At the time it was memorable to me for having a noticeably higher vocabulary level than most other things I had read at the time which put it an optimal choice for the "tough but not overwhelming" criteria. It also tries hard to have a colorful story, characters, and even deeper meaning to the events that occur so despite it's flaws and failures I didn't feel bad putting it on there - I'm pretty sure more people will like it than dislike it, anyway. It's got a 78 on EGS after all, not too shabby. In fact, it's precisely because of it's flaws I like that it's there. Hello Lady could easily replace it as a "tough" game that's actually really good, but would you want to put Hello Lady on a guide meant for people with a weak grasp of Japanese? No way, the potential for soiling a kamige with poor Japanese is just too high. So putting mediocre games there is comforting in a sense - you'll note Gunjou no Sora is the only game on there that's more or less "flawless" so to speak.

That said nowadays I would probably replace Hatsuru Koto Naki with "Dungeons and Daimeiwaku", as D&D is significantly shorter and lacks the almost offensively poor WW2 allegories/edgy protagonist. I would also want to replace Hello Lady as it frankly has pretty ugly art and that's a barrier of entry for people with poor Japanese but I currently haven't read any games with a similar setup as it (good blend of semi-constant action/sci-fi) so I would leave it for now.

I've read a fair amount of all of them, though I didn't finish all of them. Good enough to get a taste of the language. Note that the guide is centric around language difficulty, not the quality of the games themselves (if quality is the point, just read any other recommendation chart). That said no game is kusoge, just flawed. This is evident from the respectable EGS scores (which all rest around 80).

Enjoying the loli oneesan dynamic since she's always spoiling the MC and to taking care of him (in many ways) despite looking younger than him. The other girls' reaction to them were funny too.

There's pretty much no drama in this route, but it feels shorter than Rairai since there's not as much plot either with only 1 ending.

How is it presented?

Writing is the tool to convey the scenario. You can have a great scenario with crappy writing. For example the narration is bland or repeats a lot of stuff for no reason. By that I don't mean normal padding, just for example repeating whatever has been said a line before or repeating 20 times some plot-point because the author fears the reader forgets it.

You can also look at it like this: Scenario is something you can and should judge based on the whole work. Writing is something you can judge based on a small excerpt.

The problem I see with games/anime/VNs like these is that they're way too hyped up.
It's fine when a new company does well or something known to be okay does decently.

But when something just goes up and beyond amazing it becomes open to so much criticism and people will look for any flaw possible. If they don't find it downright amazing too they treat it like trash.
Something that should really just be decent turns to awful because people held really high expectations, rather than be considered decent.

It's quite sad really. I hate the masses for this.

However since people talk about it and it's popular, if somebody doesn't find it amazing as those people they treat it like garbage and be in a rush to let others know too.
If it weren't popular or highly rated. People would just treat it as decent or okay.

If the vast majority of people heap praises upon a work and someone thinks its just okay, many times they clearly feel the need to bash it. But if it is thought of as just okay, they will not. Most people pay attention to the 8s and 9s though, 10s seldom occur. That said you sort of develop your own taste after a while and go for things you like. Or you find a group that share similar tastes. If somebody likes something from that group, chances are others from that group will do too.

People have different interests, beside most of that 'shit' is just okay or decent.
Even I'm guilty of this. Like I hate FMA, I don't understand why people can sit through that, yet however that opinion of mine was formed when I kept hearing how it is the best anime ever. When watching it seemed lackluster and I normally would have written it off as something I don't like but seeing the overwhelming positivity I tend to look down on it more. Take a look at youtube videos of things like Justin Beiber or Twilight or something very specific to a group. People who aren't teen girls or middle aged mums dislike the shit out of them. They normally would of left it alone if wasn't as popular. However that notoriety draws hate from people who aren't the target audience.
Even take shit like furries or yaoi. People hate them as they're popular and get talked about a lot, otherwise they would been written off like scat or gaping or something that isn't as popular but still induces gagging.

friend I know this isn't the place for it but you might consider getting out more.

