Cute girls in cute dresses and good music. The games are fun but I'm not very good at them. I don't care for lewds; I want my cute girls to remain pure. I love Satori, but I also like Alice and Marisa a lot. And Patchouli, she is probably the reason why I'm into touhou.

The games, print works/lore, and yuri doujinshi. The music is great too.

Plenty of things, honestly. I was never very good at the games to start with but I've gotten good enough to 1cc normal in most games with enough practice, and now they can be pretty fun. The music is definitely a big plus too. I'm always listening to new shit and have 500 gigs of that touhou lossless music collection.

There's also plenty of waifu potential. The girls are plenty cute with interesting personalities, that's for sure. As for story, I would say not. The story is rarely anything too exceptional; rather, I think it's the characters and setting/world that gives Touhou life far more than the stories.

Lewds, I have some 60 gigs of touhou porn, enough said. Memes, sure, I enjoy them, though I don't specifically seek them out or anything. Last thing I guess I'd add is that the amount of fan works(manga/doujinshi)and merchandise around is staggering, and that only adds to the fun of being into the series.

In short, all these things make the series lots of fun. There doesn't seem to be any single defining attribute; all of these factors seem to contribute equally in different ways. Anyway, I got into it when my internet friend introduced me to Soku. We played it for a few years, with him initially beating my ass into the ground and towards the end almost being even with him. Good times.

As for my 2hu waifu, if I had to make a choice, I guess I'd say Reisen.

I remember downloading a a video of someone playing IN way back in the pre-youtube days. I liked shooters and it looked pretty unique, so I tried to find somewhere to download the game, but failed. I completely forgot about it until years later when someone was dumping doujins on /a/ and I recognized some of the characters. Downloaded the games, read a bunch of stuff, got hooked.

As for introduction, as an internet person I've known about Touhou since I got on 4chan in 06 or something. I probably knew about it when I was sniffing around stuff in 05. It's been many years. However, I didn't give a toss about it, didn't even read any porn. Friend of mine is hugely into it and has been for ages, I finally decided to bite the bullet and basically, he was right. Great stuff.

I don't have a waifu other than Kino but, while she's not my FAVORITE favorite character, Seija is a 2hu I'm obsessed with.

The music is personally what does it for me. I'm still too new to the series to decide on a waifu, but there seems to be plenty of potential, so that's a plus too.

Cute girls and...that's it. The games aren't that good, the printed works are bad and the music is not that impressive (but that doesn't mean that it is bad).

I like how the gameplay is simple and the lore is quite rich. The girls are cute and appealing too, even in ZUN's artstyle.

If anything, this board introduced me to Touhou while I was jumping from board to board to know more about the culture of the site. Yuyuko Saigyouji is definitely what I'd call my waifu.

I like the hard game play, if the game is difficult, but fair, I will like it. I have always enjoyed 2hu music, recently I am getting into more sythenzied style of music, and I am starting to enjoy the PC-98 era more.
