Hey /jp/, I haven't browsed in a long time. I think the last time I was here, it wasn't called "Otaku Culture" yet. Things look pretty different now. Are the NEETs and shut ins still here? Does this board still champion OC and being the better, adult counterpart to /a/?

>> No.16722190

yeah

/jp/ is for the otaku, neets, and oldfags

just watch out for NSJ. he scared people off. in some circles it is rumored that he became NSM

S-stop posting things like this! /jp/ is now better than it ever was. Gone is all the shitposting, now everything is a variety of topics neatly arranged in several general threads. I love opening /jp/ and knowing exactly what threads I'm g-going to see!

No. This thread will be deleted as soon as meido wakes up, anyway, but /jp/ today is just /e/ 2.0: generals edition

It was exciting. You could learn new things every day about every aspect of otaku culture, and often about japanese culture too.
You could see people talk about touhou strategies for different games in different threads, and in many threads, make entirely beautiful new images, funposts, copypasta, and memes.
In other threads, you could have serious and productive discussion.
There was a lot more variety back then. There was also more serious discussion, and more funposting. All at the same time.

the history of /jp/

>> No.16722779

>>16722177
This is a question for /qa/. This board has too much meta-discussion and bawwing about the good ol' days and not enough fresh content.

Seeing the same shitposts over and over again isn't any better than a board full of generals, either. All of this old shit has either since leaked out of /jp/ and become cancer or is purposefully as autistic as possible for the sole purpose of deterring outsiders. I commend drawfags for OC and the DJT people for wanting to learn moon runes so they can scavenge the nip interwebz for new memes and images to steal. As it stands, eventually, only the most severely retarded /jp/sies will remain endlessly making Tenshi Eating Corndog threads and posting the same exact replies in the same order until they run of NEET dollars and expire.

Personally I didn't care at all for tripfag life stories and NEET liveblogging and grew out of the same shitposts repeated all the time. Currently, I don't care at all for all the idolshit threads and JAV/porn shit but I like threads like touhou gameplay, the ones that talk about touhou written works, Umineko, fumo, VNTS, etc.

Please from now on, whenever you make a new thread, try to put the word "touhou" or "otaku" or similar in the op. OP did good at least.