as for the actual point, most sane people don't hate things that get popular. they might raise an eyebrow or not understand the appeal but rarely does anyone ever hate things based on their popularity outside of what we call contrarian hipsters. aka the dregs of society that inhabit message boards such as these.

most of the time that "hate" you're talking about comes from misinterpreting the feeling you're getting when someone finds enjoyment in something you don't. it's simple jealousy that they get to enjoy it and you get left out. but it's much easier to call the thing shit and save your ego with that smug sense of superiority. you can't be jealous of them having fun if they have shit taste, right? nevermind the actual quality of the thing. that's not as important as you'd think. just the enjoyment. if you enjoyed something you'll do all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify why you did.

To be fair, I have no idea how that game got THAT good of a score, and I sure as hell wasn't hyped about the game, nor do I think a score ever influenced my opinion about a game. I'm not too far in, but there's one general flaw, that's VERY apparent and has appeared in several very different places already: The author doesn't care about anything else but advance the story exactly like he wants to. Everything else has to bend. And that can turn REALLY bad. Let's just say: It doesn't take long until literally every character feels like a moron, because they have to act in weird moronic ways to get the story the way the author wants.

I'll still continue it, but generally speaking: Of course the game would end up getting less flak if it had a less positive reception. But that's just because you'd already know it's "not that good anyway" based on the overall reception. If however that isn't the case, you kinda gotta explain yourself. It's the same like if you like a not that well rated game. Gotta say why a little more detailed.

>> No.17493216

I think the problems with Apeiria's reception are:
1. It's way too complicated for the average moebuta's intellect. They simply won't be able to comprehend the science and infodumps in it.
2. It's also way too much of a bakage for super serious scenario people. Rapid pacing and mood whiplash is common.

So in conclusion it won't be very popular with people who lean strongly into either side of the spectrum. If you can deal with these points and consider yourself to have broad taste it's honestly a fantastic game at what it does and definitely deserving of its rating.

One isn't really much of a spoiler, given that it's a fanservice scene: Girl falls naked on the protagonist, so she literally sits on his face. This is kinda a "transfer from real world to game world" thing, so why that happens is okay.
So they then talk and talk and she's like "btw., where are you? I hear your voice, but didn't see you all this time in this room?" She also never realized she is naked, even though she was naked before the transfer, looked around the room and whatnot.
So, how in the world did she never look down? How can she not realize that the voice is coming from under her? Also, fun fact: They aren't alone in that room. The other heroines are also there. Not a SINGLE comment is given by them, which is hella out of character as well. All for one shitty fan-service scene.

I hoped it was just stupid to show some random fan-service CG and he was forced to write dragged out scenes to accompany them. Showing them for 2 text-boxes would be a "waste", right? Well, this kind of thing happens in the story as well.
When shit starts to hit the fan and the issue with the mmog starts, the AI is sent there to deal with it. She's supposed to be able to think like humans and shows that several times. Basically she is almost like a human, which is kinda the point. And yet she doesn't find it strange that she spends literally half a year in that mmog sending her status report hourly (her time, mmog is 365 faster than the normal time), with nothing in the situation changing and not getting any message from the outside anymore.
It's fairly ridiculous. If you have even somewhat of a brain, you'd ask if everything is alright after 2 weeks of no progress and no message. That's roughly an hour real-time. That's WEIRD. Even the most positive person would get antsy after a month. 6 fucking months till she is like "I kinda wanna get a message? Hello? Plz?"? Sure is strong AI here. Also gotta love how the other heroines are still like "let's think first! I'm sure that'll give us a solution, because it's not like we didn't get any good idea for a WHOLE DAY already. Oh and it's just the AI there, so don't go there as well and risk your life plz!".. of course the almost 100 trapped people in heavy risk of losing their lives are not taken into account. They are forgotten. Juuust like the presence of the heroines during the first mentioned fan-service scene.

It can be such a mess. It really can be. I personally also found the one battle I saw so far horrible, but... whatever. The biggest flaw is really just that the author sacrifices way too much to get the story to go the way he wants to.

