Crystal Valley moves slowly (at least in hibernation mode) and we actually don't know how its ranged weapons would work or if it even has them.

But it requires the capacity to move massive distances. Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter were all larger than a kilometer, so just moving at what appears to be a leisurely pace for them is FAST.
Mercury, being so much smaller, would have to dart like lightning.

Earth sends all of its mightiest champions after it, but then ORT goes into spider mode and wipes them all out with its blue fire tentacle fury. Then Zelretch and Aoko step in and use their sorcery GATTAI attack to nail ORT with dimensional and time travel attacks.
ORT cannot defend and is wiped out like the Crimson Moon. Earth is saved with the exception of Central and South America.
