I like him as a character and subversion of the archetype. He's an old cop who doesn't really play by the rules but still follows them. Old cops are usually rigid while it's the young cops that break the rules.

I remember awhile back someone criticizing that anime is idealized to a large degree, with how bland or perfect characters are, and how there aren't really any fat people. Other than that girl from the LWA movie who was fat because her character is that she only eats, most characters are not fat or overweight without it being a joke or them being a father.


Oishi is the perfect representation of that. He's his own character, somewhat overweight but still in shape and strong, and it doesn't have any overtly stereotypical points about who he is as a character.

God I love Ryukishi as a writer.

No. Come on man, he's a doctor. He uses doctor equipment! Imagine every tool used in the medical world as his weapons. You have to build him up as though you're a kid making the ultimate badass, that's how Ryukishi would do it.

His main weapon is a scalpel; the deadliest and sharpest weapon of all. Imagine him blocking one of those magic swords with his little blade, with perfect accuracy and precision. A single cut will make you bleed eternally and cuts directly into the bone.

Other weapons include bandages as ropes, syringes that drain blood, laughing gas that work as smoke bombs and makes everyone laugh for a bit. Acupuncture needles that stop his enemies in their track. Medicine vitamins and sticky bandages can stop bleeding immediately.

His main hand to hand fighting style involves chiropracty, where any touch of the body dislocates the bone. Touching pressure points similar to Kenshiro also stops his enemies.

Other than Kinzo, I just had a thought that Clair could have been a really cool character.
Her attacks could be various specific moments from the gameboards popping out of kakera. Like for example a fragment appears and the scene where Eva shoots battler at the end of episode 3 is reflected in it, and the gun fires at the opponent. It could use both magical scenes and what happened in reality as well. She could also use her sword and her meta special could be the bomb exploding the island.

Okay, so I finally finished my newest animation.I wanted to try out some new ideas, and since Shannon is one of the easiest to edit I decided to go with her rather than Beatrice.

I tried to animate expressions, breast grabbing, and hardening nipples in addition to the basic jumping bounce.

The gif ended up being to large to post here (about 8 mb from slightly over 70 frames) so I converted it to a webm. I'm not sure how well that will work out so I also posted the original gif here

Bernkastel is born out of all the negative memories collected by Hanyuu to give Rika a higher fighting chance. Although this was done to help Rika, it had a secondary objective which was to accumulate so that it might form another personality within the borders of the meta and the real world, so that Hanyuu could have a friend to talk to. This is also shown in the manga when Rika talks to a Rika lookalike who doesn't seem to have a name for herself.
In Rei, Rika gets into an accident and wakes up in an alternate world. Rika realizes that her accumulated jumping kakera and 100 year journey has made her different from the original Rika from where she began. She names herself Furuderika Bernkastel, based off the wine she keeps drinking. After Rika figures a way out, Hanyuu tells her that it was all a dream and that she now has a new friend, but refuses to say who it is.

One thing to consider is that Rei's world is not an alternate world but actually a dream. While Hanyuu emphasis and pushy reply makes the reader think that perhaps it was real, there is a single element outside of the catbox that changes all variables, namely that Rika was not the 8th generational birth but the 9th. Meaning that 9 generations ago in the Furude family leniage, someone ended up being a girl instead of a guy. This far change is not something that could have been changed within the gameboard catbox, like Featherine helping Miyo at the beginning of the story.

Secondly, Hanyuu was bored. For 1000 years, she had no one to talk to and then tragedy happened to Rika. Hanyuu had to suffer being bullied for 1000 years and didn't want Rika to die because it would condemn Hanyuu to a torture of solitude for eternity. So Hanyuu collected the negative memories of Rika into a being we now know as Bernkastel, but who didn't have a name. During the events of Rei, Rika named her jumping kakera personality Furuderika Bernkastel and then later accepted that she only had one life and should cherish it. This created the disconnect between Rika who jumps kakera and Rika who accepted her one life.
Bernkastel is essentially the worst parts of Rika who never got a happy ending and resents Rika for being happy. Bernkastel broke out of her confinement by Featherine and traveled the meta to destroy any hope she could find.

The first Season starts weak until the midpoint where the mini boss gets defeated and the real first boss shows up. Then it keeps being good until the mid point of Last Season.
Season 3 is arguably as great as ep 5 of Umineko and ep 6 of Hgiurashi.

The way I remember it is that every time a Rika gets murdered they get shunted into a the original Rika that Hanyuu pulled out of the original fragment, and a copy of that Rika overwrites the Rikas in the worlds she 'jumps' to, and the original Rika became Bernkastel when she realized that since the last Rika never got murdered, she (the template) could never escape her fate and she got all emo over it and then Featherine taught her Being a Cunt 101.
