You aren't limited to those, really just use a ''game CG'' tag in your search and scroll through the galleries. Nukige with standing portraits+variations will often have hundreds of images in the gallery because of it, tipping you off which might have a set. Some uploaders upload the game's gallery but cut out all the portraits to keep the gallery small, and you might find them looking for the same game's CG on a different site.

I just went all in man, every level up. Worked out just fine for me so far, the magic damage added afterwards is almost twice as high as the physical damage I inflict. I also got a couple pets with element scar that have full lightning on their weapons, lot of zapping going around here. Loss player living on the edge here. Wear a prevent TP item against the pull and shadowstep towards visible alkonost/maneki to straight up kill them ASAP. Crabs pull more enemies but stay put, so you don't have to worry about the timer. For the teleporting alks, I'd clear the map with houzanha beforehand to not lose sight of them. Inflicting ailments should stop them from teleporting. Sometimes they will use death song against neutrals off-screen and kill themselves before you even meet them. It helps to have a bunch of pets that can also shadowstep, as you can surround and mince them as a group. 43 turns should be enough time, be aggressive. Also once you get strong enough and level up your holy veil, due to the way hex success chance works you should almost never be affected by the death song

1. guns are better at close range than in long range.
2. make sure you got relevant skills. markmenship is amust, and control magic if you plan on using AoE spells.
3. never tried a volly, but unless you planing on having a full brigade of 15 rangers there are better uses for your gauge
4. if all your pet does is tanking it will never level up. you will need rangers that can compete with you on kills, not tanks that will eventually get outmatched by your raw level. make a heavy armored ranger, or at least one with a whip/chainsickle.
5. starter pet+ god pet should be enough really. if you encounter issues, recruit as needed. pets die too fast? tag them, better their armor, get a healing pet...
not leveling fast enough? costum AI to let them act more. or put them on the right side of tag so they won't waste breath on silly stuff like walking. play and see what you lack.

So it's not a flat amount but scales by the weapon, which I assume the average of #d# is chosen.
Going by that at level 9 or 10 living weapon before bleeding starts you could have 180% or 200% damage output from the magic procs extra.
Pretty neat if you can manage to get a frequent enough proc rate.

'it deals x dmg' has 100% proc rate. the only way for it not to proc if weapon dmg killed it before mag dmg had a chance to do so.

Your Strength gain will be abysmal compared to your other stats because you have no skill to actively train it if you don't melee. Weight lifting is the only thing that trains it. This isn't particularly a problem unless Ano decides to introduce some special action later down the line for gunners that uses strength or something like that.
Volley is generally not worth the SP. It's ok when you've got no other uses for SP.
For pets you can run whatever you want really. The same caveats apply with any pet raising - keep an eye out and take action when some pet starts getting too strong because it's taking all the kills. Try to get Shadowstep early for any of your melee pets, or you have to hold back and let them have the kills a good amount of time so they don't fall behind. I'm personally using a Little Girl and Exile for the time being.

If potions are barely healing you, the easiest solution is to simply get better grade potions. Buy from invested magic stores or craft them. I have 15,000 hp and blessed potions of Jure still do the trick. Should you have way more, like hundreds of thousands or millions of HP, you might want to powerlevel healing spells or indeed your magic device, or switch to special things that heal a percentage of HP like first aid kits (heals full)

I just got my barrier broken and was half-killed by a camazotz on a panic quest, would have been real bad if it wasn't so frail that it died in one hit. So it was a good moment to try this out. With 60 magic device, a blessed rod of life heals me for only 1500. A blesssed Jure heals me for 3k, double that.

You don't understand, the special action spend stamina to give you a buff that restore stamina.
It would be like a spell that give you back more mana than you used for casting the spell.
Sure, in hairy situations you need to heal a lot and so lose stamina but then you remember the drain blood special actions and that you can dig wall to only fight one monster at a time ( don't forget to change creatures that dig wall/use the murder breath ) and drink blood until you're content.

That's very good, it also costs slightly less than houzanha (30 sp vs 32) which you can already spam at this point, and due to the variable sp cost will often cost almost nothing. I reckon it's going to get harder and harder to heal up mid-combat the more HP you get so something like this is ideal. Personally I think I can make do with leveling casting and healing spells, maybe grind magic device and use rods of mana as MP is the main damage buffer at this stage.

I was so scared man, normal Siva is strong as is. But here's my kill tip: buff your imouto squad with cheer, gravity accel and smile field, and level the shit out of your self-buffs at the wizard. Get the enemy to switch targets too. It helps to have somebody to lay on hands and absolute protect. According to the 1.11 changelog, if an ally receives damage that would kill them and protect is active, the protector negates it and receives half.

