It's a little bit complicated.
Essentially, at some point someone made a twitter bot that every once in a while tweets a sentence in the form of
"Marisa-chan (semi-random sequence of words) survives."
For example, the bot spit out tweets like "Marisa-chan as only a brain survives" and "Marisa-chan even with spaghetti poured down her collar survives".
This bot was quite popular among Japanese Touhou fans and twenty of them got together to produce this book. Each of them picked one tweet the bot had made and illustrated it. So the whole book is Marisa surviving various things.

13. Marisa-chan sees a videogram in Kourindou and the shock leaves her hands shaking so much that she breaks about twenty pieces of china, and after calming down grabs Kourindou's pre-opening cleaning tools and takes the store owner's place reading books behind the counter while crying but survives.
14. Marisa-chan survives having a string of country flags pulled from her mouth by a mysterious magician.
15. Marisa-chan survives losing everything that's important to her and losing the ability to remember what it was she lost.
16. Marisa-chan survives without mending her poem collection.
17. Marisa-chan's motorcycle that she's suddenly using in place of her broom falls down just as she's about to try to get her liscense and can't pick it up, and thus fails to get her liscense but survives.
18. Marisa-chan, enjoying the view while riding her giant Giant Spider Crab, is forced to survive only being able to see a whole thicket of crabs.
19. Marisa-chan doesn't realize that her skirt and bloomers have ripped and her whole butt is totally on display but nobody points it out to her so she survives in tranquil ignorance.
20. Marisa-chan's Twitter followers keep saying scarier and scarier things but she survives. (My favorite of the tweets: What's black and white and red all over? Marisa's clothes after I'm done with her, lol!)
21. Marisa-chan is loved by everyone in so many ways and survives.
