She's genuinely goofy and dumb sometimes and completely sharp, serious, and murderous at others.

It's not just her, actually. Shiki is goddamned retarded in this route. These two have no fucking chemistry whatsoever.

I can see the stereotype Nasu was going for, but goddamn. Arc route has to be the worst writing he's ever done.

I find it hard to believe that anything with a human form and intelligence (and the capability to meander about in the daytime) would never get accustomed to civilization.

She doesn't have to patch up herself, but the likelihood that someone with that long a lifespan would never have known anyone else who would have ever needed even minor wounds tended is absurd.

After chasing Roa for nearly a millennium you'd expect her to pick up a few things here and there.

Personally, I don't find it that hard to believe. People will not get accustomed to things they don't care about, especially if their exposition to them is but a thousandth fraction of their total lifetime. The only reason Arcueid even paid attention to Shiki at frst was because he killed her. 17 times, in fact, just to make sure she noticed him. Some say it was overkill, but hey, if it works.

And even then, until she started to get bored of waiting, and the thought "Heeey, wait a second, if he killed me he must be pretty fucking uber, might as well try to meet him and get his help." crossed her mind, the only reason she wanted to meet him was to rip his insides out and make a scarf with them. If I'm getting things right, after Roa's thing happened, Arc didn't exactly care much for humans, and therefore every time she woke up, went, found him, killed him, and went back home, without talking to anyone if avoidable.

tl;dr: Until Shiki, Arc thought humans were shit, mostly.

Myself, I quite like Arcueid. But then, I'm a sucker for immortals who don't take everything too much as serious business.

The thing about Ciel is that she got a route instead of Sacchin. A route for a heroine that maybe around 4-7 people have claimed to like. A route that caused pain and suffering to everyone who hated her but couldn't stand not having completed the game.

About the not drinking blood, yeah, it shows she had some respect, though I have heard the argument (and find it believable) that the whole "last time I drank blood I went batshit crazy and became one of those I was supposed to hunt, not to mention I blew up my own species" thing helped her restraint a lot as well.