I've already troubleshooted it and reinstalled it every single time I play elona since 'playing' elona always turns into 'making sprites' for me. None of the issues apply to me and it runs absolutely perfectly until I save via any method (export, save, save as). Then it crashes the vast majority of the time. Crashes so hard, in fact, I can't close it via task manager and have to sign out to force it to close.
Gonna try paint.net instead. Layers aside, the basic ms.paint is good enough for what I actually use it for anyways

Have you tried out Graphics Gale? It's the best one for pixel art sprites. I have tried many others but this one felt more intuituve to me, without to mention that is one of the only ones that you can navigate the grid with the arrows.

I think that the wiki page is incorrect about reading spellbooks. With Literacy of 40, I was pretty much unable to read anything but the most basic ones. With same Literacy of 40 but after changing Magic from 3 to 15 (drank a potion of cure corruption and restored my attributes), I can read most of what I have. So Magic plays a large role as well as Literacy.

I wouldn't have done it. At the stage you're at, 7k is a fair amount of money. Eating the gun won't give you +2 dex and con, in fact it might not even give you a single point. Better to have had the money to get a farm earlier that will benefit you for a long time (and end up training your stats more). Right now you want all the money you can get in order to invest in magic vendors earlier and get deeds. Later, you can buy change material scrolls at the magic vendor and start hoarding them, then use those to improve the material of any weapon to e.g. adamantium for huge damage dice.

Yes, there is a minimal riding skill required depending on the creature so you don't get a severe speed penalty. Train its potential and level it up some more. It'll help to train the horse itself as well (outfit it, let it kill things, feed it strength food and give it skills through gene engineering).

Yeah, that's why few people use riding unless they really need it due to being a snail or something. If you're mounted the skill will train on its own no matter what you do, but for now you'd have to deal with being crazy slow due to the penalty. If you had selected it as your chosen skill in character creation you'd have 10 more riding levels as a headstart, but it'd be kind of a waste for most characters. You could also spend your precious levelup bonus skill points on it, but make sure its potential is high if you do.

I finally finished leveling a full chaos lightsaber. The smug ojou I gave it to has been consistently inflicting multiple ailments on most enemies (some such as bosses are immune), even shutting down Lv300 panic quest element dragons w/ stats around ~1200 (resists aside, that's thrice our stats and level). The chaos doesn't do much damage (<1/2 the physical damage vs 2x the physical on my full magic damage weapon), but due to turning enemies into a paralyzed confused sleeping blind drooling mess, the utility is high.

Anyway to increase my chances of getting generators? Like are they more likely to drop from certain spots?

I don't think anybody's ever built a breath-focused character and posted about it. There is an equipment attribute that enhances it similar to ''it enhances spells'', breath scales with CON (can be buffed with Gem Power), you can get MP/extermination breath with 60 magic/40 control magic respectively, and you can control the element with the Element Eyes. Sounds pretty good to me. The wiki table isn't correct anymore and it seems to have gotten buffed many updates ago. Give it a shot, maybe couple it with going houzanha-crazy all the time and worshiping Opatos.

Grab E+ and custom, that's it. The rest you adjust later to taste, like making portraits, talk files, adding sprites and changing the spritesheets/UI/BGM. This game is made so anybody with ms paint and notepad can mod almost anything themselves, and there is a tremendous amount of ready to use parts you can fiddle with and jam into what you want, so play for a bit then go nuts. Spend some time going through the pastebins.

Actually as of 1.75 eating equipment that improves any skill will grant some exp of that skill.

What I think you should do is focus for a short while on leveling your performer skill. Those party time quests yield me 10k per performance, and I pretty much stopped thing about money.

Yeah, I don't think it's a bug so much as the list of hires being limited. Since you can rehire the same guy after renaming the first, it shows that they still occupy a space in the list after being hired. But if that was changed, you wouldn't be able to hire them again if you for example fired them immediately. Might be good if the list of hires was expanded though (more than 1male1female each in the ''pool'' so renaming isn't necessary to have more than 2).

My experience is that the best way to get reasonable starting equipment is to take any old thing and change its material into something strong. Assuming you're on Elona+, try gathering scrolls of change material and use them on your weapon until it becomes griffin scale. This will take up to 11 scrolls, potentially less, depending on what material you started with. Once your weapon is griffin scale, use a blessed scroll of change material and it will become dragon scale, which is a solid all-around material with a damage bonus, an accuracy bonus, and a small bonus to your fire and ice resistances.

