As a sci-fi story it's mostly worthless. It's just stale cliches one after another. None of the ideas are all that well developed, and suspending your disbelief is pretty hard through most of it because it's just silly technomagic with tons of internal inconsistencies. If you've never read any sci-fi before in your life you might enjoy it more, I don't know. But at any rate, as far as the actual plot it's nothing to write home about.

This would have been forgivable had the characters been good, but almost none of them are in any way relatable or really even have much personality at all. Especially Ayane, fuck she was an awful character, and her route sucks and is pointless. I feel like it's a problem when you find yourself rooting for the ridiculously exaggerated cartoon villain as he rapes all the heroines, because you simply don't give a shit about any of them. Then there's the protagonist who makes genius decisions like "Well, I was planning to quit my job because my boss is a fucking evil lunatic who ordered me to murder children, but then my osananajimi kissed me, so whatever, I guess murdering children is fine." Give me a fucking break, lmao. His whole internal dialogue is immature and cringey as hell.

Then there's the gameplay. Well, it sucks, plain and simple. I don't think it's possible to defend it. Run around the playfield, spam missiles, win. Rinse and repeat. Over and over and over and over and over again. Oh, and you can't skip battles you've already won, and you have to replay most of them on every route. Enjoy.

All that said, I don't really feel like Baldr Force was THAT bad a game. It was just... not a good game, either. It certainly doesn't deserve anything like a goddamn 90 on EGS. Maybe more like a 65.

On plot side it's more like you probably can't appreciate how the setting has evolved or the direction it's heading if you don't read Sky and to some extend Force as they get refered here and there, and in Heart you see all kinds of effects what the events of Force/Sky brought to world.

I haven't played Force myself so I can't chime in on that and from what I've seen on this thread it seems to be a pretty divisive game, but I'd personally recommend giving Sky a try. I really enjoyed Dive 1 and Sky in general is usually considered the best in the series.

At least gameplay wise both it and Heart are much more than what you described Force to be like. The main setting and world building were easily my favorite parts of Sky, though admittedly the main story had some silly Deus Ex Machinas, certain antagonists were pigeonholed completely non-redeemable villain archetypes like the rapist you described (though there were also some good villains with understandable motivations) and by Dive 2 it starts to suffer from repetition and the final route in particular was way too 王道 to my liking. Heart improves the gameplay further with better weapon unlock system and other small changes.

Back then I had no idea how to combo and I could still beat through it on Very Hard with just a single Force Crash. I still enjoyed the gameplay though since there wasn't anything like in 2007. Heck, I dare say it's one hell of an improvement from Bullet (which didn't even have FCs).

So finished Izumo 4. Imouto route + new game+ with Hakuto. (though I didn't go till the ending, only till before the final dungeon which are most scenes anyway and is enough for the extra boss)

Story was garbage-tier. You are better off skipping any main-story dramatic parts I feel. It's a bit subjective at some points, but there's a good amount of drama that's relatively objectively bad and only enjoyable if you enjoy drama for the sake of drama. (as in it's insanely predictable. As in "a heroine needs to be killed or else she turns into a monster, WHAT CAN WE DO" if we just got a scene before that gives a decent idea + you know she can't die anyway 'cause eroge and she is on the cover..)
On the flipside the characters are actually good. Interaction is fine and their personal drama is for the most part pretty good, as far as I've seen it at least. Provided it's not really part of the main-story at least. I really feel the author(s) had to write certain plot elements because it's an Izumo game or something and were super uncomfortable with it.

Technically the writing also has some issues. Too much useless narration including some that just recaps what the dialog said as well. And the "let every character have exactly one line" issue at certain parts. Towards the end there's an especially painful part where 8 further characters join the normal cast and you get this several times in a row, where everyone drops their one line in a totally mattering way, just so they had a line. Ouch

Gameplay feels like an arcade-style rpg. It's linear. You can't buy stuff. No consumables. Don't expect healing before bosses, mostly doesn't happen. It's starts really underwhelming, but can get rather fun later on, except for random encounters which suck. Some of the "bosses" were really fun to fight though. No exp grinding at all necessary (nor useful) either. What you normally encounter while exploring should be enough.

