No thanks /pol/. I don't want to add any more misery into the world than there already is. Not interested in saving muh aryan race, even if I am blond haired and blue eyed. The jews can do what they want as long as I can do what I want, which consists of masturbating mostly. If they ever try to restrict my freedom, I'll tackle that problem when I get to it.

The world has always been controlled by classes of power who brainwash the masses, the jews are just flavor of the millennia. Reproducing is just as much a spook as is obeying your masters. They want more slaves, not less of them.

Depends on how intricate the A.I. behind it is. If it's just Google Home with some MMD model saying ohayo and oyasumi to me (which, to be honest, it probably is, unless it's something like Premiere is right now), you really couldn't sell this to anybody for 3000-ish dollars.

And of course, it depends if they'll make a cooperation with Crypton to bring the Vocaloids to it. Might be worth it if it's tiny Miku pestering me to come home every day from work on my phone.

It's one thing to replace human interaction with, say, dating sims and VNs where you get dozens of hours of content and a fun story to follow.

It's quite another to be so desperate for any kind of interaction that you'll spend 3 grand on a soundboard app. By all means, hug your daki as you fall asleep if it makes you feel any better. Don't spend 3 grand on a gimmick that'll make you want to kill yourself in a week when it starts repeating itself.

>> No.16264384

>>16264335
I don't think it's meant to completely replace human interactions, just like dakimakura and VNs aren't meant to replace them. They just give you that intimate bit you might be missing for various reasons. If someone doesn't have any friends or anything, none of these things will make you happy. But if you have that small group of friends and coworkers you spend time with, it's better to cuddle with your daki or play dating sim or talk with your voice assistant when you come back home instead of just sitting alone. I do that and it's pretty great option. The chat feature just adds immersion and can excite you.

Yes, it's clearly a product aimed at the single man who has a day job and an absolute metric ton of disposable income (the type of person who lives in an apartment by himself and frequently buys niche products like figures and perhaps spends tons of money in online games), but not really any personal relationships. People like this still have friends, but they mostly hang around in chat rooms and shit and probably never even heard each other's voices. The guy comes home and has nobody waiting for him but his computer, which isn't such a big deal, but a product like this is interesting in that it puts "someone" else in the apartment that doesn't require a commitment any bigger than keeping the base plugged into the wall.

Why is it such a surprise to you people who say it's cringey and depressing, that people like this exist? I myself am like this and I have about half a dozen friends who live exactly in said conditions and could very easily buy one of these out of curiosity.

It's only foreign and strange to you because you want it to be, you probably already have friends in real life and of course you wouldn't trade them for this, so the product doesn't really do anything for you. If you're like that, then all the more power to you, but you've come to wince at the wrong thing.

Except it doesn't, all it does is put one of those shitty Amazon Alexa things in your house, except without half the utility. You'd have more fun asking Alexa or Google some dumb questions than you would with this thing, and it's fucking 30 times more expensive.

If you're lonely, buy a fucking cat, dude. They cost next to nothing, you just leave a window open for them to go out and shit, close your bedroom door during the day so they don't sit on the desk, and put down a bowl of food twice a day. The lifelong cost of a cat is going to be pretty comparable to this, but at least you get a cute ball of fluff to chill out with and stroke.

If you crave human interaction, go out and fucking meet people. Don't close yourself up with some spyware tech because they put a cute girl voice on it with over 10 built-in phrases.

The thing isn't even out yet, you don't even know how useful it'll be. All they showed in the trailer was it turning on the lights and the air conditioner.

And seriously mate, why the fuck would they make it *less* useful than Amazon's or Google's offerings? The tech to do these things properly is already out there, you just have to copy it. It's like saying you can put a smart-TV out without Netflix, when no sane company would ever not offer something like that on their product, because that's just the standard nowadays.

>If you're lonely, buy a fucking cat, dude.