If you want you can use another blessed scroll of change material on your dragon scale item to make it adamantium, which has a huge damage bonus and a small constitution bonus, but only normal accuracy. Personally I would stick with dragon scale since missing is a big problem in the early game and adamantium is very heavy. You can use the same process to improve your armor as well.

Scrolls of superior material can get you other nice materials with worthwhile bonuses, but you won't be able to afford those in bulk for a while.

how many of you play Elona+ on roguelike mode? I've played many other roguelikes so I'm not new but I'm wondering if its feasible to actually experience the majority of the game without dying.

A death in Elona is much more frustrating than others roguelike, let's take Tome4 for example, you finish the game around the 10 to 50 hour mark depending on class and difficulty.
Elona's endgame is more around the 100 hours, and that's if you're efficient.

But yeah it's possible, the last boss is not that hard and doesn't require that much grinding, especially if you are using the right pet.

No death is unavoidable, but there are a LOT of potentially unfair deaths that requires lot of knowledge to avoid them all.
There are two in particular that can be very rage inducing : room full of bombs that pull you in and blow up at the same time, and something that use death word on you and then keep teleporting out of your reach.

As long as you have rods of teleport and more importantly rods of change creature, nothing is unavoidable assuming you survive the alpha strike.

Not really. You can learn to prepare yourself for any situation. But some of these situations are hard to prepare against if you've never encountered them before (as is true for every Roguelike, I suppose). So if you are starting on permadeath right away, expect to run into deaths as you start to encounter enemies that do stuff you don't expect.
The one thing you should be warned is that it's a somewhat common occurrence for savedata corruption to happen in Elona.
Game crashes while you're saving? Save is corupted.
Power outage in the middle of play? Save is corrupted.
Updating to a new version while in a non-static map? Save is corrupted.
The above doesn't happen every time, of course, but does happen with enough frequency to be frustrating. It's a good idea to keep frequent backups of your save folder just in case.

Awakened dungeons are silly places.
33 levels in one hour ? Come on, that's ridiculous.
If i was a magic-user and had access to meteor, i could probably rack up more than a hundred levels in the same timeframe.

I was always afraid of awakened dungeons and tended to shy away from them, but they're not that much harder than the void, and contrary to the void can spawn big daddies.

Power outages don't need a laptop. Your power company could decide to not give a good enough warning and shut your shit down at a bad time. And if your house has shitty wiring like mine, you can get them by turning on a light at a bad time.
It's not incredibly obvious to new players that they should save in a static map.

I just caught a firedragon child, how can i ensure it being strong later, or rather make it scale well? Should i gene engineer arms on the dragon so that it can carry a weapon or is that a wasted effort?

Fire dragon child has a fuckton of life and THREE evolutions, ensuring it will always become a nearly unkillable tank. It should be fine no matter what skill you make it specialize in (MA or weapons). You can and should gene engineer to get all skills, however be careful with parts because each body part over 13 gives a rising complicated body speed penalty. Personally I'd stop at the same slots as a human. You can't get all skills from the slave trader, so try scrolls of ally and ranching uniques. Some players are goodie-two-shoes and instead of using slaves they use only shades or gain attribute scrolls.

It really needs those hands, I made mine into a melee tank, and it was basically immortal, make sure you can give it some spending money by either letting it loot ores and gold, or giving it through the evochat. Your pet will automatically spend the money while in city to keep its potentials up.

Character level is for all intents and purposes independent of stats and skills, in other words it doesn't matter because difficulty doesn't scale to it and stats aren't tied to it. You or your pet can be level 50 or level 300 with the same stats (except the latter would of course have more HP/MP) Ordinary cooked food will do until you get an herb farm going, I recommend bread and meat dishes. Using inferior material scrolls to make equipment edible takes too much time and isn't worth the small amount of stat exp, it's more of a curiosity than anything. If something happens to be raw chow away but otherwise don't bother. Pets won't eat raw gear as far as I'm aware.

They automatically visit trainers while in town to improve their skill potentials, same with selling ores and jewels to make that money. You don't need to do anything but wait around in town. If you have expensive jewels from combining via pot of fusion don't give them more than one each to begin with as they spend all their gold as quickly as possible.

Very good with the new bitflag, 75% physical damage reduction is excellent. If you ever want a gunner on your team, I'd get one. For the rest since the only real criteria for choosing a pet are ''do I like it'' and ''is it cute'' it's up to you. I got regular weakass critters with no bitflags or special skills, trained the shit out of them, and now they're decapitating lesser deities
