psycho 100, and Kuragehime. And those have their own unique cases, Haru ga Kita stars a popular korean, Mob Psycho was co-produced with Netflix, and Kuragehime is only licensed in Asia.

>what are you watching this season?
This season I'm watching: anone, Unnatural, Todome no Kiss, and BG. I tried Final Cut, Repeat, Kuragehime, and Kakegurui but wasn't too into them. BG doesn't impress me much either but I'm sticking with cause I like a lot of the actors in it (not KimuTaku) and subs are slow as is. Unnatural is my very favourite of the crop, but I tend to really like Akiko Nogi's dramas. It also helps it has a Kenshi Yonezu theme, an artist I'm quite fond of.

comedy, not treating viewer as an idiot the way most dramas do (explaining th emost obvious plot references to past episodes etc), good acting, nice OP song

If you aren't specific to dramas, probably most mystery light/novels written by Nisio.
It's hard to find mystery mixed with chuuni stuff written to appeal to general audience besides Nisio stuff. You could probably try Moryo no Hako but it's an anime adaptation, not a live action. Or you could try watching Subete ga F ni naru.

Todome no Kiss is about a guy who works as a host and tries to woo a rich heiress in interest of her fortune. The part that adds an interesting spin to it, is that there's another girl and whoever she kisses ends up dying and going back to the past.

What I posted was Todome no Parallel. It was a web series that aired on Hulu after the end of every episode and detailed the lives of the worlds after the person that girl kissed, died.
