I'm trying hard to not take offence to these comments. And I'm not going to apologise for my best friends having started in the industry a year or two before I did. I still had to interview.
It wasn't the only qualification that I had, it was an indication that I was serious and knew what I was talking about (remember, there were no guides on any of the 15 websites on the internet to multi-boot PCs in 1995). I worked for the same employer for 10 years, until interstate management ran the company into the ground, and my pay doubled in the first 12 months, once I had proven that I knew my shit and worked hard. That said, tertiary qualifications aren't the be-all and end-all if you want to work for an integrator/VAR - industry and vendor certifications are far more relevant.

I will agree with that. I started in the industry when a significant number of companies didn't even have one computer, let alone have one in every office. There also wasn't the sense of entitlement that a lot of tertiary graduates have nowadays. Heck, you can do a CCIE bootcamp at high school now; my high school only bought their first PCs (80286) when I was in year 11 - prior to that it was BBC Micros - and that's where I spent my lunch breaks.

Infrequent (about 4 times a year), and depends on your definition of new. Characters that don't already have a fumo are extremely few and far between now. Kasen was the only new character to see a fumo release in the last two years.

There are new versions of girls that get released, those seem to be happening a couple times a year now. Last year we got Marisa, Reisen, and Sakuya.

Just started collecting soft girls. Got Reisen from the Amiami store in Akiba this winter, and Reimu and Marisa online. Looking to get more for a comfy fumo daikazoku, but the ones I want have been discontinued and are really expensive.

Where do you guys usually put your fumos? After trying a few different spots I ended up going for the keyboard.

Personally I write in my own pseudo-cursive because it's faster than print and has higher readability than pure cursive. I'm left handed though so my handwriting literally looks like shit. There are certain characters you cannot write left handed without lifting the pen. It doesn't 'flow' the way cursive does when written right handed either, unless you claw grip the pen and drag your hand through ink/graphite.
