for the 29 is unreliable

every small colored line represents a 5% probability (100% / 20 = 5%); the fat red line is their average, the fat black is the official prediction, made strictly with the data available

"perturbations" means "let's introduce a little variation in the data we have now and see what would happen according to the model" --> so, if the colored lines are all together, it means 100% probability, if only 4 lines take a certain direction it means 20% probability (4x5%) for that event to happen (or 80% prob. it will NOT happen)

hope its clear

let's explain this other chart too (this uses JST): upper and lower parts I think they are simple; the middle chart represents how THICK and HIGH in the sky are the clouds in a certain moment, and also how much sunlight they block; it's NOT a representation of their shape or extension; for this, you have to be autistic enough to mix the vertical data with maps like those made by Sat24

>>14916137
Monorail itself is pretty sick, because it can handle super steep grades (~10-12%) and the design makes it virtually impossible to derail. There's also a shitload of cost benefits stemming from the reduced track size. Suspended monorails offer a modest increase in lateral stability (safety margins for force applied to the side of the train are much larger, which can help out in cornering, earthquake safety, and load bearing). A lot of cities have elevated expressways running through or near the downtown core; there is potential to suspend monorails from underneath these as a cost and space saving measure.
The biggest benefit is that they just look dope and modern.

Can someone post the most retro-looking train they have? Railyard photos, too

>>14916477
Yup! Culture's still going strong in the states and parts of Canada. If you're ever watching the yards you'll often see them. Hell, there's jungles (hobo camps) around just about every rail yard in the states. If you ever get the chance, hopping through the Canadian rockies on a good grainer is breathtaking (or so I'm told). I have a trip planned to do just that this summer. Of course, people who ride the rails are literal hobos who're accustomed to lawless violence, so you can get torn to pieces if you don't know what you're doing.

Oh yeah bud! Slack action, the ins and outs of navigating an active yard, potentially getting humped, safe embarking/debarking, not riding suicide... There's a shitload of ways to get yourself killed and crippled just by the act alone. Dealing with other travelers isn't too much of an issue if you're streetwise and good with dealing with the homeless (I'd conjecture that most of us on this board aren't). The burgeoning online community (through the past 10ish years, travelers have been gradually getting access to the internet, so the various forums are continuously growing) has a lot of resources if you're willing to invest the time in it. Virtually every guide recommends that you find a mentor and get them to personally teach you the ins and outs for your first few trips.