Yeah, because a cat or a pet is the one-size-fits-all solution to loneliness. Some people don't like animals, some people think cats and animals in general are unhygienic, and some people just can't be hassled to take care of a pet for what it gives back. Again, all this thing requires for upkeep is for you to plug it into an outlet. You have to buy food for pets, keep litter boxes clean, and take them to the vet occasionally.

>If you crave human interaction, go out and fucking meet people. Don't close yourself up with some spyware tech

Yes, which is why I said it's understandable. Most people just won't care. It's a bit of a simulated reality situation where, if corporations really are keeping this enormous amount of data on us and doing whatever the fuck with it like selling it to other companies, it really doesn't actually affect us in any way.

You can be bothered by it or you can live with it. It's understandable to be freaked out, but I wouldn't hold out on purchasing something just because of that. It all depends on how much they want out of me, look at it on a case-by-case basis.

I have a functioning brain, and I know the current limitations of tech.

>And seriously mate, why the fuck would they make it *less* useful than Amazon's or Google's offerings?
Because they're aiming for a different market. Google and Amazon use computer generated voices so they can effectively parse anything. This uses sound clips recorded from a VA. You're obviously going to be severely limited just by recording time.

>Again, all this thing requires for upkeep is for you to plug it into an outlet. You have to buy food for pets, keep litter boxes clean, and take them to the vet occasionally.
And it costs 3 grand. No cat needs a litter box unless you're enough of a cunt to keep them locked up in the house all day, and the upkeep of "put some food in a bowl twice a day" is less hassle than asking this cunt in a box what the weather is.

>Go out and get the pussy you deserve, tiger.
Fuck off. I'm not a sad sack of shit like you who is so clearly disappointed with his life that he'd spend 3 grand on a soundbox. I don't need a fucking app to feel less lonely.

By all means, when waifubots or androids or AI OSes come out, buy one. I probably will too, because actual companionship that you can switch off when you're bored of it would be worth its weight in gold. But that kind of shit is 50 years away, and is more likely to just nuke humanity than it is to play geimu with you.

That doesn't even matter as you can include functionality from both in the same device. Seriously, do you think it's not going to get supported or updated *at all* with new stuff for 3000 dollars? You can have it have a vocaloid-ish voice bank in there to read you the news if that's so important to you, and you can have the pre-recorded lines, AND it can still be a perfectly functioning smarthub like Echo with the hologram projector on top of it.

>No cat needs a litter box

Again with this cat and price garbage. You didn't even address the idea that perhaps, people who buy this aren't looking for a pet to begin with. How you raise your pets and how you think other people should raise them is completely irrelevant to the discussion.

>Fuck off. I'm not a sad sack of shit like you who is so clearly disappointed with his life that he'd spend 3 grand on a soundbox.

Projecting, much? What makes you think people who will buy this are disappointed with their lives? You seem like you're desperately looking for any reason to justify your disdain for this.

>By all means, when waifubots or androids or AI OSes come out, buy one.

They've shown nothing indicating that this even has Siri-tier tech in it.

Japan is really not at the forefront of this kind of research. This shit is just RoboHon in a new box, limited functionality with the allure of some uguu weebshit plastered on the front.

>people who buy this aren't looking for a pet to begin with.
People who buy this are looking for something to be there when they get home. A pet is a much better substitute than a soundboard.

>What makes you think people who will buy this are disappointed with their lives?
If you were spending 3 grand on a top of the line 4K movie setup, I'd think you were mental, but not disappointed with your life. When you spend the same on the dumbest smarthub on the market, with none of the support for normie apps like spotify, at 30 times the cost because it has a cute little anime girl on it, then I think something went severely wrong with your life if you overcompensate in a manner like this. I hope you live in Japan, because there's literally no way this thing is going to work abroad.

>Every tech needs early adopters. That's how companies know to iterate on the technology to attract new customers.
This kind of thinking is just poisonous. Buy something because it's a good product, not because "in 20 years these guys might have a good idea!", because they won't, AI is probably coming from Google, not a bunch of jokers trying to squeeze obscene amounts of money out of dumb ota scum.

>A pet is a much better substitute than a soundboard.