>> No.17493297

>>17493250
I agree with the naked scene being done bad, but your latter complaints are pretty off the mark IMO.
The AI's first priority is her master's orders, so it's not strange to think that she'd persist that long. She has achieved qualia, but it's clear she doesn't think quite like a normal human yet.
And as for them waiting for reports instead of going in on there own, it's understandable too.
Nobody wants to risk their life, especially when you don't even know what's going on and if you can make a difference.

>> No.17493521

>>17493297

She is supposed to think like a normal person. That's why I wrote, "sure is strong AI", because what happens there is just convenient story-telling. Either it's just an AI that follows orders, or it's not. And she is clearly depicted to be not like that. Which is why she at some point does eventually do something a normal AI would perhaps not do. Depends though. Even a normal AI would probably deal better with such a situation, because having a routine to prevent infinite loops is quite handy. For example the ai not accepting any order where there isn't a clear 100% way to get it finished without at least giving a warning.
Anyway, she understands what's going on. She knows that while her order is to report hourly and "deal with the situation", the goal is not to report hourly but rather to solve things asap. If there is NO PROGRESS over a very long time (=weeks), not asking makes 0 sense. You don't have to be particularly intelligent for that either. It's forced as hell. It needs to bend so the author's story idea fits.

As for the latter one, I disagree about that. There are pretty much 2 ways of dealing with a situation. Either you actually deal with it, or you don't and ignore it. Whatever you decide on, you do. In this case, they decide to deal with it. So you gotta follow through.
There'd be no problem if they'd never committed anything and chose to just look. They didn't, understandably. While you can't really say it's their entire fault, if they had just spent 2 days in bed before and not done anything, they'd not need to deal with the situation. So feeling bad just ignoring it is alright. So, at the point where it's fairly clear that you cannot do anything anymore from where you are AND you know something bad is going on, do you REALLY need to discuss things? Everything has been decided at that point already.

Now, I'm not even saying that that character behavior is necessarily bad in a story, but it should be referenced as what it is: Being wishy washy and afraid. It's human enough, although it's not very appealing. But even that aside, that in all their arguments they only talk about the AI and not at all about all the people still there is ultimately the same kind of thing as before. The author wanted a scene where they argue about the AI. Having another (much more convincing) point would just destroy the need for that. So it was ignored. Which leads to my main complaint about the whole work: The author ignores things that don't fit into his wanted scene-progression, and bends characters to get it to somehow in some way work. Not just in these two scenes, it happens in minor scenes as well.

With foreign names I'd not be surprised if it's mostly the first, meaning the their "romanization" is correct, as it's not really a romanization, but rather the name it was supposed to be in the first place.
If it's Japanese names, then it's probably a romanization fail.

Anyone here play this recently? I downloaded this when a link was posted here a month ago and am only now just getting around to trying to set it up. However even after mounting the discs and trying to run the installer, it comes up with an error message that it can't open pietaexec.exe, but upon looking at the files on the disc, it's clear that this file is indeed on the disc.

I did try manually taking all the files from both discs and putting them in their own directory, but then trying to run the game leads to error messages like "could not find install.ini so it is possible the game is not installed" despite there clearly being a file by this name in the directory. Of course I try running as an administrator and all that good stuff, but to no avail. I do realize this is a somewhat obscure game though, so its understandable if no one has run into these issues.

The main route is quite alright. It's not perfect, but I wouldn't call it shit. The other routes are an issue, but you don't have to play them if you don't want to for ero or Nobuchina jokes. The main-route + common is pretty much one flowing story. The rest feels in some ways more like extras... although it's like half the game, so it's a bit weird.

Regardless, I'd still recommend it to people who like comedy and don't mind moege too much. Even if it's just Pato's route + the omake from the guide book, it should be fun enough.

That said, while it's a moege, don't confuse it with a mainly romance focused work. That's not what it is, or at least I fell like that. It's there, but the game cares more about the funny stuff and somewhat of a "plot" than mindless flirting and dates.

