Results are not representative (usually it's only 50-60 sorts), but you still can see some tendencies.
For example Okuu was indeed extremely popular here in 2013-14. There was always one active Okuu thread. It was /jp/ - Okuu Culture. But I guess people got tired of her and she lost majority of her popularity in 2015-2016.
Reimu would never get top 1 (or even top 5) in /jp/ unlike in thwiki polls. And actually it seems majority would agree that Marisa > Reimu.

EoSD being first doesn't need explanation. This game made 2hu what it is now.

MoF above SA is because people rate game as a whole and not only gameplay. For example in those votes people consider MoF to have the best music overall (even though separate tracks are not popular). It has its own unique oriental feeling and atmosphere. And don't forget SA is harder and thus less enjoyable for majority. But I want to note that even hardcore players and scorefags prefer MoF more (at least in the west).
