>What do you need to do to get in the cockpit of trains in Japan?
They're not "in the cockpit", they're standing by the entrance, the ticket machine is to their left and the driver is further to the left.
Some trains, generally on small/old/quiet lines have the driver's cockpit on one side and the doors are on the other side so he can deal with people paying for tickets and such, in a bus kind of a manner (people get on at the back, pay their fair or drop their ticket in the front on the way out).

>> No.17328880

>>17328871
Don't be silly, you do need a lot of documents indeed but
1) the invitation is needed only if you're visiting someone, which you probably aren't
2) do you not have a bank account? All they need to know is your balance
3) you have to come up with an itinerary anyway, don't you think it's good if you carefully plan out a trip to the goddamn other side of the world?

It's a scary process indeed but you shouldn't be afraid as long as you have the money. As for me, I aggressively saved up for years until I could do afford it, but I'm not rich or anything, just a normal estrato 3 nigger.

> carefully plan out a trip

I wish I could just book a flight along a tourist group and skip all this hassly shit but I can't find one since the last one left in 2014. Most agencies just give you the flight to Japan but no guide.

I also don't want to travel to the capital to deal with this Visa shit because fuck Bogota and cachacos in general.

>> No.17328974

>>17328901
I admit the process of getting the documents is long but it's not hard. Work certifications and bank statements are usually ready in one business day.

Not having an itinerary before going to Japan though? Don't ever do that, even if the whiteys here in 4chan just tell you to "b urself xD" and walking around without a destination. You WILL get lost in Tokyo and waste a really fucking important chunk of your short stay there, which for us third world niggers is insanely expensive already. On top of that, retarded touristy agencies are even more expensive and take you to meme places in a super tight and tiring schedule, so please, don't ever fucking go there without an itinerary, visa requirement or not. Hell, I could just give you my itinerary and the embassy will be okay with that.

Yeah, coming to Bogota is a real pain but there are some agencies that will send the documents for you. Keep in mind the embassy doesn't really like this though.

In any case, are you letting your hate for Bogota shadow your love for weebland?

>> No.17328995

Ugh, hope you don't mind the botched nigger English there but I'm tired as hell and want to go to sleep.

I'll sage all my posts from now on and check this thread tomorrow in case you haven't lost your motivation. I could tell you how the entire process went for me if you want.

I'll be blunt right now though: I was at first partially rejected because I only had 5M COP in my bank account, so I had to borrow 10M, turn in the new bank certificate and only after that my visa was approved. Don't even try to get the visa without at least 15M COP in your account unless you want to be called from the embassy to be told your visa will be rejected.

I've found Truck-kun! The infamous killer of Japanese children (red circle) just barrelled though the intersection, ramped up the footpath, narrowly missed a female pedestrian and sped over the kerb into the car park (blue line), barely slowing down the entire time. The green circles are the proper entrances into the shop. That was so bloody dangerous. It's no wonder truck drivers are rightly getting a bad rep in manga.

Last I remember VLC doesn't even work with youtube links right now. I think it did in some of the betas or something.
Actually ffmpeg seems to not work with youtube links either so you will have to download youtube-dl and put it in the bin file of fmpeg together with the exe files. The commands should be the same, but starting with youtube-dl.exe instead. Or google details.

It's interesting to watch the contrast between these two videos, not just the lights and scenery, but the kind of people out and even just the speed they walk at. Here on a Friday evening, one has people of all ages taking it easy like they are wandering home, another has a mass of young single people or groups that look like they are eager to start their night. Both have groups of exhausted salarymen in white shirts, but in Uedo they are wandering across the street with takeaways, while in Kabukicho they are briskly walking in rowdy groups to their favourite watering hole.

Thanks, I followed your instructions and finally got it working through youtube-dl + the windows version of ffmpeg. It keeps giving me a "system cannot find file specified" when I try to put options in the format given by the documentation.

Less than half an hour later an you would never have guessed a parade was here. Not even a spec of rubbish you would normally see after parades in my area.

This was a fun stream. The children were adorable with their shouts of "Yosai!" and the adults were crazy with their shrine spins. Fun for the whole family.

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few reasons:
The property the camera is located looks like it is private property (see >>17358598)
Both I and the guy taking the video seem to have connection problems, so the internet from the location may not be strong enough for constant streaming.
I have been watching this stream on and off over the past week and I seem to be the only one watching it. Even Bessho train station gets more viewers with around a dozen at peak time, never mind the Kabukicho street stream. So there doesn't seem to be a demand for it.

I took a trip on it this June. I've been slammed at work ever since I got back from my holiday, so I've not had chance to sort though my pictures yet but I want to post some.

It was rainy, but the mist rising from the valley was unbelievable. It felt like a strange, eerie, lonely stretch of line the day I visited. I imagine it's different on a touristy summer day though.

Of all the lines I went on and the places I visited it's at the top of my list of places to revisit.

Don't forget about the fireworks display in roughly 25 hours time.

Also, I found this little HD webcam of TEN train tracks. It's quite busy with plenty of trains, everything from bullet trains to cargo trains passing every few seconds at peak times. But there is no lighting at night, which would suck for Euros, and the broadcasting doesn't seem to be constant.

I was wrong. Best way to watch this show was with both streams side by side, a literal explosion of colour across two screens.

What a great show. I'm amazed at how complex Japanese/Asian fireworks are, much better than the plain fireworks we have. My personal favourites were the ones that exploded like Saturn (a large ball with a ring of white) followed by a smaller ball of a different colour inside. Brilliant stuff.

Yeah, it has quite a lot of junctions for such a small area, but once I used the Sun to eliminate most junctions, it was easy enough to find.
Interesting fact!:
Tokyo police car number 240 passes through the area roughly every 40 minutes, depending on traffic. So if you want to rob some yakuza "massage parlour" in the area, do it 20 minutes after the police car has last past. This way, the yakuza can skin you alive in peace without any pesky law enforcement getting in the way.

Gosh, I decided to record this stream for the hell of it today and have footage of the transition from dawn to day but can't figure out how to make ffmpeg simultaneously trim the video and speed it up.

Surely if I am dueling lvl 40 Kaiba I will have a bigger chance of getting the SR cards, in other words, Enemy Controller?

Really enjoying this one. Thanks.

I really dislike it when its pitch black. It just looks like a crappy camp surveillance camera or some flick from the 1930s or something.

But otherwise I really dig it when its light and you can see the greenery.

That's pretty overkill for something a $100 IP camera would have done just fine

recorded a decent one this afternoon

Is it a private line or a JR line? Seems a bit weird for a line to be closed for so many years, especially in a country that's famous for replacing destroyed infrastructure within a week.

Next winter i am going to put that on a loop on one of my extra monitors and pretend it's live, so comfy.

It's a JR line.
I believe there are plans for repairs, maybe they have even started on it.
Remember, though, that the line isn't completely closed, it goes about 50% of the original length and it is still used by people who live west of Aizu-Wakamatsu.

Looking on Google Maps satellite view it looks like two bridges are down actually, after Honna and Aizu-Yokota.

I imagine the two other stations will look nice in the snow, if they get any. Bessho might be too far south?

Just found these traffic cams:
http://live.lcv.ne.jp/cgi-bin/road/
Resolution is pretty shit but framerate seems to be decent on the streams that i checked, will have to give it another look tomorrow and see if there is anything interesting to see.