Fureraba's idiot protagonist is a bag of fun, and the game's route structure in general works completely without harem stuff, with the player focusing on one girl from the word go. The game has name input at the beginning but you'd be better off leaving it at default because the default name is voiced + the protagonist's personality is pronounced enough to not really be a self-insert. However I didn't like Hayase Yuu's other games that much (to the point I couldn't really finish even one route) so he might be a one-trick pony or simply overexposure in my case, though I'm still having pretty high hopes for Making*Lovers since it looks like they're doing something a bit different with it.

Shigeta's games are pretty fantastic and I can wholeheartedly recommend all his games I've played: Pricchi has an actual story to go with the moe so it's hard to call it a regular moege and an amazing protagonist to boot, Twinkle Crusaders is way more light story wise and the protagonist is also decent if not as pronounced + he's voiced in battles like Pricchi's protag and completely voiced in the fan disc's main story. As bit of a downside Twinkle Crusaders' main game is seriously fucklong. MagiCha was also pretty great for two heroines at least, though its card system is a bit wonky and the main story has kind of crappy pacing with the vast majority of the game having no main plot stuff whatsoever (yet clearing all the heroine routes is required) until the very final route when things finally kick into gear. Nevertheless it's great if you're looking for moege and Orietta was pure love. I'm hyped for Paradise Ocean as well.

LxC and Cation games in general are more self-inserty, though LxC's protagonist really rubbed me the right way and has more character than the rest, however some of the routes in the first game supposedly have really shitty drama. Other games don't really delve into that sort of stuff or at least the routes I played didn't. Cation games in general seem to get a bit too heavily into H-scenes when the dating starts, much more than the other games I mentioned. Also of note is that the the games have different writers, with Insider's LxC1 and 2 being my favorites and leaps and bounds above the rest.

What's a vocab level?
If you're starting out I recommend reading things you did in English in Japanese like Gyakuten Saiban or even Pokemon or something. That way you're not stuck wondering what's going on with the plot.
The best thing to do though is read things you enjoy. Manga, VNs, Games etc. just things you like.

Doesn't really matter if he's alive or not it's just the fact a moege has a girl who still wants another guy, that ruins the route for me.
I get you clearly like them and that's fine but I'm sure other people like me would feel kinda bad that you're dating somebody who has feelings for somebody else. Sure it makes for a good story but not really a moege, at least to me.

Not quite on topic, but this is the general: trying to remember the name of an eroge from the '90s . It was a version of Uno where you got a semi-interactive CG with the girl who lost (just stripping, gradually vacuuming the mist as she gets out of the bath, etc.) Windows 3.1 or a very showing its age PC-98 port to Win95. I don't remember if it was translated, but it was definitely passing around the western scene at that time in the same packs that included things like the Lakers games and Dragon Knight 4.

You are half right I read it but held CTRL a few times when things got boring, it's a habit.
It's been a while since I read it. If memory servers right

Inori is bitchy cause of her brother, she treats Hanasaki the way she does because she sees her brother in him plus he can be annoying. Their relationship was partially built from her seeing him as her brother, if she didn't see him as that their relationship would develop differently. Maybe she would've been shyer or more withdrawn etc.
Kuon on the other hand repeated the same year because of Asuka and refuses to move on, that's her miren.

I guess from these I grew to dislike kuon because of how much another guy had that much affect on her life. And inori from how she grew to like Hanasaki while partially seeing Asuka in him and she threatened to cheat on him for not fucking her good enough. I get it's a joke but I've dropped heroines for far less. Plus she's just kinda dickish in general to Asuka. I'm not really a fan of those kinds of characters.

Still that's what I remember, I may wrong about this. I'll proabably re-read their routes this weekend, to see make sure. It shouldn't take long.

Finished Otome Domain.

