>> No.16928214

>>16928204
Well you can just push the buttons up one and switch spacebar with some other key that's one below.

Also it's recommended that you bind a scratch button to your other hand as well because when there starts appearing a shit ton of scratches, it will be very difficult to do them on just one scr button. So you should learn to alternate scratch.

My mentality has been that if I'm going to use two hands to play the keys, why not just play DP. Alas, I suck at the game so my opinion is worthless.

I haven't done a lot of research on the Sinobuz dojo thing. Is there any benefit to selecting grades which are lower than the one you earn on the song? You get a AAA and there's some AA keys on the choice - so are those better choices? Does the difficulty ranking of the song make a difference? Or is it better to AAA a 3* instead of AA a 9*?

Meme configs like that aren't really that good, feel shitty to play on.

Instead if you are switching to controller you could put keys in similiar spots like, instead of pressing 4 with your thumb, put it to right index and stuff.

If you are going to play mostly kb it's better to just use a normal kb layout though. IIDX style layouts feel awkward because keyboard buttons are so tiny.

>> No.16930867

To the keyboard players, I'm really struggling to do trills with myleft ring and middle fingers, would it be advisable to switch to using my pinky instead? I have no clue how long I'd have to play to get it up to par (and un-learn doing stairs with my ring), but thinking it might be worth it if I switch over to a controller.

Just landed a job so I consider buying one for summer, speaking of that; what's the recommended DAO controller/switches?

I was recommended by an anon in the previous thread to start using both thumbs, now I'm thinking I might swap out the ring fingers as well since I'm having to learn new keys anyway and have been struggling with ring/middle patterns like these for as long as I've been playing:

FP7/FPS depending on budget. All you really need is 25/50g Omron switches. 10g would probably be much too light without custom springs.
Sanwas are most likely a waste of money unless you play at an arcade as well.

That person looks up to people clearing 9s and 10s, and those people to people clearing 11s and 12s. And everyone would probably agree that they're not good yet, or at least not good enough. There's really no certain point when you can say that you're good. I mean, everyone who's played over 1 hr is good to laymen, but there's an enormous hill to conquer after that.

I get enjoying keysounds or finding them neat and preferring them, but for it to be a non-negotiable demand to even play the game, and that pounding your keyboard randomly to Youtube videos is comparable is quite frankly insane.
I personally find SDVX makes me feel a lot more a part of the music than any other Bemani game.
I honestly can't even tell when I'm playing a non-keysounded game in Pop'n. It's still just as much fun as every other song to me.
If it existed, I would rather play 8K Stepmania with a Beatmania skin and auto generated charts than IIDX. Notes in sync to the music is far more important to me than feeling like I'm actually making the song.

I'm probably better at timing that you are. AAAs are trivial for me to achieve. It's simply a game of mentally compensating for the shit off sync gameplay. And it has to be off sync by definition because of muh keysounds.
Considering the lag between when you're hitting the keys and when the sound is being played, and the obnoxious frame based timing, which makes all but the most specific of BPM songs even harder to time, IIDX is so severely flawed, it can hardly even be called a rhythm game anymore.

Meanwhile, in Stepmania, you hit the keys when you expect the note in the song. No lag, no mental compensations. Straightforward like a rhythm game should be. Getting AAAs or even AAAAs, even on Judge 6 or 7, which makes IIDX's windows look looser than the oldest whore in Vegas, is simple.

Because the type of people that play osu are the type of people that ONLY play osu.
Because of this you end up with a charting circlejerk which is further enforced by the BATs. Because the BATs arbitrarily decide what are "good patterns" or "a good chart" people end up sticking to the charting meta rather than branching out and trying experimental shit.
Because of this charting is pretty stagnant in osumania especially in comparison to games like Stepmania, BMS and beatmania; where people push the boundaries of their charting and are free to experiment.
With these games, there are no arbitrators aside from the communities as a whole. The actual community decides what's good, not some NEET in a basement.

The insistence on mapping a HID device is pure cancer, it's stunning that all they've done is go "lol works for me :)" and ignored the issue.

I can plug in another keyboard and it works fine, and a few years back I had the same issue with Tricoro that was solved with a dll swap, but that dll is long gone.

Why don't you just go drink a gallon of bleach.

So your case is that you happen to use the software other people have created over the years. It doesn't work on your system.

The solution that you come to is go and call these people names because this issue, which you haven't reported cause "you're not autistic enough" to talk to them on the community where they are, and after that when no one figuratively sucks you off and develops a solution (that might take fucking tens to hundreds of hours of work if we don't have that fucking file you talk of), you continue to berate the people to which you complained about this problem of yours. And then you say that they don't have the basic DECENCY to help you.

Is there anything, fucking ANYTHING, in your behaviour that might make other people likely to help you? Hmm? You fucking think about that?

Your behaviour is literally on the level of a child. I didn't really care before, but after your posts I hope from the bottom of my heart that bxg and all the other public sources go down, if for nothing else than to keep cancer like you out.

It'd take any of you cunts 2 seconds to search it up on sows and post the fix, but you're clearly far too busy to bother. If this was some major issue then I might approach the situation with a little more decorum, but it's a fucking tiny one with a 3 dollar fix when none of you have the braincells to use a search function, or the balls to risk being banned by some autistic admin who is probably watching the forums right now like a hawk to ensure that nobody leaks anything to an "outsider".

I hope your little circlejerk club dies one night, and then you all run around screaming like headless chicken for weeks because you're incapable of doing anything by yourselves, and require constant spoonfeeding. That is not how it works. You are awarded the best judgement possible for any given input, whether it happens to be early or late. If you miss the first note of scratches/jacks, you can hit the following notes just fine. If you hit only the 8th notes of set of 16th scratches, you will alternate between getting PGREAT and POOR.

When you gets BADs, it's because you hit one too many notes, and so you're getting all early BADs. You can never chain late BADs.

This is basically what I did, but instead of using a laser cutter like a crazy man, I just bought a ~10cm disc and used a drill with the same thickness as my rotary encoder. Then I just superglued a little piece of flat plastic over the edge of the hole to make a perfect D shape. Then I glued wax paper to both the bottom of the disc, and the top of the controller

The issue with this is that I was slightly off on my measurement so it's a little wonky, but you can't actually tell during play. It's also not super SMOOTH.

If I was doing it all again, honestly, I'd buy a DJ hero controller, maybe take out the buttons and flatten down that side of the controller, and then just use that. It's a very smooth disk with a nice surface already, the only issue is that it's a little oversized, but you can pick one up for 10 bucks.

Depends on how fast the pattern is. You can cover 1/2 just fine with your left. For 3/5, you can either bring over your index/middle if there are no other patterns going on at same time. Otherwise, just try your best to handle it with your right thumb, since you're hit possibly the hardest thing there is to handle with taka.s

its not that the hs-sirius era charts are bad, but there are loads of fucked up ratings in there that arent super apparent to higher level players so they don't get why people complain about them. like 3y3s [n], a 7 with a 5 beginning and 9.9 ending. or air raid from the undaground [h] which is rated a 9 when it's a low-mid 10

you can argue that this happens because iidx only got 12 levels and still has to sort out the ratings from happy sky changes but then you have the same shit in dm/gf (same rating scale until xg where they just added a decimal never used so as a matter of fact nothing changed) and popn where they just added a couple of numbers out of 40+ just to set apart a couple of boss songs
