It means "they are marrying".

In English it's OK because besides meaning "they are having their marriage ceremony right now" it can also mean "they are going to marry in the future", giving the connotation of engagement.

But the same does not apply to Japanese, "they're marrying" means now, so they are now in the church or in the civil registry (or whatever it's called in your lands) having their marriage. You don't use it as an indicator of relationship.

aya (dating/long term relationship, but she always got special treatment from ufa and escapes without punishment since she was their star soloist and she isn't really an idol anymore, but a "artist" now. but the relationship did start while she was still under the demands of being an idol and maintaining that image/persona.)

to a lesser extent mainly because of their age and being brought up in an environment/agency where scandals aren't properly punished/dealt with and may be given the impression that scandals aren't a big deal. basically lack of good judgement because they are/were kids and that they probably got into the business without knowing what they were getting themselves into.

i never said anything about blacklisting or immediate firing. i think i would be perfectly satisfied with a serious, stern warning with spelling out of consequences, especially if it's a first "offense". in the case of dating, i think i would lean towards the "you have to understand that you're an idol and that you have certain obligations to the company and your fans. this is a very serious matter that you need to think over and consider adequately. if you wish to continue breaking the rules/seeing the guy, you are basically telling the agency that you hold the relationship in higher regard than your contract and career as an idol. we can arrange for your graduation if that is truly what you want. if that is not the case, then we ask you to follow the rules and guidelines that have been set. we advise you to end or pause the relationship as long as you remain in your current role/position. future breach of contract or scandals may end in the termination of the contract." approach or something to that effect.