Completely unremarkable, though by no means bad either. Drama in heroine routes is the usual flimsy jealousy, "I'm not good enough", or "just be urself" type of stuff and planned marriage because that drama is in every single ojousama heroine game at least once, overall everything you'd expect out of this kind of game with no surprising solutions or other unexpected stuff at all. The reason I'm specifically mentioning these is that I feel a bit cheated since some anon in an earlier thread described Otome Domain with words such as "wild ride", "unlike anything I've seen in eroge", "meta" or "shocking" that forced him have to calm his nerves, like what the fuck dude how have you managed to play only moege that are even lighter than Otome Domain? The game's drama is vanilla 101.

Kazari and Yuzu's routes were both rather boring though piss fetishists might like the former as a heroine. Only Hinata's struck a chord with me a bit. I liked how it emphasized somewhat more that the protagonist is a boy in girls' clothing since he was able to befriend her better due to understanding Hinata's chuuni stuff and liking boyish hobbies in similar vein (playing games, discussing what is the coolest real life gun, airsoft etc.), a thing that doesn't really get brought up in other routes and I would've loved more of that type of antics. Her last drama was pretty similar to Yuzu's normal trite with characters acting like retards for a change, though Hinata route's last scene was pretty clever and I personally liked it. Another shorter drama I sort of liked was in common route when the protagonist is about to leave and the girls have a surprise birthday party for him. That scene was pretty heartwarming.

Much of the humor is "the trap protagonist is actually the girliest cutest girl in the school" or other usual running gags as per regular eroge operating procedure. Overall a game you start, look at the trap protagonist and heroines then decide whether you like them enough to do their routes or drop the game, since it's not like they go through some profound changes during their routes so no need to be scared of missing out on something big. Would've preferred them to just focus more on SoL or humor in fact even if they weren't really remarkable either, since the drama definitely isn't the game's strongest point. Though there were few annoying parts, thankfully the drama doesn't get overbearing enough to hog play time to the point it really starts to grind your gears.

Essentially a "you get exactly what you order" type of game.

It's not that I'm self inserting, just when you play as any character or have a main character. You kinda want them to succeed. Stories where your character is picked on for comedic affect isn't done well half the time. Sure he makes jokes and causes trouble in return for others and if it was evened out I'd be fine. However it's really not the case. Some anime/games/VNs do this and just rip apart the MC, sure some might like it but I'm not really a fan.
I'm playing through Kuon's route again now, Asuka really impacted her. It feels like he was the MC of another game or some cool guy that people look up to. It would be nice if he was the MC.

Like they hate being expected to wear cute clothes, hold hands and have sex by Males because they have a pride and like being seen as uniqe individual, now this a completely s feminist opinion, but when you think about, I really hate being seen sloley as a male too.
I know I shouldn't confuse 3D with 2D, but after playing bunch of moege seeing a lot of scences where the heroine blushes all the time, go on date wearing cute clothes and first they do ask the MC how they looks, how they accept a dick after a few days of dating makes me a bit guilty.

You can look at the game in two ways:

-2 unsatisfying routes which feel utterly pointless in the whole scheme, aside of the main-plot which is fine. In fact, the heroines of these 2 routes should probably not even exist.

OR

-Utterly underwhelming final route that fails at being a true/final route. Many of the little mysteries left open in previous routes are not explained, nor does it bother to use all its characters.

No matter what though, the game is heavily lacking in some way. If you want some suspense, you are probably better off reading something else.

You're having an impasse with what's known as gender roles. They are pretty ingrained in Japanese society but especially in otaku circles where otaku have a mental image of the ideal woman who's very feminine and submissive, real women aren't completely like that because they're individuals so otaku run to escapist media (3D pig disgusting etc.). But as others said, maybe you're looking too much into games made to satisfy these otaku, like moege, but if you look for other kind of games (especially older ones) you might find quite a bit of exceptions to the rule.

Newer stuff as well though. It's changing. You still get your old-style stuff every now and then, but it's not as dominating as it was at some point. The ero writers are usually still very old-school, but well. Imagine you are an ero-writer. It's kinda understandable. It's less of an issue for works which are only written by one person, or there's at least no separate ero writer, but the latter can be hard to find out.

