I would participate but the game refuses to load in window mode for me, and it looks like garbage full screen.

I always try to save up bombs and use them if there's really no way out for me and I'm about to die. But most of the times I end up dying because I think I can avoid bullets without using that bomb... After that I start cursing a lot and blame myself for it ;_;

Failure numero 3. This time it went great until Level 5 where all those damn fairies messed me up again. Mid level Sakuya defeated and had 2 two lives left. Lack of before her third spell card messed me up.

Made some really dumb mistakes early on, should have done China without losing a life, fucked up while dashing for the point of collection (something that's getting to be a bad habit).

EoSD is my worse game. The rest of them I can at least get to the final boss fight without continuing. EoSD just seems to kick my ass though.

The RAGE that it generates when you reach the final spell card with no lives and 3 bombs, but you know that those bombs won't do a god damn thing except keep you alive for about 3 more seconds each..

It's exhilarating.

I've used a continue to get to Remilia before and fuuuuuuuuck, she's the reason that I don't practice EoSD much and play the other games instead. That and the graphics/gameplay, I know it's more dated but I've some to like the little extras you get in the later games.

Except Mountain of Faith, that was kind of odd, it's like EoSD graphics again without bombs (kind of, you have bombs but they just clear the screen and reduce your power, but you can bomb more). Easy as fuck until final stage, then fuuuuuuuck.

/jp/ is not my personal tech help hotline, but I tried running the game for the first time in ages and it insists on running at about 500fps. Ticking "Force 60fps" in custom.exe does nothing. Any ideas?

I had that problem if I tried to run any of the games through a shortcut. So if I want to play them, I have shortcuts to the directory they are in and double click the exe itself.

I also find I have to run EoSD in fullscreen, it doesn't like windowed on mine though all the others are fine.

EoSD is known to have compability issues with certain graphic cards and often times it's not soluble.
Maybe you can try updating the driver? This is what I have seen mostly as advice, because this problem occurs frequently.

I'm pretty sure he meant he lost a life on stage 1, not that he lost the game on stage 1. it's actually pretty easy to get a high graze on stage 1, though, because rumia's last card shoots huge waves of aimed bullets that you can graze really easily.

Icicle Fall is just practice. Once you get used to the speed and frequency of those yellow balls it's really easy to get past it without using a bomb by just hovering in front of her.

Don't you hate it when you end up dying on some easy part and it screws up the whole run. Got through the first three stages without using any of my lives and bombs to die to Koakuma, of all things. Dying a few more times than necessary at Sakuya and finally giving the ghost at mid-boss Sakuya.

Also, I'm not proclaiming to be some Touhou god (I can only finish EoSD and PoFV on normal, the rest on easy) but anyone having trouble before getting to the latter stages is doing it wrong. You should be getting 1 or 2 extra lives per stage, getting through them should be a breeze.

Well, now on default. I kinda missed the sakuya 1up drop, and against all odds I captured Red Magic....my score still sucks since I jumped the gun a lot.

Also, tip for misdirection. Don't fucking move. Stand perfectly still while she fires her first wave, then move slightly to the left or right. Do the same for the knives. You won't get hit, but you might have a problem getting the final blow in without bombing.

misdirection is actually kind of a joke! every single bullet is aimed directly at you, so you pretty much just have to tap slightly in one direction or another to dodge everything. sakuya just moves in one direction and then teleports off to the other, so it's not hard to predict which way you need to move in order to capture the card.
