Can Netflix’s ‘Hibana’ spark a revolution in Japanese TV?

>With the recent announcements made by both Netflix Japan and Amazon Japan that they will be putting out original locally made content, the country seems to be moving further into the age of internet-based TV. And it appears that the team at Netflix could be one step ahead with the recent release of its latest homegrown show.

>“Hibana” (“Spark”) became available to stream via the service on June 3, and the title is currently available in 190 countries and territories — a first for Netflix Japan — and subtitled in 19 languages, with the ultimate aim to have that number reach 24. The 10-episode drama is based on the Akutagawa Prize-winning novel by comedian Naoki Matayoshi, which has sold more than 2.5 million copies, and Netflix is hopeful for a high viewer count both at home and abroad.

I haven't watch much j-drama, but the first one I ever saw was Kisarazu cat's eye, and I loved it so much I watched it 2 it 3 times. Then I saw another one about this tiny teacher lady who was actually the heir to a yakuza family, don't remember the name but it was also pretty good.
Does anyone of you know a drama kind of like Kisarazu cat's eye?

Any well-acted detective j-dorama with good mysteries?

I watched:
- Trick: First few episodes are really funny. It gets boring later on. Mysteries and tricks are ok. Just watched season 1. Heard season 2 is not so great.
- Maou: Few good actors. Especially the detective guy is pretty bad actor. Mysteries are not great, too much coincidence.

Really watched Keizoku 2: SPEC - it was an unexpectedly refreshing amount of weird, fun and drama,
and Mondai no Aru Restaurant - non-romantic friendship building gives me comfy feels.
(I'm also kind of in love with these more tough female leads)
Anyone also enjoy these and have any recommendations?

Ah yeah I did manage to hunt them down and watch them all! From memory, the SP and first (and possibly second) movie were quite fun but the last felt like they were trying too hard for something too serious abd epic?? And glossed over some chara development in the process so that some "emotional" bits had less of an impact/felt forced.

I'm really having trouble finding good coming of life dramas. Feels like I have watched all of the good ones and dramas over the past 7-8 years haven't been living up to the old shows.

Is there any good drama like this? I do enjoy the school setting, doesn't have to be high-school college is good too.

Just finished Nietzsche-Sensei, probably the funniest thing I've seen in years. The actors were so genuinely funny and having fun with what they were doing it was almost improv.

Anyone know another good dorama comedy that's come out in the past 2 years?

Is there like a "you gotta see these" list?

Of the few I've watched, my favorite is probably My Boss My Hero if that helps with recommendations. Mondai no Aru Restaurant was great too.

Though I'd like something more serious.
I just don't know what's good.