That said, there's still a long way to go. The biggest issue right now is often less the girls, but more the protagonist. Most are either walls or a heavy heavy mary sue. For a medium that's so heavily about romance, it's quite amazing how rare it is to have a work featuring an actual couple, as in love between two characters. If one side is just shallow (or a mary sue even), then the other side automatically suffers as well. For example, why does she love a wall?
This still comes from the dating sim ages, but if it's not a dating sim, it's just unfitting. In a dating sim, you can usually answer the "why does she love the protag" with "because I fucking tore my ass off trying to get her as a girlfriend!". The relatively high amount of interactivity helps. Removing all of that however means it's a story, and more often than not.. it fails at being one because the pivotal character, aka the protagonist, isn't actually a character.

I don't care what anybody says I FUCKING LOVE this game so much it's in my top 10.

The references to classic/modern history, philosophy, sciences, mix of computer science and fiction, the story, and especially the characters. My only problem is the battles could use work, the more difficult ones are just making the bosses damage sponges also also the mc kinda get's shoved aside and treated by dirt by people, I wish he was more chad-like like. He is pretty cool looking.
I'd expect nokia to treat him like a fine dick like the slut she is, so I was kinda let down.
All the girls have such amazing designs and personalities. I wish you could date them and I wish some of them were more involved in the story like Reiko and Rina, Mirei too.
Kyouko is the best girl, I wish she'd tease your dick more, so is Reina I wish she more more involved.

So yeah I re-read some parts after every bodies' suggestions and really don't know why I missed those parts that I was confused about, I was a fucking retard. So yeah sorry about that.

I really liked this VN, I just wished the heroine routes were more fleshed out. Yurugi's oddly feels like a bad end. I mean the protagonist even asks 'if being happy like this was the right thing to do' when the route was about to finish. I mean way to kill the mood. He doesn't do that for the other girls, it hurts me because she was the best heroine.
The sex also feels kinda shoe-horned in and the bugs were kinda annoying.
I feel a weak point is the card games, I mean just by telling people's reactions like if somebody is incredibly confident or really quiet, you can tell who's gonna win, however that feels more like a Japanese thing.
I also think kukuri should be the cover girl instead of Sayo it feels that way.
I also find it strange there's no police and everybody just goes along with the bet conditions from their pride alone.

Still overall a really amazing VN.

Finished Dear my Abyss. Already.

What can I say. It was good while it lasted, but there's something missing. Or rather, quite a bit. Now for one thing, there was the fact that the game has an average length of 20 hours on EGS, while the game gets advertised as 25 hours. That may be kinda correct for someone like me when I enjoy stuff and read slow and relaxed... and get distracted by 4chan every now and then, but the game is maybe 700kb. That's Leyline 1 length, which sits at 11 hours at EGS, and is voiced. So I didn't expect this, at all. But there's also the story that kinda ends in a "wait... that was all?" way.

I tried to complete everything, just in case you can get past the final ending screen, but it doesn't seem like it. Which could just be a sequel hook and we get Dear my Abyss 2 in 7 years or whatever, which would be cool. But it could also just be a story with an ending where you still have more questions than answer.
That said, to an extend it's fine as it is. I don't think a work needs to answer everything. And I think the idea to show a story from the view of two "normal" girls, not directly involved in the greater things, although still getting dragged into it to an extend, is kinda nice. Of course they may not get to know everything, many character will remain enigmas and so on, but there's still a good amount of fun to be had. You can also rhyme yourself together a good amount, although you won't get clear answers.
Still, the one thing that's just awkward no matter what is the final ending. It just doesn't feel like that's it. And heaviest is probably Ruu. She is made to be quite interesting in her position (pic related), so I quite hope for a sequel of sorts at some point. It really needs one.

Aside of that, the presentation grows on you. While the characters are mostly silhouettes, there are a lot of backgrounds, which in a way is refreshing, even if they are photos with sometimes more and sometimes less of a filter. They are fairly well done. Music is mostly well done ambience, though towards the last third the game suddenly starts to have a few actual pieces of music and they are damn good. It's mostly just simple piano, but that didn't matter and fit with the mood. Really supported the somewhat heard wrenching scenes for example. (I've seen a lot of VN where those scenes are accompanied by so "overacted" dramatic music, that the music kills the whole impact instead)

tl;dr: I had a ton of fun, but I feel this is just part 1 or something. Regardless of a part 2 coming or not though, I don't regret reading it.

