As an example, I'm playing through Dungeon Travelers 2 and a name like "Connette" is pronounced "Co-nett-o".

But for real here, Cirno is actually meant to be Chillno. The Japanese pronuciation turns that into Chiruno, which translations fucked and turned into Cirno.

This fits much more with the naming convention of all the other fairies, who always have cutesy English names that describe what they represent: Sunny Dew, Luna Child, Star Sapphire, Lily White, Clownpiece. Chillno makes more sense with this naming theme than Cirno. Daiyousei does not count because she never got an official name (and even then, you could just make her Big/Great Fairy).

Unfortunately Cirno is now so widespread and ingrained in everyone's minds that it can't be changed anymore.