I really don't like bashing games and clouding other people's opinions before they start so I will spoiler all of this and you guys can read if you want.

Long sections of stagnation and detours full of shit I don't care about causing the main plot to stop moving for so long that I cease to care about it. When the main plot does actually start moving it changes direction many times with a number of poorly executed "twists" which causes any excitement I had to disappear. MC is possibly the blandest character I've seen in eroge and it destroys a lot of the game, and no, the fact that he's actually a sword made from MAGIC is not an excuse for this. Half-baked 武人 ideals leading to some extremely annoying and questionable thought processes (did something bad, better kill myself), more than one time. The way Elsa's entire character was handled, she had interesting ideals and the conversations on 忠義 were good but there's so little of it that her character is completely wasted and turned into this annoying cunt with no redeeming features, no matter how much they try to get me to like her after the fact it's not enough. Lack of resolution, the following sequence of events was used so many times I lost count: fucked up thing happens -> everyone's ready to attack and overthrow -> MC says "we can't do anything right now better calm down and wait for the perfect time to strike"-> everyone calms down -> more aggravation as fucked up things happen -> repeat. To make matters worse, when they finally do start trying to do things the plans MC and co have fails or is insufficient for some reason which means nearly the entire game is just MC's side fucking up and not accomplishing anything while constantly getting bested by Elsa and the disgustingly smug occupying "totally america but we're not going to say it's america" forces. Lots of predictable reveals and twists and characters making irrational decisions. The latter bits of the plot have been told in infodumps and now that I'm at the last chapter I'm reading something going in an entirely different direction than it was a few hours ago. The real villain is an absurd archetype of "I'M DOING BAD THINGS AND MURDERING PEOPLE BECAUSE IT'S FUN". Last but not least ripping off Kuon no Kizuna.

I can go on, but yeah. I do appreciate the large scale and attempt at making something like this in the year 2016, however a lot of this simply rubs me the wrong way. Your mileage may vary, but this one has clearly been a miss for me.

I'm also reading Senmomo (at Kotone route atm) and enjoying it a lot, so let me explain what I like about it to provide a counteropinion.

It stands on the strength of its characters. Each of the heroines are strongly developed, with a backstory and motive that justifies their actions and makes me care about them. You have to appreciate how cute and idealistic they are, to feel their love for MC and for 忠義. And their interactions with each other are enormous fun.

I don't see what you have against Eruza either? She fights to bring freedom and protect the common people. After growing up believing in her father being a hero of justice, and discovering the truth, instead of falling into despair, she rose up and swore to become what she always idolised. Everything she did was perfectly justified.

Now I agree with some of your complaints, especially about MC being boring. It does definitely hurt the dialogue a fair bit, but I'm enjoying it regardless. Maybe it's no Eustia but it's still great.

>>15908074

I disagree. The heroines are a little more interesting than Eustia's though, and there is nothing PAINFULLY bad like Eris' route, I will give you that. However, the sheer amount of stuffy ideals that govern all of their actions makes them feel quite two-dimensional. It feels like they have no autonomy and are acting solely based on a set of ideals. I mean yeah, I think they're cute and seeing cracks in the ideology armor is nice, but I wouldn't consider any of them to be truly compelling characters.

I don't feel that Elsa's character was properly utilized for a lot of reasons. She may claim she wants to be like Soujin and live a life she can be proud of but her actions certainly don't reflect that. And no, I don't care how much she idolized her father or believed his stupid slogans, going along with his garbage to the extent that she has in spite of knowing the truth and constantly manipulating and pressuring everyone around her goes a little beyond what I would consider "justified". Don't forget her plan was to just fucking murder all of the 武人 in the 竜胆作戦 until her father nuked an entire town full of innocent people. Yeah, she tried to help those people but she is STILL PART OF THE INVADING FORCES DOING ALL OF THIS SHIT and continues to be part of it, even after that event. Elsa is absolutely not a likeable character for me and I certainly don't think everything she did was justified. Soujin should have killed her at that early battle and they would have probably avoided a lot of pain. Seriously, think about it. What was the benefit of letting her live? She hasn't followed through on anything yet and has actively fucked with their efforts. Here is her brilliant ideology: "I want to bring peace to the common people, therefore I trample their country and cast my father's war crimes on the the 武人 who I know are actually trying to save their country", even if she feels bad about it, she still fucking did it, twice. If you don't see the 矛盾 in all of this I don't know what else to say. She is morally bankrupt at best and I honestly have no clue how you can call her actions perfectly justified
.

