I also liked how it has a slightly more serious tone and discussed the darker side of Reimu's character. But I gotta say for the last volumes at least I've been enjoying WaHH a bit more. So let me get this straight;
Kosuzu was possessed by the night parade scroll and became hostile due to Yukari's trickery and feeling deceived from people not telling her the truth. Then, Mamizou deals with it by turning into the sun, which ends the effects of the scroll due to it not being night because just burning it would mean that she wouldn't be able to keep it. While it's all happening, Reimu confronts Yukari, and Yukari bullshits her and leaves while Reimu is confused. Then Reimu welcomes Kosuzu into their own group of buddies and Kosuzu dreams of being a "balancer" like Reimu. Did I get that right, or am I missing something?

I was a fan of Harukawa-san's works from before FS got serialized (?) and enjoyed FS as a Touhou fan too. FS did a good job of expanding the world of Touhou even further.

Why the fuck are people angry, did you really delude yourselves into thinking FS would lead to some great earth-shattering change to the overall series? It introduced a character, gave lots of background on other characters like Akyuu, had a few interesting stories and looks into Gensokyo as a setting, showed how the youkai both infiltrate and protect the village, resulted in Mamizou coming into possession of a very powerful object, and concluded with its titular character drinking tea with Reimu and understanding the world she lives in better, and very obviously being put into a future game. Suzunaan is re-opened and now the youkai can get youma books and shit.

Kosuzu "fighting against Reimu and all the youkai" would have been a complete fucking 180 on her entire established character up to that point and would have made no sense due to the conclusion she gave Yukari that youkai and humans can be friends, especially after Aya and Mamizou essentially told her they considered her a friend. Her character arc leads her to the point where she is told everything by Reimu.

What did you people expect? Reimu literally killing a major manga character? A complete overhaul of the barrier or something? This was more like a typical Touhou game. Characters are introduced, an incident happens, it gets solved, and ends with everyone drinking together. "Nothing happens" is Touhou more or less in a nutshell, things progress and characters are introduced to build a more complete Gensokyo, but it takes forever for them to do anything and slowly cause things to happen. WaHH has been running for 7 god damn years and is only just now having actual changes due to Sumireko meeting with Kasen and the Moriya ropeway opening, which also took fucking forever to even complete.

The complaint here should be that the last few chapters were obviously rushed and there could have been a lot more detail and better pacing. Not that "nothing happened". This ending is fitting for FS.
