so /jp/ there's jobs in japan being offered at my school, but the courses are $200 / monthly and im a poorfag so are there any good and free ways of learning japanese?

To give a serious answer, here's what I did.

First, make a plan and stick to it. Learn Hiragana. Then Katakana. Then learn Hiragana again, then Katakana again.

That should take about a week each. Quiz yourself at the end. If you mess up once, spend another week on the alphabet you messed up. Download Rikaichan. Download Anki. Download decks you think will help you.

Use them. Delete decks you aren't having fun with.

Go to 2 chan. Turn Rikaichan on and use it to read kanji. Keep reading 2chan on random boards until you start noticing patterns.

Watch youtube videos that feature Japanese language, preferably songs with subtitles. Pause during each set of lyrics and try to pick out the Japanese words from the subtitles.

After about a year, you should make a new plan, using your own judgment on how far you've progressed and how much further you need to go. Good luck!

thank you very much anon, that's what i kindad did with learning english and i believe it worked ok, but hiragana and katakana look so aggresive and intimidating at first, i guess ill use your method as well anon