If you like the game, that's great. I guess we just disagree on some key points and that is fine too. One thing I do like about Senmomo is that it's bringing out some mixed viewpoints and promoting discussion if nothing else.

You have to remember that the Empire is not the perfect utopia it's made out to be. That the 武人 are responsible for the deaths of countless people. To you, the Republic soldiers might be faceless meat shields, but to Eruza they are her friends and her compatriots. To you, the 皇帝 might be a benevolent just ruler, but to her, it's a dictatorship ruling the populace with an iron fist, killing any who rebel or speak out. Think of the rules taken for granted, the instant death penalties for insulting the 皇帝. Her goal is to liberate the masses from this tyranny.

Now, yes, she had the plan to kill all the 武人. But when you know only too well how devoted they are, when you've seen them fight from underground and slaughter your troops in the name of 忠義, surely there is reason to be afraid. She had no reason to believe they would peacefully go along with her plans to introduce democracy, she knew there was good chance they would betray her as soon as the mission was over, killing the Republic's soldiers and restoring the old regime. And she was right. If she had gone along with the 竜胆作戦 as agreed and there hadn't been unexpected interference from her father, there would have been war. Think how many tens of thousands of innocent lives would have been needlessly lost. By killing a few hundred 武人, she is securing a brighter future for the millions of innocent civilians, and bringing peace and freedom to the Empire. Is it not a fair trade?

No, the loss of their cultural identity and traditions, warping of their history, being forcibly ruled by a foreign country and living under their ideals and version of events is certainly not a fair trade. You are operating on the completely incorrect assumption that what she and her father are bringing is a guaranteed brighter future, and the simple fact is that it isn't. Elsa's ideals aside, her father isn't after a "brighter future" in the first place, he's looking to become a war profiteer (see image).

And if you want to go deeper, we can leave all of that aside too. Even if it WAS a far brighter future, there is no evidence that the people living there wished for them to interfere in the first place and it was not their place to do so. It's like if I came to your house, took all of your family pictures and childhood memorabilia or whatever you hold important and burned it all in front of your face, then said "I'm your new leader now. This stuff fucking sucked, I got rid of it for you. You have to live in this empty house for a while but at some point I'll get you some stuff that I think is better. You should be happy that I came here uninvited and did this for you". Come on man, you wouldn't be happy with that.

Her "friends" died because they invaded a country they had no business being in in the first place. Why should we feel sympathy?

The difference is important - Eruza was killing soldiers who were trying to kill her, while the atomic bomb was against civilians. I'm not defending her father, who is basically America with his fire-bombing of the innocent civilian town to wipe out the "terrorists", but she was opposed to that, because she recognises the difference between innocents and soldiers.

>>15908185
There's an element of truth in what you say. But you're making the assumption that all civilians supported the 皇帝's rule. I don't think this is true - we see some civilians spit on and despise the remnant 武人, we see the huge support Eruza gets when she brings about democracy in her route. While we get a distorted picture since most of our POV is from the view of a 武人, I think there's a good chance a large amount of the common populace actually welcomed the Republic invasion, and rejoiced as freedom was introduced. If that's the case, is Eruza justified? I believe so.

Obviously her father is morally corrupt, but Eruza is not her father, and I feel her route is clear evidence that the future of the Empire under her ideal is a brighter one.

At least they pay something then.

This kind of approach is something the music industry also kinda went with. Offer cheap unlimited flatrates for music for a monthly fee. It's not very rentable for anyone really, but it IS money. And if it's cheap enough, and offers comfort, people will pay.

