Does the engine stop when the train goes all PTSUUUUSH and it gets fairly quiet. You can still hear some bizarre sounds. I don't know much about the mechanics of trains. Its a really satisfying sound though.

Imagine taking the morning train to school in your small, out of the way, coastal town with your friends and seeing your cute JC/JK crush on the train as well and smiling at her and getting a shy smile back
Feeling on top of the world because of a simple smile, because you're a student and you don't really have any immediate responsibilities or important things to deal with, just living your life and growing up and experiencing new things like love and friendships. If neither you or your crush have any real desire to move to the big city, you'll probably get work at a family business or something, settle down, get married and live a nice comfy life.

Up to episode 3 right as the MC asks her to go out with him. It hurts as you said and takes alot to just watch an episode hence why I'm so behind. But there he is, the MC throwing caution to the wind like that and asking her out. Already know they get together but that's besides the point.

I have no idea what you are talking about, sadly.
My issue with that station is that if I leave it open on VLC, it'll be loaded with gray screen errors and even disconnects after a while.
If I leave it recording through OBS directly at the browser, after 15~30mins of no activity the stream stops.

>> No.17163751

>>17163729
Ah, fair enough. You'd need to be able to reliably keep it open for however many hours with VLC or something in order to do what I was thinking of.

Basically you'd write a batch file that told VLC to open the stream and record it to disk and stop after a set amount of time, and then create a scheduled task in Windows to start the recording when you wanted it.

Any of you dudes who already took the train trip remember how much it ended up costing you? I was thinking of going on a big trip in the next few years and I have Japan as one of my top destinations.
I also have some experience travelling with trains, but so far I've only done longer trips on crappy Yugo trains. On that note, anybody feel like sharing train stories? I only have two or three, but none of them are from Japan so I'm not sure whether you guys would be cool with them. I'm really just fishing for stories.

I'd recommend a Japan Rail Pass. It's like Inter-rail for Japan. You get to use all JR-trains, except the commuter shinkansen (Nozomi and Mizuho). They cost from ~250$ to 550$, for 7 to 21 days. There are also regional variations and the seishun-18 ticket.
Last time I went, in 2015, I budgeted around 10 000 yen per day for food and accommodations, but you can get by with considerably less than that, especially if you use hostels, ABnB, and don't splurge on food and drinks.

>> No.17165208

>>17165117
>10 000 yen per day for food and accommodations
Mind telling me how that was split between food and the accomodations?
If I do end up going I'll be doing hostels and the cheaper stuff in general. Do you think ABnB is viable? I've done it before, but that was in countries where people spoke English and with people who could at least to some extent speak the native language, which is the thing that worries me about Japan. Doing couchsurfing in a country where people are terrible at English is a bit intimidating, and I seriously doubt my Slavic language with less than 3 million speakers or bad German will get me far there.

>> No.17165233

>>17165208
I'd say around 7k on accommodation and 3k on food.
I havn't tried ABnB in Japan, so can't comment much on that. Japanese people generally don't speak much English, but are always eager to help, so I think you'd get by just fine.

>> No.17165284

>>17165233
I know a few Japanese people and they seem like the kind of people who wouldn't refuse to help, even if just out of politeness hah
How did you work around the whole most signs and announcements are in Japanese thing? Apologies if you actually speak Japanese and I made the wrong assumption.

>> No.17165328

>>17165284
I actually teach Japanese.
All train stations are labeled in English, and most trains also have screens announcing stops in English. You can also get pre-paid data sim cards for your smartphone for navigation and basic translations. I think they cost around 3000 yen for 14 days, well worth it. Many restaurants also have picture menus, and some also have English menus.

I that constant feeping / high tone at Bessho-Onsen always there? I really want some sound, but the tone is too distracting

>> No.17232916

>>17236227
This camera must be hanging onto the pole by a thread if it vibrates this much every time a train passes.
