I'd say no. It's the same case here. More people having access to a song would result in a lower clear rate since older songs are dirt cheap compared to new ones.

The 2 tenkaichi songs are accurate though. Both are tough 15s with a 50%ish clear rate. Also you don't even need to buy those 2 songs at all.

The rar is compressed by a korean person so you need to run your computer under korean locale for a bit to unzip it or else most of the folders are gonna be fucking gibberish.

Also look into and install GLassist. There's a guide on reddit to install it if you're computer illiterate and I highly recommend it because the reason why you're probably having issues is that the songs you've downloaded are probably rated on a different scale.

A 1 in the insane scale is equal to about 12.3 on the normal scale. So you're probably clicking on songs that are listed 1-2 but are actually 12. GLassist creates a folder for you that sorts all these songs to their respective scale. This is also better than trying to actually open up the 50GB folder ingame which will absolutely freeze your game for like 15 seconds every time you try.

Hey man, I feel ya; I have pretty bad OCD and Tourettes, yet my favorite games are all stuff like shmups and rhythm games. Kind of a cruel irony.

If it's any consolation, these games are all about practicing and practicing until you get that one perfect credit.

You'll always have another shot at doing well on a song, and even if you're at an inherent disadvantage because you just *have* to suddenly splay your hands all over the controller/keyboard or *have* to double tap a given key during a really dense note pattern (this happens so often it isn't funny), if you build up enough skill you can compensate for it.

Keep trying kohai; even if you can't get rid of any compulsions that screw you up time to time, the better you get at the game, the better you'll be able to compensate for any mistakes you make because of them.

I still can't go one song without suddenly splaying my hands all over the keyboard and fucking up the combo, but I can still do pretty decent on 8 charts, and I'm continuing to improve.

It's not just that I can't pass a single iidx song-- I can't read them at all. It feels like my brain can't even process the notes.

It's completely my fault, of course, because I started my rhythm game "career" just playing osu standard. I'm pretty good at it, too, but its skills don't transfer over to literally any other game. I'm not used to scrolling notes, and I'm definitely not used to having to hit more than one note at a time. But I can play easy mania songs, so I figured that was the simplest way to progress. Speaking of goofy, hypothetical rhythm games, I had a dream a few night ago about a WAY too complicated game that basically was a amalgamation of several different ones.

I made a mock up of the controller and UI for example. I'll explain a few things.

The 3 horizontal buttons and 6 vertical buttons are those from IIDX.

The top 3 are a crossover type deal. They control that green line, which is always in the middle, left, or right.
The bottom 6 are basically just 1 row, 6 key IIDX, they obvious do the 6 lanes and grey notes.

Between them in is a Chuunithm style touch pad. they control the yellow and purple whatever the fuck word you'd use to describe them. Each half is only that one color but they can work together to form a solid line/shape.

Then finally the most interesting part. The knobs. Very similar to SDVX but with an Otoiroha twist. The lasers move in three dimensions. I tried my best to illustrate this.
And the knobs are basically joysticks so it's like a flight simulator or something.

Pretty fucking silly. But I'd play it.

Also, I only had all this shit in the UI at once to illustrate it, in an actual song you won't be doing everything at once like shown.

I actually had a dream for a flight simulator based game

it looks like such

Kind of hard to explain but basically you hit the corresponding buttons, so it's kind of like washing machines, but the center red thing is a flight stick and occasionally the entire "tunnel" that you're traveling down will pitch up or down or do barrel rolls and you'll have to push the stick in that direction while still hitting buttons or something.

It's basically a ripoff of several ripoffs.

I have an idea for a arcade rhythm lightgun game where you dual-wield lightguns and have to shoot markers at the right moment as they appear on screen; you would be scored based on timing and how close to the center you hit the markers.

Also you could have hold markers where you keep one gun on a target while shooting others with the free gun, you could have markers that require a specific gun (or both at once), and of course there would be streams of markers you have to shoot in rapid succession

It just happens to some people more than others. I sweat like crazy when I'm at the arcade, I usually bring one or more towels and drink lots of water. I do play DDR a lot though so that doesn't help.

yeah it's horrible i'd probably kill myself if there weren't a new r1 location opening this year 10 minutes from my house

Genetics. It's kind of awful and you end up having to carry a towel everywhere to wipe up your hand sweat.

It's not even a thing that happens when I'm tense or anything, I'm sweating all over the keyboard right now and it's not even hot out.

Same here. Playing many 14-15s in Museca in a row gets me drenched. Fortunately sweaty hands doesn't affect that game as much as SDVX or IIDX.

If it gets too much I'll just sit in front of a fan for like 10 minutes.

i would kill for a R1 to open nearby but my state is fucking barren so itll probably never happen

this sweat talk is really gross!

anybodys feet or ankles get sore while playing?

im not tall, just 5'9 but i have to bend my knees to play sdvx and iidx comfortably. i usually end up wirh one of my feet feeling real bad after playing a few sets

also, where do people rest their foot for the pedal in museca? its so sensitive you cant reall have your foot above it or else your balancing on one foot. also, keeping my heel on the ground toe on the pedal really doesnt feel good

i usually only stand up for this long at cons, im not prepared

If you've played drummania you'd know it's ok to leave your foot down on the pedal.

with that it's easy ti rest it above since youre sitting! the problem is that resting it on the pedal only leaved you 1 foot to stand on

Is there a video of someone taking apart an SDVX Sanwa button? I'm curious about the inside of it (how they stabilise the button itself).

Has anyone else had a problem with IIDX PS2 games where they'll let you play 1-2 songs, then the next time you start a song, the game hangs on the "displaying the song name and letting you set-up hispeed and lanecover" screen.