Obviously this is still different from that, but it's somewhat of a similar direction. The "comfort" part and such need to be nailed though. Which probably won't be. And then the question is how expensive will it still be.
The question however will be, if all of this is even worth it for a niché medium that is eroge. For mainstream mediums like big US tv series or music or "international" not adult games you may get away with it, as long as it's cheap enough and reaches enough people. But for Japanese porn games? I.. dunno about that.

>making uncrackable games are not that impossible after that

Making "uncrackable" games, as in drastically increasing the amount of effort you need to exert to set your foot through the door so it's going to take too much money/time/resources/effort is not possible without employing dedicated hardware in your PC (which is already there but it's still a few years until someone's going to make use of it for DRM). I think Denuvo only does well because of lack of interest since it doesn't really employ anything groundbreaking compared to previous protections and it's protection is still all software. Though if there's nobody interested in cracking AAA games then interest in cracking eroge might be even lower.

Or do you mean a streaming model?

>>15909891
>Doubly so if I could crack the DRM and keep it around forever.

The DRM doesn't seem simple enough anyone can do it and if someone released an universal tool it's just going to be patched so you'd have to play cat and mouse with them. There might be a simple method of prolonging the rental period forever (by spoofing system time and faking license server response most likely) but we'll see once they launch it. But mikocon are definitely going to be happy since they're going to pay peanuts for a game, crack it instantly, put it in their VIP section and play the good guys saying if you really want the game just go rent it, we only do it for those who can't.

Pebble in the Sky also has improved art and includes the side story novels as well, though they're unvoiced and have no sprites, but they do have some new CG and BGM.

Actually this was what I meant. I know even the denuvo is not "uncrackable" and currently there is nothing as a uncrackable DRM, but the eroge scene is a pretty small one and doesn't have any proper crackers at all (except one guy) so they are pretty much fighting against one chinese guy.

It doesnt have to be even a denuvo level, if they can manage to do something which cant be cracked by him, their eroges will be uncracked for a very long time. And making such a DRM is not even that hard, but the second hand sales are getting their way.

My impression is developers in the eroge industry are really goddamn incompetent. To buy protection is one thing, you need to know how to make use of it as well. From what I've seen PlayDRM is renamed Enigma Protector so when protecting your game you get a lot of features to choose from when wrapping your executable - you can download a demo if you want to take a look, I imagine eroge devs have no idea what they do because an average coder definitely doesn't - and in such scenario you need to code your own DRM checks in the game, protect them with Engima (obfuscation, VMs) to be really effective. What I'm saying, there's no good protection that simply allows you to drag and drop the file on it and have all relevant parts protected automatically (in such case is just a packer/crypter) - IIRC Denuvo for example protects games in close cooperation with developers and they place custom triggers that can activate while playing the game so it takes effort to remove.

Reversing it entirely from ground up could take months but you can of course find a quicker shortcut even though it's not going to give you a clean crack. It looks like nobody wants to invest so much time because there is no Denuvo crack that removes the protection entirely, all of them just patch the right places so the game looks legit and let the protection do its thing. I think the warez scene got old, crackers left and there's nobody to take up the torch because the barrier of entry is too high these days (I wouldn't know where to start if I were to tackle some AAA game protection, even the older ones like Securom and Solidshield, there's no information about them on the internet) and the new generation doesn't give a fuck or sees piracy as evil.

Don't go around saying everyone has that opinion except for a minority of "bitter and jaded" folk who are just incapable of telling that the game is "actually good". You even say here
>the positives outweigh the few negatives. People here make it seem like its the opposite, when it clearly isn't.
No, it's not "clear", people disagree. Your opinion is not fact.

I think he explains it pretty clearly in the following tweets that it is possible to finish the game in time but then he'll have no time to do a proper promotional campaign. Read compilation of the related tweets: http://togetter.com/li/1029776
Without proper advertising and promotion probably almost any full-price title will be a disaster and will bring loses to the company.

I guess their decision to delay it but do things properly is for the better. October has other loli titles too.

