MGE was an amazing exception and even then, it wasn't perfect. The only reason it turned out "ok" was because KC insisted that they stuck as close as possible to what fans are used to, that's not something to reward them for, it was probably in the terms of the contract.

As was already talked about, there was a mistranslation in the first printing of the books. If you go to the Seven Seas website, you'll see where they issued a correction. Other than that, it's mostly just naming conventions: instead of Sabbath it's Sabbat, Chief God becomes Overlord. They played around with the words to make the loli stuff not seem like loli. I believe it was printed in Canada which is why they probably went through all the trouble, to not get in trouble with the law. But even then, those profiles and pages along with the non-loli stuff is pretty much the same as the fan-made translations. I'm sure there are some minor differences, but the overall concept of each profile is the same between the book and what's online.

The issue I have with the Steelims isn't any Mary Sue or questions of purity or what have you, everyone's different in what they want there so knock yourself out.
