Certainly, a yukkuri does not perceive the world the way we do.
For example, we know that a yukkuri with its accessory removed is still the same yukkuri. Yukkuris' opinion on the matter vary.

I've recently came up with a theory that they recognize each other by the accessories. If most yukkuri of the given type have exactly the same face (with the exception of the ones that bear scars), that changes significantly with mood and expression, but do have subtle differences in the accessory that remain mostly static, it would make sence to recognize them by that. Or perhaps the accessory contains a magical transponder with ID codes.
An accessory less yukkuri could be seen as a threat, because they are anonymous, and could do anything and escape punishment... well, this particular explanation may be lost on boards like this, but most places don't allow anonymous postings out of fear(often justified) that they'll post spam and ruin everything.

Anyways, back to Alice, the Marisa-doll was designed to fool yukkuri senses and imitate a real Yukkurisa, perhaps it included the magic transponder extracted from a yukkuri if it's needed, or simply anything roughly shaped like a Marisa with a hat of similar design would work. It wasn't designed to fool humans, and so it didn't.

If the identification by accessory is right, Alice saw "an entity wearing a yukkuri Marisa hat" and perceived it as a yukkuri Marisa, and later saw "little things wearing Alice headbands" and perceived them as Alice koyukkuri.

They've changed considerably since then.