It's pretty clear. If the balance was really that tilted into the negative then the game wouldn't be anywhere near 80+. Games where lots of people think it's shit get abysmal ratings, like Lamunation. It just so happens that my (and a couple friends of mine who also read it/are reading it) happens to align with the majority who thought the game was great. I'm not sure why you have such trouble accepting that you're in the minority of people who don't like the game, it happens. I dislike some popular titles as well (but at least I can see in what way they're good and why people like them, rather than saying they're outright bad).

But it's not my opinion, I'm a different poster. I just had to call you out if you think it's just one or two people here because that's not true. If you don't know what bbspink is or how many people still participate in it (Senmomo thread is currently the second fastest thread in /hgame2/) then you seem a bit disconnected from the Japanese eroge community which makes your initial statement absurd.

Either way, most seem to agree that it isn't a bad game, but there's no doubt that the opinion on it is very divided (and certainly disappointed), it's not just a "minority" and certainly not reduced to some people in this thread, included whoever you namedropped in your post. I didn't say anything about the game itself.

Your opinion is not fact. The votes on EGS are not fact, nor the majority - 150 people in a secluded community are not the majority of players. And finally, it is NOT clear that the positives outweighted the negatives. That is NOT a fact. That is an OPINION. It is YOUR opinion. Perhaps it is the majority's OPINION. But that does not make the discontent that of whining, jaded, cynical individuals who can't see what's "clear". It means that people have OPINIONS, and those opinions VARY. You think the positives outweigh the negatives. Other people don't. Neither are correct, neither are wrong. *End of story*.

I don't think Serika is really that much of a clingy yandere, just very focused on fulfilling her reason for existing. While she let her personal feelings get in the way and started picking targets close to Takuru for the reasons explained in Nono's route, she probably wouldn't have killed anyone if Takuru hadn't wished for her "game" in the first place. Even in Nono's route Serika eventually accepts her own death because Takuru chooses Nono. I wouldn't be surprised if her "yandere" personality was also a role she was playing for Takuru's sake. Same in Hinae's route which ends with Serika saying that Takuru wished for that type of ending (dying for a girl he loves). The robotic personality is probably her true face.

This is true in the sense of time spent however longer gamews usually have slower pacing. Therefore, playing one hour in a short game can make you feel like you've made a ton of progress due to the faster pacing unlike spending the same amount of time in a longer one.

I generally liked the characters in Sky and the ideas developed in Sky/Heart a lot better than Force, since they actually take the time to explain things and give you scenes with the characters (unless you are allergic to school settings, then you probably won't like them). The gameplay is also a lot more fun in later games since they nerfed the missiles hard. so you actually have to combo your way through mobs.

What I feel like Force did well is its use of multiple routes to show you the different organizations from the inside, but holy shit I have never tried so hard to like the heroines and ended up failing.

I'm pretty sure Force has a 90 on EGS because most of the votes came from people playing it around release, and it was probably an impressive game back in 2002.

I didn't really mind the school in Sky since they used it in flashbacks, apart from having to repeat all of them in Dive 2 of course. I liked how it showed the characters' radical change between their teenage years and adapting to a dystopic world as adults, especially Kou himself trying to come to terms with all that shit due to his memory loss and him having less lost memories with each subsequent route. The classes also worked in developing the setting and explaining things about the AI.

However Heart made me wonder why they chose to use a school setting again. Apart from 甲華学装隊 (which they probably could have written to be some other non-school organization if they wanted) there's actually much less school stuff than Sky had, pretty much no classes or other teenager stuff that would require such a setting. I complained about this before, but I think that nearly all the heroines mostly using school uniforms made them less visually memorable, and I was constantly hoping they'd go "pro" and graduate out of the school setting at some point.

Just what. Kou is most immature character in the game, staying emotions-driven crybaby till the very end in most routes.

Graphics as uncompressed .bmp and audio as uncompressed .wav is painfully common in the eroge world. For new archives you should use 7-zip's LZMA2 since it's the best available in both compression ratios and speed. Probably not worth decompressing existing .rars and recompressing them as .7z, though.

