I used to fuck around with bombard towers and shit and send siege engines plowing through forests snaking around behind people. I would lose vs. anyone who knew how to play, but AoE 2 is one of those games like RA2 where the surest way to not have fun is by playing to win.

God, this fucking thread makes me want to reinstall and play a little for the hell of it. I wasn't that fond of it, fucking whims and urges.

I tried to shift them over to Starcraft. Didn't work.

lol coincidence I just installed Age of Empires II again after several years, and just destroyed some coreans as the Japanese in a random map.

Civ and Master of Orion was good but multiplayer is just boring...... in the end stages turns can easily take 1 hour + on a large map... and the player that wins is usually the player who spends the most time microing.

Korea has and always will be better than Japan. They have never done anything wrong. They just wanted to be left alone, but the Chinese and the Japanese during their power hungry days felt they overpower the innocent Koreans and they did. I will always support Korea, and I hope you guys do the right thing and support them as well.

I definitely recommend it highly.

It's just so much different from any other RTS I've ever played. It introduced some entirely new concepts. (Or at least ones I've never seen used before).

Yeah, I've had a lot of people recommend it to me. It's just a matter of making time and getting around to it. Recently I've been playing some old Koei games like Nobunaga's Ambition (fucking first few turns jesus fuck) and now I'm downloading AoE 2 again because of this thread.

Same here. I just got done with Red Alert 3, so I'll torrent SupCom now. I always loved the scale of the game I saw in trailers, just never got around to getting it.

Am I the only one that thinks Master of Orion is overrated? all the races are exactly the same except a portrait and stat bonuses and diplomacy is shit... I preferred I think Star Trek birth of the federation is a better TBS, simply because all 5 races were completely different, different buildings, different units, different play style and hundreds of minor races to interact with.

Any of you playing Galactic Civilizations 2? True successor to MoO2, IMO.