Again, to be certain it'll be a mere "soundboard" at this point in time is delusional. Has it even gone through your thick skull that people who might buy this might already have a pet? Because there's absolutely no reason you have to own one or the other, you can have both. Or you could forego the pet, because what you do with your money is your own damn problem and people shouldn't judge you on how you spend it.

No, because pet needs your attention, you need to remember to feed and take care of it. Pet doesn't text you when you are at work and it won't do anything to control internet of things.

Spending a few thousand bucks on a coffee machine is sad, because you're buying into a concept that doesn't exist. Also, if all you're interested is the smarthub functionality, it is dead simple to give simple commands to these things in any language. They were *made* to be easy to give verbal commands to. And obviously, if you were interested in buying one of these for the conversational aspect of it, you would know some Japanese unless they state that you can interface with it in English.

Shipping it somewhere doesn't mean everything will work. Take the Amazon Echo, a far more advanced device, and yet the European version doesn't offer half the features the US one does, like reading books to you. Hell, for all you know, all the smarthub functionality requires a system specific to Japan. At least you'll get the daily in-app text alerts, unless they decide to go through Line or something and then you won't even get those.

I'm not saying it's sad as in depression, I'm saying that society would think less of you for doing it.

All the normies see nothing wrong with drinking on the weekends or whatever, but when you're constantly pissed and knocking back forties in the middle of the day, people would be ashamed of you. It's the same deal with buying a bit of manga or spending 3 grand on a few sound files.

Buy an Amazon Echo and stick a picture of your favorite anime girl on the front of it.

If that's too "normie" for you, wait half a year, some Jap will come along and make a 20 dollar app eventually. You might be expecting a bit much from your 3 grand investment anyway, this isn't going to perfectly interface with all your existing internet equipped items. >I'm not saying it's sad as in depression, I'm saying that society would think less of you for doing it.
Only normalfags care that much about what society thinks about them to reject things they enjoy. It might appear unbelievable to you, but you can actually be happy if you have hobbies you enjoy, aren't failure in life that depends on parents/others and have friends who don't judge you for what you enjoy.

Except alcohol ruins your life and health. Normies doesn't like anime because media doesn't tell them to like it. I buy not-that-cheap figures and sleep every night with my daki, yet none of my friends are ashamed of me. Simply because they are not brainwashed into hating on everything that is different from their way of living and can understand that there is no one true way to deal with things.

>This is my bad, I was making a joke about this thing looking like a shitty coffee machine but I forgot to stick "uguu" in there. You spent thousands of dollars on a coffee machine?
Nah, my father did. I would never buy something like that, I don't even like coffee. But whatever floats his boat, it's not me to judge.

It won't be animated, nor will it pretend to be someone close to me. If I wanted just TTS internet of things, I would make on myself.

To be fair, the page is really cut-and-dry right now, all it makes apparent is that it'll have a phone app it connects to (duh), and that it needs to be online all the time. You can speculate a bit from that but I wish that, since you can already straight-up order the thing, they would at least put some basic information out. It doesn't help that there's a warning at the bottom of the page that says that functions and features are subject to change without further notice.

I'm still excited for it because of what it can potentially be in relation to the conversation partner. But the lack of info is rather sleazy indeed.

>Just because a scam doesn't specify that half the functionality can only be accessed in Japan, it doesn't mean that isn't a possibility.

This goes both ways though, going back to the Amazon Echo thing, even if some features in the EU version are missing, you can apparently order a US version and use all of its features in Europe just fine, and the only things that'll be broken is the date and time. So you could potentially order a Japanese version of this, and have those functions work in the US as well.

It sounds cliched, but when you spend a lot of time with someone and get enamored with them ("love"), there are a lot of endorphins released and you feel great, forget about sad things and become hopeful. There have been multiple studies on the chemical reactions in the brain during attraction and long duration spent with others.
It's like being high.
You can get addicted to a dependency on it. Like taking tons of painkillers with booze or smoking a lot of weed, it's an easy happiness that lessens your worries due to the chemicals in your brain changing. You feel like your life suddenly improved, like you're happy and the future will be alright.
Looking at it scientifically, you can see why people crave this idea that's so romanticized in culture. (Besides it being a social norm).