7-zip archives seem to fuck up after relatively little damage, basically if it's damaged the whole archive becomes unreadable, at least all archiving software reports it so. Other archives allow you to extract partially damaged files until the point of corruption. 7z performs better in some cases, but I don't think it's worth it.

I use rar with 3% recovery record myself. You can damage up to 3% of the file and you still can recover it completely using the repair function. Yes, it adds some redundant data. If you have a complete backup somewhere else you can probably ignore this though.

I like how the "elves" in Evenicle are total sluts who chase after the MC's semen. It really goes to show how being an eroge impacts the game's design in general, it's pretty obvious that this whole species was designed with this being an eroge in mind which in turn allows for some nice comedy and scenarios that otherwise wouldn't be possible. For that, I'm glad there's a whole niche for eroge RPGs.

Sometimes when I think about maybe going back to the game, I get reminded of her and immediately drop the idea. I just really dislike the "female knight" archtype. Other people seem to like it, but damn if it isn't my most hated character type. Probably the least offensive one I've seen is Laura from Trails of Cold Steel, but that's probably because you can stay the fuck away from anything remotely romance related. (as that's usually when the female knight type gets by far the most annoying) Still was my least liked character.

Oh well. The pacing of Evenicle was kinda awful for me anyway, so I'm not that sad about it even with the gameplay being rather fun. Alice Soft has other games, and the one I'm currently playing is quite fun on its own. And mean.

>> No.15921759

Man, i hate that archetype too, wouldn't say it's my most hated, but it is close

>> No.15921773

>>15921740
Not sure what problem you have with "female knight" in particular, but Ramias doesn't really follow the archetype all that much. I'm just finishing up Chapter 3, which is a pretty good chunk of the game, and Ramias general is treated as a perverted "meathead" (脳筋) without much attention given to, say, fighting for justice or what have you. Most of her dialogue is being a deadpan companion boke with perversion thrown in. So, I wouldn't really consider her the archetypal female knight, nor does the game treat her as such.

As for the pacing, I don't find it bad at all. Each chapter has it's own little mini arc with a changing/growing cast of characters. By the time one setting gets boring, you're onto the next one. I usually get bored by JRPGs but the fast pacing of this makes it hard to get bored. At worst, there's long sections of dialogue in between battles, but this is part visual novel after all so it doesn't bother me too much. It leads to a more rich world and characters (as opposed to what it would be without such extended dialogue sections) so I consider it a fair trade.

Of course, I'm not saying you're wrong or that you should play it if you don't want to. I just find your criticism odd.

>> No.15921793

Ramius doesn't really fit that archtype which I also hate.

>> No.15921803

>>15921773

Female Knights aren't just about "justice". Point is, they are far removed from anything but their knight-duty. (As is Ramias before you meet her) But once you meet her she becomes the typical "love-struck" girl who.. well. Female Knight archtype. To me that's just annoying. Granted it's more usual these characters are all "n-nooo the lewds, you p-pervert", but she still fulfills pretty much everything else.

As for the pacing, I mean the gameplay vs. story. It often feels like you are just running from long cutscene to long cutscene, and when you do hit a dungeon even there you essentially run into cutscenes every 5-10 steps. It basically never feels like I'm actually really playing the game, I just run from scene to scene. While in theory I'm all in for the gameplay of it, the way the included the story is just.. no.

In a way it teaches you something though: A normal rpg style gameplay is maybe not compatible with too much story. The approach of something like Izumo 4 (essentially arcade style rpg) or even Material Brave is probably just better for hybrids. Or s-rpg gameplay.
Though, to be fair, I do think Evenicle is just an especially bad case of this and some minor changes would make it completely fine already. (i.e. have cutscenes at the beginning and ending of a dungeon, leave the rest alone.. also somewhat bigger dungeons) Games like Trails of Cold Steel have tons of text as well (what was it.. 1.5million moji?), but they do actually let you play the game every now and then, while at other times you run from scene to scene.

>> No.15921809

>>15921803
Well anon, I said I don't think she fulfills the knight archetype, and in your reply here you just said "Well, female knight archetype" without further explanation. So I don't really understand your position better.

