Nobody is killed when it comes to danmaku BUT it is certainly possible to die; people are not killed when they die.

Youkai try not to eat the humans of Gensokyo for several reasons that I shall outline for you:

1. Spellcard rules state that if you beat a human in a battle then you are not allowed to eat/kill them.
2. Gensokyo is based off of balance. If the youkai ate all the humans then it would throw off this balance and bad things will happen.
3. There are humans who have jobs as youkai hunters in Gensokyo. Notable youkai hunters are Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame.
4. Whenever they want to eat humans they tend to go after humans from the outside world. Not in Gensokyo as humans in Gensokyo can put up an actual fight or if they know they can't win, know when to run.

Due to her considerable skill as a youkai hunter since the establishment of the Spell Card rules, she's shamelessly flaunted her showy magic abilities any chance she gets.

Since she acts as a youkai hunter almost as a competitor to the shrine maiden, they are often following the same targets.

Her other occupation is as a common burglar. She seems to get more excited about it than being a jack-of-all-trades. Her motto is, rush in from the front fair and square, and take what you want whilst proclaiming "I'll just borrow this!"

Both would've erupted Gensokyo into full-scale combat against either itself or a nigh-unstoppable opponent dead-set on BURNING THE WORLD.

There was a little talk along those lines on /k/ a while back.

The main male argument was RAAAAAAAAAAH FUCK FUCK FUCK STUPID WHORE RAPE FUCK RAGE FUCK RAPE FUCK RAGE COCK RAGE MARS AND TESTOSTERONE RAPE RAAAAAAAAAH.
The main female argument was just letting the boys play war, giving the silent treatment, and, simply not giving a fuck.

In short, all we can learn from this is both men and women completely lack the ability to reason. Only expesssing it in different ways.

No OP, the reason there's not big war in Gensokyo is because it would piss Reimu off, and no one is that eager to die.