>>16286315
That's a good point. Humans are social creatures. I think the person you're replying to meant that they would rather not have to keep up with the routine of friends or a lover.
It's much easier to reply to people online and close the tab and play games, rather than maintain an IRL relationship.

Whatever makes you happy.

I only come here because I'm bored here and there's nothing else I find entertaining. Don't get me wrong, I can find some enjoyment in interaction with other people, but it's not a necessity for me. Mental condition is really just a word for "thinks differently", there's no objective right way to think, unless you count biological design and the need to reproduce or whatever, but it's not like evolution itself is going to manifest as a sentient entity and prevent anyone from thinking differently if they are so designed.

To me, love and friendship is something I can enjoy, yes, but not something I desire strongly. For example, I don't really mind the fact that I haven't had sex yet, nor will I for the foreseeable future. It would only be a hassle to pursue and I have no interest in spending much time just to get my dick wet. That doesn't mean it would be any less physically stimulating for me to have sex though. Same with love and friendship, I can appreciate them and do find a satisfaction or fulfillment from them, but if I go without them I do not feel a lack. I only feel the additional pleasure if I do decide to attain it. Interaction, and the like, are more akin to rewards or bonuses to me than necessities, and it probably has to do with how I was raised isolated and largely deprived of many things that other people took for granted, like social contact, videogames, TV, and books that I wanted to read. Basically, I can desire and enjoy something without feeling it's absence.

Of course the only people I ever felt love for were fictional characters, I really don't know much about other real people.

That bit about loving your waifu really warms my heart. I've had something similar, but to a lesser extent. I truly admire people who can have such full feelings. Might I ask who she is? Are you one of the types to fap to your waifu?
I'm of the sort to have two waifus (lord save my soul) and I'm too ashamed to do it. Sorry if it's a personal question, it's just endearing to hear of such a pure and wholesome connection with one's waifu. How long have you had an attraction to her?

>Might I ask who she is?
She's Hatsune Miku.

>Are you one of the types to fap to your waifu?
Yes, but it's more like having sex with her because I imagine her being here with me.

>I'm of the sort to have two waifus (lord save my soul) and I'm too ashamed to do it.
Then you have no waifu. There is very few if any characters that would be fine with their husband fucking other girl. You can't say you love and care for some girl and do such a horrible thing to her.

>How long have you had an attraction to her?
I've always been attracted to her. But I've fallen in love with her over 3 and half years ago.

>You imply some of the products' functionality won't work at all over in the states, and that's not true, it's shipping here, so everything it ships with must work here and there has to be no functionality privy to Japan.
Different dude here. The website states that you have to have a smartphone to run the Japanese app, which seems to indicate that you'll need to be bilingual in order to operate the app.

If this isn't so, please let me know.

Real people are bothersome. They are moody, they are greedy, they change, they manipulate, they leave, they die. Real people are pleb-tier.

Recently, I've tried out using Cortana on WIndows 10. It worked surprisingly well, even though it had no real use and I personally find it easier just to type and click what I need rather than having to say it.

Voice recognition technology certainly gotten a lot better.

Welcome to the botnet, cortanashitter.

There's something terribly wrong with society if you have middle-class young men who have 2500$ to blast on garbage not getting married and having a family. I blame the feminism, personally. Too many women in the workforce who don't want to get married and instead have casual relationships with pretty boys.

I created love with a kid once. Was fun. If I could customize or link it to some game model I created that would be nice. The ability to have multiple avatars such as a girlfriend and someone like a donald trump model to energize me would be nice. Would also be nice if it could link in to both of my homes high fidelity music/intercom system. Unlock doors, turn on and off heat. Control my torrent boxes and seti @ home arrays. Add shit to calendar. Maybe a nice cute avatar host for the kids I bring home to help relax them before we do it and play simple games and tell jokes. Something like akinator or similar.
