If you're not already familiar there used to be some DotS thread and there's a steam group called "/jp/ DotS" that plays(I still think they do) DotS, sadly the group has become quite the circlejerk with a inner clique with a few people flaming and is in general really unmannered.

I'd say a bigger factor that contributed to the end of jaypee DoTS was the people who would sperg out whenever they were losing. They would say very mean and discouraging things. Jaypeedots is for cuties and friends, not bullies.

I was saying that in most of the old DotS threads, those people who sperged and flaming was part of the group that played the most, so every time there was a /jpdots/ game those people would play.
But the inner clique defended them saying "Just ignore and mute them" instead of actually dealing with the problem and banning them from the games. I think thanks to the tryharding atmosphere and people flaming and being mean no new players wanted to join in. Because what's the point of doing a /jpdots/ group if it just turned out to be even worse than your random pug game?

I can agree with a lot of this. A certain person that I will not name that regulared would always yell at people and totally ruin the game. And the "inner clique" of regulars weren't all best buddies, they were just jpsies who liked to play the game a lot. There was no conspiracy for or against anyone.

Honestly the main reason I left wasn't lack of content, but because the same guy would ruin almost every game. I had him muted, but that didn't help when he convinced the rest of my team to abandon. That's where I agree with you a lot. All it takes is one sperg to ruin a game.

The reason the /jpdots/ group even started in the first place was because most of the people wanting to play was new and wanted a more relaxing and comfy atmosphere, but if someone goes against exactly all this(which he did) there's really no reason for him to even play in the group but he fits more in a pub game.
As you can see in this thread thanks to that guy there's probably a lot of people that do not wish to play with the /jp/ group, this is solely because of 1 guy mind you. Then he obviously does not belong and should probably not be invited to play in these games.
But the so called "circlejerk or inner clique" enjoyed playing with him so nothing was done, they slowly became what they first hated from the start, "your avarage tryharding flaming pub DotS game."

You can't bring a Nazi to a commie party and expect thing to turn out ok, but this is exactly what happened to the DotS group and the reason why it died.

There has been about 6 new items and multiple patches since the yuuka days,including broken tooltips, a MKB that boosts your damage output by 16%, an OP single target healing star that heals based on your mana pool, a crossbow that increases range on ranged units by 175 units, a cross item that gives you 100% evasion for 7 seconds,upgraded precious thing and a byakuren scroll thing that locks an enemy in place for 4 seconds or so whilst boosting your attack speed.

These new items are quite an interesting game changer and I'd recommend making a custom game with cheats enabled to test them out.

She already is a melee tank (carry) though.
Her ult makes a percentage of her max mana into her max hp pool and gives a lifesteal effect when you hit stuff with the aoe it adds.

She also has a melee ranged high damage stun, a UFO "x marks the spot" skill and another that smites your opponent for heavy damage at the cost of your mana.

Seems pretty melee tank to me,she can easily reach 4k hp and is very hard to stop once she buys her core items.

Most of my friends I'm bringing with me don't really get the game yet (me neither) and the broken tooltips don't help with getting new people to learn, so while we learn we're just sharing the same channel on both teams to talk. You should probably be up for that kind of comfy casual atmosphere if you join me sometime

I know the guy who hosted and he said he stopped because of just this type of behavior. The rampant toxicity that you can find in regular dota 2 games made it to dots and he had enough. Each day the /jp/dots dota 2 channel was just filled with constant toxic behavior.

Plus, it was already bad enough when we last played. Sometimes people would join the game and feed on purpose and just leave. Other times people would just wait for the lobby to get to 9/10 to join just so they can disconnect after loading. Then people just started locking in the "OP" heroes and "high-tier" touhous that were decided on from the steam groups tier list. The game just stopped being fun.

You must not have played that often because the guy everyone hates is actually very friendly and he even goes out of his way to host games quite a bit. This one time we even had a meme impersonation contest over the mic in-game and everyone else on the team found it funny. I hear he even joined the discord channel.

Problem with any tanky character in DotS is that hi-tech camera exists. Just slap that on literally any character to render touhous that relie on massive HP pools useless.

The game would be so much better if camera wasn't a thing because then tanky heroes wouldn't stop being tanky halfway through the game.

well there's three forms, Splitshot, splash, cleave.
Cleave is a cone (half circle more like) infront of you towards the target.
Splash is around the target, so koishi wouldnt hit someone 500 yards behind her.
Splitshot fires a couple of projectiles within 500-600 yards or something similar.
and yes i meant she should use cleave in melee form.

Fun fact: she is infact ranged in her melee form, as seen by her gaining range from the new crossbow that increases range.

Can someone tell me what the fuck Alice's skills do?
I have a rough idea but her D skill confuses the fuck out of me, I get mana back and some stacks that decide how many dolls I can have out at once?
why is there no fucking tool tips.

Her D recalls all the dolls she has out (except for the goliath doll) and gives Alice some mana back for each recalled doll.

The stacks you "get" are simply reflecting how many more dolls you can place. The doll count gets higher with levels, I think.

First skill is a line nuke that knocks back units hit.
Second is a laser nuke.
Third summons a controllable doll that gets stronger and more abilities as you level it up.
Her D works pretty much just as you describe.
Her ult orders any dolls currently out to run to the target location and explode.
There are no tooltips because China.

She has special mechanic with dolls just as you say, where you start with 3(?) and get 1 extra doll every second lvl or something like that.
Her q launches 3 dolls in a line that pushes back and damages.
Her w launches 3 dolls that shoot laser beams towards the target location.
if you target close they all fire at same spot while if you fire at long range they all shoot in a straight line.
her e launches a big doll will try to use its own abilities automatically at first, but it requires micro after that to use at its fullest. (very op ability)
D is just as you say, return the dolls and gain back mana.
and her r turns all small dolls in 1000 range intosuicide bombers, the trick here is that you dont have to use it in combat, you can stack up 9-12 dolls before battle and have them all run in at once.
they do not blow up until they reach an enemy target, so you can control where they run.

She is very strong midgame hero and is best played mid, as she requires no items to blow up the whole enemy team with low downtime.

No, newer people showed up. They were mean, yell at team mates, and were tryhards. The point of this group was for it to be light-hearted, for beginner and intermediate players and to not be serious in any sense of the word. Just a fun time with fellow jaypee's. Well, this is just what I saw in game. Her boat seems to do a splash effect when it crashes and most importantly. Her vortex is a lot faster. Its like a mini-blackhole that puts sets up the enemy team for you. It's actually very useful now.
