Why don't just show them that spiritualism and materialized faith is also an existing logic? Show them that gods and youkai are real so they will believe in them to keep their existence, then build machines together.

Even Patchouli got it right by saying that everything, even science and spirits, are "magic".

The problem was that Outside technology was a power that humanity built up without aid from supernatural or divine sources. People didn't see a need for worshipping gods or fearing the youkai.

Make technology into something mystical with it's own deities, something that those pesky Kappa specialize in, and it just becomes another form of worship. As the saying goes, sufficiently advanced technology is essentially indistinguishable from magic. Moreover, it's something nobody else in Gensokyo can really offer. If nobody but the Youkai and the more devout Moriya Shrine worshippers really understand this fancy technological mumbo-jumbo, then science is just another magic.

The issue with technology is simple.
Technology can be used by anyone, thats why despite Africa being a shithole, they still know how to use the internet/email (Nigerian princes do anyway) and guns, despite inventing neither.
Look at kids today, plenty of them are always using smartphones. But do they know how they work? Nope. They know the basics, but they dont know how the stuff actually works, and thats the issue with technology you dont need to know such things to use it. Technology can also be replicated, taking power away from the creator, hence all the terrorists and cartels using kalashnikovs.

Technology would only take away from the gods. Kanako is an idiot to think she can change things.
