How terrible are you in Danmaku? Let's see who's the worst player at 2hu games.

>> No.16807245

I fucking SUCK. I still haven't beat any of the games (except for HRtP) in anything above Easy.

>> No.16808157

I'm the same, yet I can't stop playing. It's awful and I'm awful.

>> No.16808173

One time I got to the last part of PCB on normal but I ran out of continues and died to the tree.

>> No.16808193

I have occasionally made it to stage six bosses without a continue but Remi, Yuyuko, and Eirin all absolutely push my shit in and after a month or two of trying I gave up.

This was about five years ago now.

>> No.16808201

Dude, i really suck at Danmaku.
Like, i've only beat EoSD, PCB and IN in the normal mode with continues.
And well, recently i've played TH15 and i can't beat Clownpiece on normal mode, and on easy i always loss like one or two continues. :(

Me. I never got past patchy in EoSD on normal.

I know all the touhou lore and read all the reading material but i never even cleared a game, it's too hard for me, having ADHD and poor hand eye coordination to add insult to injury.

>> No.16808514

I'm the worst of you lot. I don't even know what "2hu" is.

>> No.16808551

Well, I only managed to beat PCB, IN and SA on Easy without continues (also EOSD but that doesn't count as it won't let you go to stage 6 on Easy)

I've managed to finish EOSD in Normal but using atleast one continue. I'm currently trying to beat it without using them, at the same time I'm trying to finish UFO on easy without using any continues.

Been only playing the series since 1 month (starded from EOSD and skipped the fighting games for now) and never played Danmaku games in my life but I really enjoy it because it's so rewarding when you manage to win after trying a lot.

By the way I forgot to add, if by any chance someone who is actually good at the game is looking at this thread, how much months/years it took for you to get atleast decent at it? or finishing all the games in atleast Normal without continues?

>> No.16808659

>>16808581
getting good at anything is not a matter of how many months pass, it's all about the hours you spend doing that thing

>> No.16808679

>>16808581
This
>>16808659
I started playing in Fall of 2014 and it took me 2 months to 1cc all the integer games from 6 to 14 on Normal. But I absolutely fell in love with the games (I feel like I'm a rare case insofar as I was entirely introduced to the characters, music, etc through the games alone) and was playing for multiple hours nearly every day. So it's hard to know whether that's slow or fast, and obviously it's the actual hours spent playing that count.

>> No.16808736

>>16808659
>>16808679
Oh my bad, I forgot about the hours, I know some people that play other games for like 4 years and they are still bad at them just because they don't have as many hours in total while another guy that has only been playing that game for 2 is better because he invested much more time on it.

To be honest I haven't got much hours of gameplay on it yet, but I'm planning to do so, also must say that I've knew about Touhou for like 7 years and never tried them till now and goddamn I was missing out, I guess there is still time even if I came late to the party.

>> No.16808753

~Hard player here. When I wanted to 1cc the games, it took me a couple serious evening sessions to get a normal clear. Playing a nice session each evening should be enough for a 1cc in a week.
If not, then you might need help.
It also depends on the game a bit, some are easier to memorize, some are plainly about dodging.

>> No.16808779

>>16807241
Personally I can't tell if I shit, or pretty decent.
I can beat Lunatic on EoSD, PCB, and Hard on IN with continues, but I still have to use them even on Normal.
It's always the Stage 5 boss that kick me in, but Stage 6, at worse, loss 3 lives.
I'm being trying MoF and some of the other games, but it hard to get use to the new system. I thinking about really practicing after exams are over.

>> No.16808810

I'm really bad but only played Cave games. I can't even count how many bullets show up. How many are there in Touhou games?

>> No.16808837

I can't even get back to playing. I just have to be perfect until like stage 4... dying before that just results in restart. I just can't play anymore. Too depressing to even fucking try anymore

>> No.16808876

>>16808659
Spending a lot of time doesn't guarantee that you will be good at that thing. Things like how efficient the practice is and the person's natural predisposition to perform well at the games affects how long it takes to improve. Yes, I'm going to be that guy and bring "talent" up. Anyway, I don't really want to get into an argument about this, but felt it had to be said. Which is somewhat hypocritical.

I think it's best to not be caught up in how good or bad others are and just focus on improving yourself. Seeing other people better than me when I feel like I've put in more work is depressing. Way to be a sore loser, haha. Ego is bad.

>>16808810
Haven't played much Cave, but it doesn't take a genius to see that Cave has more bullets, especially during stage portions. Touhou has more resources so survival is comparatively easy if you don't limit yourself with restrictions like no bomb. But I think that scoring is where Touhou really shines.

In my honest opinion, having ADHD makes playing these games easier. The same applies to most other action games.

>> No.16809272

>>16809255
I don't think that having ADHD would necessarily make it easier, perhaps more just that ADHD is the kind of disability which agrees with and is actually entertained(and thus much more easily immersed)by these kinds of games with a high amount of visual and processing input. As opposed to a normal person, who would have to truly enjoy the game for what it is in order to become immersed. ADHD people are able to bypass this and enjoy the games due to their nature.

It's very fun if you ask me. It also gets pretty hard, but you can just play as far as you think you can viably go. There's not too much pressure beyond the potential wall of bullets thrown at you, since it's like LoLK in that you can keep trying as much as you need until you win. It takes a little bit to get used to the new controls, though, since depending on what you're doing you can be going anywhere from normal Tengu level retardedly fast to slow as a fucking snail in terms of movement speed, which was the cause of many deaths for me until I got used to it. If you give it a try and like it, don't forget about Double Spoiler. It's basically a newer version of the same thing with Hatate.

>> No.16810081

>>16808972
I also felt the spell was uncharacteristically tricky for Normal until I realized that the ice crystal waves are sorta aimed at your position. So my personal strategy for capturing is staying pretty close to Cirno while dodging the yellow spreads she shoots (at least slightly above the middle of the screen), and that results in the blue waves having big openings you can sneak through at the sides. Still need to watch yourself so you don't run into the yellow bullets while traveling through the gap, but it's much, much easier than just staying at the bottom of the screen.

As for how bad I suck, I still haven't 1cc'd the game thanks to Sakuya being a bitch and eating through my lives. I'm getting closer, though.
