Jouyou kanji? Enjoy learning at least 3000 more to be able to read anything, and even then only with furigana.

I would guess that the Jouyou kanji enables you to read and understand importan/core sentences in let's say, manga or visual novels, while you'll still encounter new kanjis from time to time.

jouyou should get you by, but there are about 1000 additional kanji that are recommended for reading and writing most things. a lot of these are just for names.

IU's story and characters seem like they were ripped out of a shitty B-rate anime, but after the over-the-top plots of SO3 and Eternal Sonata, I'd cut them some slack. Fortunately you could skip all the cutscenes.

The battle system was fun as all hell, and I hope they incorporate it into future games. Beating Iselia/Ethereal Queen was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had in a long time.

Graphics and music I care little about. Movies can be quite entertaining plot-and-character-wise, but are over in an hour and a half. Books are over in maybe four hours max for a long book. Games can keep me going for several days or more.

Never try playing Etrian Odyssey. It's all gameplay, and that gameplay is very simple. Somehow though it manages to be extremely addictive. Those few moments of plot it does have are fairly decent I suppose (I can't be the only one who shat bricks upon entering the Fifth Stratum).