As for the gameplay vs story, I don't think of the talking bits in dungeons as "cutscenes", I think of them as natural dialogue, and thus they are fine to me. I like having characters talk and do things while exploring a dungeon as opposed to grinding through random encounters in empty corridors. In the main game, it does often feel like you're running between story sections (again, I don't really consider them cutscenes...) but as far as I'm concerned that's necessary in order to have a story like Evenicle does. It can't be conveyed through gameplay, so it's conveyed through visual novel segments. Not a problem with me, since I actually like the story. I go from having fun exploring a dungeon to having fun witnessing the story unfold. They don't mesh particularly well but the overall experience is enjoyable.

B attack - X (square for DS3)
C attack - Y (triangle for DS3)
D key / Boost - RB (R1 for DS3)
E key / Fei Action (Baldr Heart only) - LB (L1 for DS3)

Whatever you do make sure you can comfortably press A+B attack and B+C attack keys at the same time since that's how you perform Force Crashes. I originally had C attack mapped to circle (B for 360 controller) but pressing that and square at the same time was obviously pretty difficult.

Visual novels may be novels, but the people playing just for the romance and sex... aren't here for the reading. They're there for the romance and sex! It's so obvious, but I just now understood. Reading is an obstacle they have to surpass. The plot of plotge, although it goes hand in hand with moe quite often, is いらない from the very beginning. Even if it's good, it's いらない.

lol sure mate, probably you are one of those kinds who keep saying how ero is holding back the visual novels etc too. I'm not really sure what the fuck you are complaining, those games have 4-5 fuckable girls in them for a reason you know, even in the "plotges". The plot is just the flavor of it, in the end almost all of them are the same thing at their root.

The industry is based on that, you may eating it just for the flavor's taste, but in the end its still the same meal. Look at the island's sales for example, they tried to sell seasoning without the meal itself, and it didnt even sell 1/20 of the Senren Banka.

What I "realized" there is the fact the VN community is a heterogeneous mixture of readers and non-readers. In simpler not entirely equivalent words, that some people enjoy the process of reading and others don't. I wasn't trying to say there intelligent people who appreciate plots and dumb people who don't (like >>15925708 seems to be), rather that the process of reading itself, of reading stories, is something that not visual novel *readers* enjoy. There are people *reading* despite not liking it, as a means to an end. I don't think movies has a comparable phenomenon. The act of watching movies is basically just looking, it doesn't have a verb on it's own, and thus I don't think there are people watching movies who like looking and those who don't like looking.

That was just Frontwing being weird. I dunno why they released it only on PC with a not voiced protagonist. You don't do that for this kind of game. And done with Busou Shoujotai BladeBriders. Gameplay was pretty nice, though the last boss was pretty much just a crappy RNG check. That could've been done better, especially as the game is otherwise a pretty damn good fire emblem esque game.

Story unfortunately falls apart later on. It's mostly comedy, but at times thinks it can be all serious which just seems silly. Like imagine a mostly comedic story with some silly enemies you mosty can't take serious, and then you randomly get to know one of the heroines got abused as a child and subjected with experiments and drugs and shit. It's clashing. So fucking hard. Not like it's actually really relevant. It's just there.. because you need drama or something. The final two chapters were then really terrible story-wise, but what can you do. Overall it was still a pretty fun Alice-Soft game.

>> No.15928489

>>15928461

I wouldn't say it was necessarily too hard. It was just literally an rng check. The boss had enough range so it could always counter. You have absolutely no terrain to work with. So all you can do is attack the boss with the best stuff you have. If rng hates you, you have to reset as the battle has a turn-limit and spawns adds that try to destroy your base, so you have to deal with them as well.

Most of the game actually had pretty tactical combat. Where to go with which characters. Build the right buildings at the right places. And so on. The final battle however just makes things into a simple brawl which is just kinda anticlimatic. I feel like the last boss/climaxt should once again take everything you have learned over the course of the game. And here it pretty much removes everything. In fact the boss battle of the chapter before felt way more suited as an overall final battle.
