I don't think a working version exist at all, or at least there's a version that breaks it. This issue has also come up multiple times in the gameplay thread as well. This post in SM https://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,20915.0.html is the only thing I could find anything that was relevant to the issue. Same conditions described in the gamethread, white stripes and garbled character and all. I think it also happens with Yuuka as well.

I see, thanks for the info. If it's just the Extra that's broken, then I think including the patch is still worthwhile, especially since you can use EditDisk to move scorefiles between the Japanese and English versions. I would have liked to include a note about it in the readme, of course, but a note in the torrent description will have to do for now.

I already have all of the Touhou games all in one folder with thcrap over them. They all work fine and I've tweaked anex86 to make it optimal for Touhou. Is getting this worth it or is it more for lucky newcomers or people that are getting new computers?

No. Not unless you just want to seed it for others. You may want some individual games and not the whole torrent if you have crappy bootlegs or games that were tampered with outside of the standard vpatch, static English. In other words, anything from Moriya Shrine.

OP here; I don't know about the downloads from Moriya Shrine or why he mentioned them, but the versions of 6 and 7 from the previous release of this pack were definitely a little screwy. I'm not exactly sure how (just grabbed them from another torrent at the time), and it shouldn't have had any effect on gameplay, but the file hashes didn't match the originals. However, all the games in this release are verified CD rips.

Their EoSD did not work for me even with vpatch.

Also this is a better solution if you want all the games and tools in one download. In MS you have to download every separately, plus their files are hosted by mega which can always remove them (much like all the music they lost) or their site gets taken down.

In a sense, yes. Everything included in it (except the notes in the readme and some typeset translated materials) is readily available via direct download, mostly from the wiki or MotK. But all in one monstrous 8GB file? No.

No need to keep it bumped, really; it's not like everyone on /jp/ has to see this thread. I was able to reclaim ownership of the original torrent, to hide it and change the description, so now anyone searching for the pack by name will only find the new version, and anyone linked to the old version will see a message redirecting them. And it already seems to have 15 to 20 consistent seeders, so that's not a concern.

The purpose of this pack is to be the most complete and convenient source to download the games. So it includes the official games, their English translations, the tools you need to make them run correctly on your version and locale of Windows, and nothing else.
I haven't made a similar music or print works pack for various reasons, but if you would like to take up the challenge, that's great! However, I would recommend keeping the media separate; ie, one pack for games, one for music, one for everything else. That makes them easier to categorize on Nyaa, and helps make sure everybody gets only what they want.
Of course, I am not the internet police, so do whatever you want.

The "original" files for every game are included, by which I mean a disc rip to which the latest official update patch has been applied. So if you're looking to patch the games into other languages or apply tools that only work on the Japanese versions, you can.
Additionally for all of them up to 13.5, the English hardpatched versions are included as well, pre-patched and ready to play. If you're worried about bloat, keep in mind that the vast majority of the data is music, which is used in common between both versions, so the English versions only make up about 5% of the total size.
