You shouldn't even reply with saging because some attention-deprived mofo is gonna reply with sage turned off.

You can thank the people who self-identify as /jp/ rejects over at /qa/

Why can't it just come back already.

im sure 90% of them are just angry their threads die with no replies or have been banned justfully and decide to get pissy about it.

Best we leave this thread be. Doesn't look like anything good will come of it seeing as OP decides to not bother responding at all to anything.

Or just tired of seeing 70% of the catalog having the same touhou images that have already been posted thousands of times before.

/jp/ is a touhou board now. It isn't hard to understand that.
Most other threads, or rather generals, are only here because they have direct Nippon influence.
You can create any thread you like as long as it isn't western garbage, reek of cross boarding or normalfaggotry. The occasional newfag will come through and get bullied off after exposing their powerlevel, but that isn't something to fret about.
Being tired of seeing the same thing over and over again isn't an excuse to make a shit thread for any reason. It doesn nothing productive. Especially if it introduces another possible general, much to which a part of /jp/ gets rather angry about.

>> No.18108639

>>18108360
The amount of "ironic weebs" (sic) who pretend to be /jp/ over at /qa/ is pretty fucking depressing, that entire board feels completely forced. If only Hiro did the sensible thing and deleted that place instead of letting it turn into yet another /b/.
>>18108561
So you go and repost those images again on /qa/, great job dude.

>> No.18108668

>>18108648
That's basically a general no matter how you look at it you brain damaged cunt.

Seeing as how slow /jp/ is, he could say monthly and it still wouldn't make any sense considering the traffic here.

>> No.18108676

>>18108635
/jp/ is a board about otaku culture. Touhou a big part of otaku culture, therefore people make a lot of Touhou threads. And that's it. All permanent threads that were moved or created here either have a relation to otaku culture or nowhere else to go, and they're only permanent because there are enough people who like talking about them around all day. That's how things work.
And hell, I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time I've seen an osu thread about here. No idea why this one in particular was met with so much hostility.

>> No.18108704

>>18108668
A general is a thread that gets constantly remade as soon as it dies regardless of how much there still it to talk about regarding its subject. Merely being a thread that gets remade "often" isn't enough to count.
And even with /jp/'s speed, it takes about one day for a thread to die if it doesn't get bumped. It would take a serious amount of necrobumping or strategic bumping to keep a thread alive for a week, and if that were to happen said thread would already be breaking a few rules and should get deleted anyway.
Please remember that a "general" is not just a thread you dislike. This is a serious matter.

>> No.18108708

>>18108676
The fact that threads have been moved here instead of elsewhere pisses most off. Not having a place to go is another matter though. You could argue all day where they would be best fit "as long as it isn't on /jp/ wasting space"

>I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time I've seen an osu thread about here. No idea why this one in particular was met with so much hostility.
Check the subject and you'll have your answer.

Uh?

>> No.18108722

>>18108639
Well, it's the last place to put those kinds of posters.
I think /b/ is a free for all board now at this point. Bringing them there would just create numerous (somehow) even more threads of less worth then the already present ones.
Nuking it will just have them spread, plus, it acts as a sponge for pointless metaposting

>> No.18108725

>>18108708
"Weekly osu!"? I'm not sure why that would be a big issue, unless OP tries to keep his thread alive out of spite.
And by threads that don't have anywhere else to go I mean all idolshit or 3DPD, I don't think they belong on /mu/ or /s/. Having them around is annoying but I have no idea how to tackle the issue about their existence, and I don't want to outright deny people a place to talk about something on 4chan. Thankfully we have filters.

>> No.18108759

>>18108725
The reason behind it being met with hostility now is the fact that there is already a rhythm games general, OP is basically creating another general (which is pointless seeing the previous reason) that would be weekly, much to which won't even "be" weekly as said in the second part of >>18108668, and that this game is v/vg territory looking at its roots.

Not denying what people can and can't discuss here isn't a bad thing, and yeah filters can handle them, but not everyone uses them, and instead, complain about the threads existance. Which then routes back to people arguing all day where else they could be instead of on /jp/.

>> No.18109341

>>18108759
Well, the problem is that most people don't put up with Osu in the rhythm game general either. Yes, it should be easy enough to ignore, and probably half of the time or more when it's brought up it's done by people who know better and just want to shitpost, but for whatever reason, I see very few people on here or /v/ who want to talk about the game and not get sucked into the same arguments all the time. If it isn't Osu fans starting shit by saying how much better Osu is than everything else for ignorant reasons, it's insecure people starting shit by arguing with Osu people for merely bringing the game up.

That said, I do agree that /v/ or /vg/ is more suitable for Osu than /jp/. Osu threads on /v/ at least get usually some positive traction, rather than, for example, IIDX threads on /v/ which consistently instantly die.

Assuming all of that is true, why make a thread here in the first place. Given the reaction, it most certainly won't be welcome here.
If there are threads elsewhere doing rather well, keep it in that area. Spreading it will, at most, cause conflict in a worst case scenario.
