Does anybody knows why Maou no Hajimetekata suddenly decided to remake the game from FGO-clone to generic one-button autobattler?

I remember it went into a month-long 'maintenance' right after the release. I figured they stumbled upon some critical issue or something like that. And also the game perfromance was so bad I'd figured they're going to optimize it too.

Now they've reopened the prereg page and it says in their twitter that the game is going to have a remade battle system. Judging by screenshots and keywords in that post (suggesting you now need minimum involvement in the actual battle) it's going to be another turn-based autobattle simulator.

Did I get anything wrong? Why did they even do this? Did Aniplex sue them for too many similarities? Honestly it got me interested exactly because it had a battle system similar to FGO and succubus/demons themed heroines. But if I wanted just the latter, I'd go play Re-bless.

Lucia's harder to use in that regard due to her skill giving 0 block, but her SAW making the effect permanent with a large attack boost helps save ranged slots on maps that don't have a lot of them by giving you what's effectively a normal healer in a melee slot.

There are three major ones; Aigis, Flower Knight Girl and Kamihime Project.

Aigis is a tower defense game and the oldest of the bunch, with an almost four-year history. It has a generic but enjoyable fantasy setting with the usual assortment of classes (soldiers, mages, archers, healers and so on) and a relatively generous gacha, with the highest rarity (black) coming at 3% and the second-highest (platinum) at 10%. Plats are considered the standard rarity and can easily carry the game on their own, black units are more of a luxury and often designed to break the game in various ways. Paid deals are nearly nonexistent, you'll have to try your luck with the 3% rates if you want to whale for a black. Recommended if you like gameplay.

Flower Knight Girl is essentially a collection game with minimal gameplay and difficulty, battles are largely automated and events are a joke even for beginning players. It has probably the neatest setting among all DMM games, all girls are based on specific flowers and their biology/floriography is reflected in their character designs in various ways. Its gacha is less lucrative compared to Aigis (0.5% and 6% for the highest and second-highest rarities, rainbows and golds), but this is partially counterbalanced by campaigns that hand out premium currency for free and paid deals that guarantee rainbows of your choice. Recommended if you prefer to take it easy and fawn over cute girls.

Kamihime is a Granblue clone and the newest of the three, and I'm not very qualified to comment on it since I haven't played it for long. Its highest rarity (SSR) is at a 3% rate, and unlike Aigis and FKG, this is apparently the standard rarity that you ought to have if you want to have fun in this game. Since elemental synergies also exist in Kamihime, rerolling for a good start is highly recommended. Paid deals that allow you to choose an SSR exist but are rare. Recommended if you like NTR (this was the game's original niche, although it is getting rarer by the day) or if you wish that Granblue had inbuilt H-scenes.

If the shameless shilling wasn't obvious, I prefer FKG to the other two, but all are worth trying out.

1) They got implemented one at a time, which means, for instance, that at first there was only the fire one and everyone farmed it like mad, then the next one came, and everyone farmed that one like mad etc. Which means older players have likely finished farming one or two weapons for each element by the time the last one was out and now they have little reason to join them (unless they're autist enough to want a weapon for each soul).
2) Besides Dark/Light, the others are not that hard to solo or half-solo, even off-element, if you have a (near) endgame team. Especially Fire and Thunder. Which means, again, older players will be unlikely to join.
3) As the other guy said, if a raid event is on, people will not join.
4) Don't host them in the middle of the Japanese night (4-6 AM). Apparently, Japanese nerds sleep at that time.
5) They're simply hard to catch. Unless you're there monitoring all the time, the chance of finding the one you want is slim.
So yeah, you're a bit late to the party but at least you didn't accidentally exchange regalia for the wrong weapon like I did when I was drunk.

Healers aren't a first-priority AW for me, they are perfectly serviceable at CC60/70. I would recommend an archer or another early DPS unit, the stats from AW are more relevant on these compared to healers. If you have SAW fairies and extra gold, also check whether any of your units have exceptional SAWs.

At the end of the day, if your first healer isn't cutting it, you're probably facing a big boss and don't have UP issues, so you can just throw down a second one.

