If by “the effect” you’re talking about how it’s supposed to rumble/vibrate with the music...our R1 doesn’t have them connected properly, so they don’t vibrate during gameplay. I wish they did.

If you’re talking about standing on the platform...I stand a certain way when I’m playing, and I need the platform there. Some private cab owners remove it because they’re too tall, or they think it gets in the way, and I disagree with this. Especially when the cabs are brought to cons without the platforms, it makes me have to stand in a different and uncomfortable way.

piu is a little different because the layout makes you move more, but like, on ddr you should almost always be touching the center panel as well as the arrow panel you're hitting

on piu it's typical to stand on the rectangular metal bits between the diagonals and shift your feet up/down to hit those arrows or bring them in to hit the edge of the center panel

obv when doing crossovers you have to move your body but you should try to minimize movement and keep towards the metal

Question for IIDX players:

How do you usually approach the middle black key? (key #4)
I only use the same hand to press that key regardless of the chord pattern. I feel like I should be able to alternate hands freely (not freely, but when's convenient) in order to achieve better scores and be able to play denser patterns. I think of it like playing DJMax 5B mode. Sometimes it's better to use your right hand to hit the middle note, sometimes it's better to use the left hand, and I can do that without even thinking.
But in IIDX, everytime I try to use my other hand to press that key I fuck up badly. Should I force myself to learn this?
BTW - Currently stuck at the 11 wall.

Probably eventually. DOLCE does it for heavy 4-7 (not sure how you name 2P, but the 4 keys furthest from the TT) patterns.
Shouldn't be necessary for a while though. I use random and have beaten a few 12s, but there's still very few times where it would actually be needed.

Goddamnit, died on TSP at note 1345 out of 1500 something. It was my first time truing the chart too. Not being shit at scratching sure helps me not dying fast.

At least I know I can be 9th Dan Lost because I screwed up at Kailua with 40+ misses than my regular plays, which is s lot of extra gauge I was supposed to have.

Moving from a C02 to this new IO, I changed my offset from -2.0 to somewhere between -1.7 and -1.0 (still messing with it). The TT is still kinda shitty and needs some rewiring to use different connectors on the new IO in order to feel like IO2.

It's true that the audio latency is so much lower now, though. It feels like CS. It's great.

I know this was the beginning of the thread and all, but DJMAX Respect doesn't rely on combos, they just track the combo as a stat but the scoring has nothing to do with it. Breaks just hurt your health, but the actual score is the percentage which is based on note accuracy. You can max combo the song but still get an 80% if your accuracy is shit. It's more generous with its 100% note hit than IIDX is but it will still dish out the 80-90% if you're fucking up and 70-lower if you're being shit.

I should clarify, my left hand completely leaves the key set when I scratch and my right hand comes in to hit the leftmost keys. I can AA a buncha 8s but I cant pass a 9 for shit.

You can certainly get good with 1-handing, but ideally you want index on 2, thumb on 1, and possibly on 3 as well when scratching. Apart from stupidly dense scratch charts, but that doesn't really come until level 10s.

Could you suggest something to make the fps go back to 59 on the screen check?

I'm relieved to have the game running again on compatibility mode (windows xp service pack 3), but I'd rather not have to adapt to a different FPS only to learn it all again so eday when it goes back to normal.

I think it's a coincidence the game stopped working after I updated to the latest kactools because as I told before, thkngs were already weird because the game wouldn't start again after I played once, closed and tried to open it again. I erased it all and used old kactools and still didn't work.
Also had windows install whatever updates it wanted but still didn't solve anything. I use windows 7 basic.
