Cost is the same and if you use slider for higher levels, proto 35.6cm becomes actually more expensive. If you meant crafting the gun then yeah, I agree it's cheaper but most of the people don't really need more than two proto 35.6cm.

Only Big7, Iowa and Hotels have higher accuracy with 16inch. For the remaining BBs 38cm Kai is more accurate.

Can't something be simply better without being totally gamebreaking? Once you go over the cap difference between 38cm Kai and Proto 41cm stops being 5 points and becomes 0-1 points.

Just how tanky is Zara Due compared to the previous top CAs? Choukai (Firepower) and Prinz (Armor).

tl;dr

- Zara is great against most of the usual route abysals except Wo Kai, which can taiha her much more frequently when compared to Choukai.

- Zara becomes a terrible taiha magnet when married, only way to return her to a decent state is with a bulge

- Zara with marriage and bulge becomes almost inmune to regular node abyssals except Wo Kai. Basically, use other CA in any map with lots of Wo Kai or Oni/Hime class with good accuracy since she's got a huge chance of taiha when receiving non crit hits over the daytime firepower cap.

- Which in turn means that for events her usefulness is highly debatable since she not only suffers from this issue but have low torpedo stat and has lower evasion than Choukai. The evasion problem though, can be compensated with marriage levels + luck modding.


In the end, she looks like a great ranking CA thanks to her tankiness, being able to equip seaplane bombers and ability to equip SCAMP but doesn't look that useful for events except on very specific scenarios (like last spring's E-5).

I think I laid out the main points about this analysis but please add your opinions on this too.

The accuracy matters more the more evasive your opponents are. So vs Wo flag+ and especially stuff like Tsu or LM DDs you will want additional accuracy to hit them.

19fp 2acc and costs shitload of screws to even make one. Realistically you have to invest 45 screws to even get the /N (1 failure after +6 and slider for converting) and after that it becomes comparable in cost of upgrades to 38cm Kai. I'd rather call it a day with base 35.6cm or something. A pair of 38cm Kai and another of Proto 35.6cm are just lying around waiting without any need for initial investment.