Okay so the game has really nice and fluid combat animations, with basic attacks having 5 different variations, but that's it.
The combat is a dumbed down auto-battle where you sometimes have to maunally activate character ougis. There are some tactical features like attacks having a chance to activate buffs, ougis having different effects and targeting different rows of enemies but it all feels so insignificant and boils down to having a high 'overall power' number. I can't bring myself to play it any longer.

Character progress feels like they could've just added a big 'make stats grow' button instead of 10 menus for increasing character rarity, stars, stats and passives requiring different resources but ultimately doing the same thing.

It's all about skill and preference. Good artists now how to balance the shading by making sharp highlights in right places.

They added expeditions which gives a fuckton of tanukis and foxes so you don't need to grind anymore.

They also added another layer on the guild wars. You can build castles which buffs your units in battle (but only during guild wars). They also changed the matchmaking and added a bunch of new rewards.

I tried to figure out how long until Liana's revival. We skipped ahead to Memento for October, so there's a little backtracking to do.

Imelia's event is announced to be the next revival. Following that may be Anna's, as it came right after Imelia's and we're leading right into the anniversary, so they'll probably try to line them up.

Memento's would have been next, then we should get Elva, then Liana.

So the approximate revival schedule should be Imelia, Anna, Elva, Liana, putting Liana about a month out.

I have played it for a few days. It's partly true from what I saw. Probably just like Kamihime. Some scenes are pure vanilla, while some are murabito and monster rapes.

Speaking of the game it certainly is not of the worst quality. Full voice, animated H-scenes and I kind of liked that system where girls have different skill slots and you can customize them the way you like.

Events are also pretty user-friendly. I was able to grab an event character just the day before the event ended.

Goddess Kiss? You're probably talking about the daily quest that asks you to do a battle with a Mercenary ally. In the screen before a battle where you're setting up your units, there's a second tab where you can place Mercenary girls instead of your own.

You have to follow the directions in the first News thing if you want to claim your pre-reg girl. I'm at 32, the lvl 30 building lets you do a special battle once every 6 hours. They rotate between Gold and Ammo based on how many waves you can survive. ~10 Waves is ~100k Gold in the gold one, and 100 Ammo in the Ammo one.

I don't think a rate increase is going to happen, honestly. FKG is invested too heavily in its "low rates balanced by frequent gifts" model, and changing it will do a number on their profits because a good part of it is from Ludo Rathowm-tier whales who want to collect every girl (moderate spenders already have a consistent, relatively low-cost way of getting the rainbows they like through 5000 point deals). They did increase the rates once, but that was near the very start of the game.

The medal system could use a rehaul, though I don't really know how. The tickets don't actually offer too much over a regular 50-gem roll (7.5% chance for a rainbow against ~5.4%), and rainbow medals have little draw for whales because using them to buy a rainbow is much more expensive that the existing DMM point deals, so they only end up as a small bonus for people who already take the daily 100/300 point offers. At the current rate, everyone will also get a free rainbow once per year from the medals, and I guess that's still considerable (albeit painfully slow).

That said, I'm fine with the current state of things, since I'm mostly playing this game to see the flower designs every other week. Speaking of which, I wonder the fellow in the old DMM threads who wanted more witches in FKG is still around, because the next event is nearly confirmed to feature one (who has been teased for over a year now).

You tell Aigis to get fcked and build a gold only team. Its faster and more cost effective in general use. Use the blacks you have in that team to pull off some stunts that the golds cant do alone. Also, you used up a lot of bad luck, so the next rolls should be better anyway.

It's always nothing but golds and silvers and on the off chance I manage to get plats (I got two this time out of 150sc) they were both dupes even though I barely have any non event plats

I spent 200sc on the last imperial gacha and got nothing but one dupe plat. The good thing about that was i got the Slegend stamp card as a consolidation price and the next time i see that black hue will be even more exciting.

I'm really struggling with the Jack-o-lantern event. I can't say that I had an easy time with Dullahan, but it was manageable with my Light team. Now, my Light team is at 34k att with 66% assault grid and I'm barely surviving to the first burst.

I'm appreciating Cassi's heal, but CM isn't working as well as I thought it would, especially since Jack does 2 buffs on overdrive. Should I switch back to Mordred and just hope that I can debuff her enough to (kinda) counter her buffs?
