Not very important, since half the time I fap to HCG sets of games I've never even played.

I can easily fap to just a body. Dislike has less effect than like for personality though.

I would rate my interests accordingly:

1. Voice + Style of talking (seriously)
2. Personality
3. Looks

Assuming I've experienced all 3 of course.
Seriously, when a character has any horrible voice attached to them, I can't do it.

It's only important if I don't like them. I can fap to girls from things I haven't seen/played, but I can't fap to girls I don't like from things I have seen/played.

Personality plays a pretty big role, actually.
If I had to, I guess I could fap to some nameless girl. To be honest though, I'd really prefer to know something about her first.

Also, I consider certain characters strictly off-limits specifically because of their personalities. It's kind of silly, but there you go.

Sort of seconded. I can't fap to Touhou or the Idolmaster characters because I like them, but I can safely fap to this H game I have.

Depends if I know who it is.

Ex: I can't fap to Nana, after watching Elfen Lied; I CAN fap to Freya after playing Final Fantasy IX, etc.

I can't do it to characters I dislike, there are many characters I had quite a few pictures of that I just can't stand anymore after watching the shows they are from.
That's why I like illustrations of original characters where there's just enough clues to figure out the story you'd like to hear.

In 2D, looks are always perfect, so the only features available to make a character stand out are personality and appeal to specific fetishes, so in 2D, personality is king.
In 3D, real beauty is rare, and always worthy of fappage for simply existing. A good personality makes a 3D person a better friend than a sex object (I imagine).
