So these threads are on /jp/ now huh.

I'm not sure if this constitutes as "asking for a translation" but I'm having trouble with やるだけやってみねーとな here. I can't understand what やるだけ in front is doing exactly.

Doing some googling around I found this explanation: "Verb-dictionary form + だけは + (same) Verb-casual, past = to do all that one can" but the form is not precisely what's in the manga (for instance, no は) so I'm not sure if I can apply it.

If I did apply it, then the result for やるだけやってみねーとな would be something like "I have to try for all that I can/to the best of my ability".

Can anyone confirm if I'm right? If not, then whats going on here exactly?

If you want them, yes. It would be a hell of a lot of workd, letting you know in advance. Each sentence is going to have to be manually altered as per the following example:

Has to be changed to
> 何[なに]も 不平[ふへい]を 言[い]わないからと 言[い]って 現状[げんじょう]に 満足[まんぞく]しているわけではない。
If the spaces aren't exact, the furigana will end up randomly spread across the top of the sentence instead of above the words.

What's the purpose of わけ here? She doesn't have to conclude anything from reason because　風香 doesn't have to deduce anything; she's just explaining something she already knows, right?. Also, why is it なわけ? On DoJT it says that な only comes before わけ for na-adjectives, not nouns (which I'm pretty sure おばあちゃん is this sentence). Am I missing something?

It depends on the context. If someone does too much of something, it does indeed mean "appropriate/moderate extent"; if, however, they do too little of it, the meaning is closer to "lukewarm", "half hearted".

It's speech, anon. というわけ is one thing but っていうわけ is easier to say, てゆう even easier. When it borders with an ん sounds, similar to っていう/ってゆう, it's basically just opening your mouth and slurring the sound out and with ん to bridge into わけ, promoting な.
Try to understand that textbook grammar rules are descriptions of what is understood as "correct" structure, etc.
There are many commonly used things, like そんで, which aren't even covered in the A Dictionary of Japanese Grammar series books.

It's not. It's very Japanese. Dialogue in manga, etc. is full of things which will probably sound very weird if you expect to see a 1:1 with a grammar guide or textbook. There are certain things you have to learn to accept.

I'm not sure what gave you the ankidrone impression when I strongly advocated reading and mining over doing premade decks, but it's good that you got fired up. That's the point. I just want everyone to do the best they can, but a lot of people in these threads are very lazy and need kicks in the butt to get anything done.

The only way to "fix" that is mindlessly mining everything you find and creating a backlog, thus stripping mined words from context and turning them into nothing more than what Core is meant to be.

On average I do 30 minutes of anki a day. Most of that time is spent on saying the core sentences out loud to practice pronounciation. Sometimes I record myself to hear mistakes better.

I always do all my mined cards the day I add them, no matter how much I mined.
I don't know if I'm reading too little, I just make do with what interests me. I spend a lot more time listening though.

Average of 30 minutes a day on Anki. Of which you say most is apparently miscellaneous core exercises. So about 14 minutes or less on cards you mined. You do ALL cards (for some questionable reason) the day you mine them. This book is /kind of/ okay, but only because of its introduction, the fact that it gives vocabulary alongside kanji, and the fact that it's short. If it's actually the kind of book you want, go for it, but keep in mind that reading and learning vocabulary are your real goals, not something abstract like "learning kanji".

If you look at "every day conversations", yes, adverbs, proper names, and consumable goods will be more common and words like "angel" will be less, but by no means are words like "business" or "transaction" more common in casual conversation than in fiction. One thing that bothers me is when a Kanji I haven't had in KKLC pops up in core2k as it is much harder to remember than if I already learned it. Might there be a way I can filter entries by their Kanji and gradually unsuspend core cards after I learned the Kanji? It would be really convenient if I could tailor it to support my KKLC studies like that so if someone has an idea on how I could achieve that I'd really appreciate it.