The art thing is deliberate though. There's one part of the game where you see a completely drawn normal sprite.

If I had to take a guess it's part of the game's message. I already wrote this before but, the character are looking essentially just at silhouettes of the others, barely grasping what they are about and having a LOT of wrong ideas about them they attach onto them. The two main pov characters also get to know little to nothing what the other one goes through at the same time.
There are a couple of scenes where you can see the sprites drawn but don't see anything upwards of the mouth, as that's "cut off" at the top of the screen. That probably goes hand in hand with this. And the one time a full sprite without a silhouette is shown fits into it as well. It's a dream so to say. Explaining it too much would go too far, but essentially a character is "made" into what the pov character would want from them which ended up making them normally visible for a short time, until the game tells you the "it's just a dream you won't be waking up from, game over".

So, I don't think the visual part is bad for the game. It's actually fairly fitting with the themes of it.

They aren't filler routes. They shouldn't be filler routes. That's just one way of looking at it. What was done in those was neither bad, nor unfitting for the story. It should've been part of it. But in the end, the final route didn't bother. It was underwhelming.
This is why I wrote, that it would've been better if the author would've just not included the respective characters and plot-strings, if nothing is done with it anyway. That way you could look at the final part positively. Alternatively the final part should've involved the other characters and their "story" as well.

Do note that you can't just completely avoid this by avoiding the routes either, as the first play-through is problematic itself as well. Also, the whole structure gets kinda killed then. In other words, it's not something you can easily fix with skipping certain parts.

This shows up for the crack on Sukebe Elf that girlcelly provided. What do you do in this situation? Run it on a VM or just say "fuck it" and take the potential virus?

>he fell for the antivirus meme
AV software hates cracks, even if they're completely benign.

What does it actually say about the file? If it's just some heuristically-detected nonsense, I'd just ignore it.

>>17512435
it's normal for cracks to be flagged as viruses by some antivirus, since they ARE modified exes.
You can just try running it on VR and try asking if anyone else got a warning.

Isn't it sad? I think the only prolific nukige company left is clockup.

As long as Waffle is still around all hope is not lost, it'd be a sad day if Norn and the like are the only nukige companies left

Eh...? Is your head feeling alright? For prolific nukige companies, you have: Atelier Kaguya, Lune, Bishop, Miel, and tons of small doujin groups like Courreges Ace just to name a few. There's fuckloads of nukige company. In what world is Clockup the only one?

Despite all that, my hit for this year was Ubai's game, so, so good, especially Ema.

Sorry but I don't really consider those prolific nukige companies. Compared to SQUEEZ, Clockup or Guilty, the quality of their works are pretty low budget nowadays. They're cheap shit with the bare minimum number of heroines and shoddy graphics. Except Lune, which is still pretty good, I forgot about them.

And I'm obviously not counting doujin groups. I'm talking about commercial eroge companies.

All 3 games clockup has put out this year are shitty shovelware games too. They only put out one "effort title" per year at most.

All this talk about Noratoto here made me pick it up and man, I'm enjoying it much more than I thought. First pure moege I've truly enjoyed.
The girls there are pretty great. I like the aesthetic of more, uhh, sexier and less straight up cutesy girls. I dunno man it's hard to explain, for reference take Clover Days - that's the moege style I'm used to and am not a big fan of.
So do you guys have any moege recommendations similar to this? I.e. lighthearted, somewhat wacky plot with girls with a more sexy joshikousei appeal and less loli moeblob?

AV software doesn't hate proper, clean cracks where the exe is about the same as it was before the protection was applied. The only reason it gets triggered is because the chinks had to butcher the exe by pasting their shitty message and packing their abomination with upx or mpress. The code they added is what looks like malware, not the game code.
