On another note, you have no bombs left it seems. So you're going to have a very rough time in the next few stages. I recommend you either reset and try to get to stage 5 without using a single bomb so you can save them for Clownpiece or Junko (or at least a good number of bombs) or swap to Reimu since she's more or less better at tackling the patterns in the game compared to Sanae.

I ended up clearing it by staying really close to her for as long as I could, that way the bullets didn't surround me completely

What do you mean? Using Sanae in LoLK gives you a free life every three chapters you bomb. Doesn't even matter if there are little bullets in the screen since she can just crash into them to rack up graze points like crazy.

No, i don't think so. At least her shot is homing and considering that a lot of the spellcards in LoLK have you moving all arround the screen that damage is at least consistent. Marisa's shot in the other hand is not homing and even though it has high damage output at full power you'll have to be much more risky to make use of it.

The bomb being overpowered is the reason why Sanae has a huge advantage over the other three. Only Reisen can compete since she also has a broken bomb.
For runs that don't use bombs, Sanae's viability decreases by a fair bit, but her homing snakes grant her the easiest stages regardless. She has the weakest DPS, though.
