I don't like Japanese culture because it's Japanese, I like it because it mostly meshes with my own opinions. I'm an egalitarian (one of those who stopped calling himself a feminist after SJWs started to hijack the expression to mean "frothing anarcho-socialist tranzwomÿn misandrist"), and I feel that Japanese society, while it's always handled women's rights relatively well for its time compared to other countries, could need a bit more actual equality.
The thing is, there's still a distinct difference between the mild modernization I support and the Western SJW cultism. The moderate feminist movement in Japan, which I fully support, is just the 70's women's rights movement really catching up to Japan after WWII and the Lost Decade kept the country busy with weathering bigger issues. The problem is the boom in Westerners and "Western"-educated (that country is to the west, after all) SJWs who start pushing for trans activism in Japan, when it's becoming more and more obvious that it's a mental illness and playing along with it increases suicide rates and decreases functionality just like any other mental illness. The problem isn't actual Japanese people who're debating social issues among themselves - the problem is Westerners who roll in and start movements in Japan, slinging around Korean-seeded misinformation and misinterpretations of Japanese culture, then draw the racism card as soon as they don't immediately get all their opinions approved.
There are two fronts in this, which shouldn't be mixed up - the native Japanese women's-rights movement, which is generally sane and reasonable, and the frothing Western/Korean SJW wave that in the end mostly attempts to erode Japanese culture and tradition as well as the rights of the Japanese people to decide for themselves.
