Honestly people, stop replying to obvious trolls. If you see 'XD', 'omg', etc. don't even bother responding. Yes, I know, there's a chance that they're newfriends that don't know any better, but ignoring them is still the best course of action. When you see a post asking for sauce on Tsukihime, don't respond. If you see a post asking for sauce on WtK and the guy says he's been in the hospital for the last two months, it's probably safe to tell him.

The 'thurs moar thn animu in jpn' threads. STOP POSTING IN THEM. Even if some asshat replies, don't respond, it's most likely the OP talking to himself anyway.

The biggest problem I've been seeing recently is people responding completely seriously to everything, like there's actually discussion to be had out of a topic, asking stupid questions. >> No.1722130

Shit, I just realized that as I was idling and browsing /jp/, the playtime counter on RE4 jumped up about 3 and a half hours.

>> No.1722185

/jp/ doesn't need any more janitors. Regardless of who gets the job they will have opinions of their own on how the future of the board should turn out and they will act according to those opinions. The only real problem we have here is trolling and the trolls are VERY easy to spot and ignore. If you see a thread you don't like, HIDE IT. If you see an obvious troll, REPORT IT. If you see a troll that's original and funny, just let it go. We don't need every off topic thread reported, they're usually better than most of the touhou/typemoon threads anyway.

I might be biased, but leave the pedo threads alone. I enjoy them a lot and I ask that if you don't like them, please just hide them.

>> No.1722199

>> No.1722229

>>1722185

Do you see what /jp/ has become? Do you understand? If we were having this conversation months ago you'd have a point. But there is a significant presence of unwelcome outsiders from /r9k/ and the like here now, and I don't think banning athens alone will get rid of them. After all, look how many athens imitators have sprung up as soon as the niche emptied. Ignoring those problems don't make them go away. When we gave in to the idolfags, they went from one thread to two. Complacency brings ruin. If the foreign barbarians aren't cast out they'll continue to multiply until /jp/ is merely an annexed province of /b/.

But yeah, the pedo threads should just be left alone.

>> No.1722264

What do you expect the mods to do about newfriends? All they can do is reinforce the rules, they can't force anyone to learn about the true nature of the board beforehand. They'll remove our good offtopic and loli threads while ignoring the 'lol im going to japan with my girlfriend' threads. In the end we'll be losing our freedom in exchange for the one REALLY BAD troll thread you see every two or three hours and those can be ignored, hidden, and reported.

There are different kinds of pedo threads. We have the 'Hey, I was with my loli cousin and we spent all day at the park I saw her panties and they were really cute.' kind of pedo thread and then we have the 'lol hai guise i can rationalize the legalization of rape cp' kind. Find a random Anonymous like me or you, one that won't go mad with power, and make him a moderator. Watch all the shitty threads disappear nigh-instantaneously with judicious use of board bans.

The picture you're painting is what we have right now, except that one faggot janitor is almost never around to ruin shit. Obviously I would never advocate some kind of censorship crackdown.
