I just started a new char and the ID wizard at vernis has cursed gear that summons monsters. This has been getting me splatted to hell and back, but the last wave spawned in a fire hound, which proceeded to burn the town to the ground. This had the effect of torching the cursed gear that caused all of this, and as a consolation prize, I now have cards and figures for all the uniques in town as well as pic related.

And now I'm off to the forest to dig out clovers and grind for materials to make shoes edible.

A bad parameter for a temporary institution around Yowyn was causing the game to crash, so this has been fixed. If the land had shifted already when you played in 1.52, the facilities would already be gone and this error wouldn't happen. A land shift is guaranteed to happen upon updating to 1.53.

After watching this speedrun (http://www.speedrun.com/Elona_-_The_Eternal_League_of_Nefia#Anything_goes1)), which was about an hour, I've come up with this plan for speedrunning:

Game settings
Set running after to 1 steps, walk speed to 1 wait, and attack interval to 1 wait

Gene file
Monster balls containing allies of your choice. At least one ally should be good for riding
Gear for you. Should boost your HP, protect from curses, protect from thieves, keep you from being stranded, and increase traveling speed.
Gear for pets
Deeds of heirship
Blue capsule drags
50+ blessed potions of descent
Potions of cure corruption
Potions of healer (Jure)
50 scrolls of return
Blessed scrolls of vanish curse
Scrolls of holy light
Lots of hero cheese
Rations
Cursed food
Happy bed
Cold proof and fire proof blankets

Char gen
Race: Something tanky
Class: Warrior
Feats: Ascetic, Kokou, Long distance runner

Guide
1. Quaff all of your potions of descent. Eat hero cheese. Eat cursed food to vomit to get hungry. Get additional feats if desired.
2. Go to the embassy to buy a deed of heirship and deed of shack. Place the shack right above Palmia. Use the deed of heirship to get your other deeds of heirship. Read the deeds of heirship to get everything listed above.
3. Go to your shack and get your items. Use the monster balls. Leave happy bed.
4. Go to Yowyn and learn Detection and Riding from the trainer. Use your skill points to raise detection and riding.
5. Proceed with main quest as normal. Read scrolls of return to quickly get home. Sleep in happy bed or king's bed in Palmia. Equip useful precious items dropped by bosses (Rankis, etc.).

Detection is incredibly important for seeing the hidden passages in dungeons. Without Detection, you are forced to mine, which is extremely slow. The blessed potions of descent give you the skill points to level up Detection. Riding lets you keep up with your pets but is optional. Coupled with hero cheese, the potions of descent also make you very tanky and keep you from wasting time dying. You could consider bringing teleport scrolls and reading them to find the stairs in the dungeons quicker, but this separates you from your pets.

I believe it's possible to beat the game in sub 30 minutes with this strategy. Anyone have suggestions?

You could use teleportation instead of detection, as detection is still kinda time consuming and chancy when you dont have a high level of it. Dimensional move, short teleport, or teleport, or rods, which are pretty abundant.

I don't know what statistics in the game actually causes the sleepy state to occur, but I think it may be related to stamina. As I noticed on my game the more actions I used that burnt through the most stamina (e.g. ensemble, houzanha, sex) rendering my character tired or very tired more often, than resting up until full, would usually cause the sleepy state to occur more frequently.

The problem I have with this list is that I had 5 vendors in my home all invested over 100 before I even crossed over to South Tyris. I certainly wouldn't peg myself as being end game at this point.

The problem I have with both lists in general is how you account for the chaos fort bosses. Those guys are usually harder than the story bosses for their portion of the world. Then you take the gods and they're much much harder than anything the story or the chaos forts have. The list also needs to answer whether this is for people just doing the story or is the list a completionist list where you conquer everything. Also, how do we account for the void? Is there a bottom floor to that place or does it truly go on forever? If it does go on forever wouldn't the things in there eventually become even more scarier than the gods themselves?

There should be an empty altar to convert every quest, will get you like four times or so the piety points. Then use heavy corpses, the heavier they are, the more points you get. Keep them in your 4th-dimension storage space as you collect them (or ice cooler). Big Daddy, Dragon, Tyrannosaurus, etc. corpses are all great. Especially Cloud Monsters that have 100 pt weight.

I started out as a pianist so I had to rely on pets while I would grind farming and performance. But then I changed class and now magic dart is fun.
The new AI system it's a bless for me.

If you find stronger stuff for your character consider giving your pet the hand me downs. The god reward weapons are good for pets They provide decent damage and also provide some resists. Beginning game they're awesome, mid game they're meh as they'll be having to shelve a lot of goodies they find(probably depressing for them), but by end game they're just as good as any race since they probably have been stocking up on flying scrolls and have the means to get more. They just use those scrolls to lighten everything and wear anything they want. Also, if a fairy chooses to go down the wizard path they really don't need much in the way of gear as spells can carry them pretty far. If all else fails, a fairy can hide behind his/her big burly pet until the bully leaves or is a blood smear on the wall.

Thanks. The people in the previous thread had pretty impressive stats too especially that grind god danger zone. I've been putting off grinding normal attributes and dungeon diving and have instead been focusing on growing out my mana attribute. All I've been doing is gardening, shopping for scrolls, and party quests.

For the party quests I usually kill everyone off except named NPCs for their score multipliers. When there's 10 minutes remaining for the party I create a box, spam summon spirit, then use alchemy rain with a love potion to get them added to my score. Since I summon high level spirits they add a lot to that score. I usually make 90k to 100k tickets for each party. I can earn a whole more than this if I summon a god in the mix but that's a rarity due to lack of wishes on my part. I then go to Stoke in South Tyris and trade the tickets for magic fruit.

After I cap my magic attribute I'll begin doing my life attribute. So yeah, the magic fruit is why my mp is in the millions. That and my levels have helped.

It's kinda creepy every time I think about what I'm doing. I go in there, start shooting up the place until the whole ball room is a red mess, then I go about my necromancy raising the spirits of all the people I've killed which I then douse in "happy gas". Had a pretty slow start as a Juere-Warrior, but doesn't come anywhere near as bad as my first Yerles-Warrior whose permanently locked up in karma hell. You're right. I absolutely hate Lomias with a passion. You wake up in a cave thinking that it might of been Lomias that saved you from the ship wreck but the truth is it was a cave hermit. You woke up at just the right time because if you hadn't Lomias would of made sure you joined the hermit. When you wake up he talks to you about how he's on the run and kinda makes it seem like it was he and the girl that saved you. He then proceeds to feed you the hermit to eliminate any evidence of man slaughter so the vernis inhabitants will think that the hermit died out in the wilderness or had an accident.

You see Lomias was planning to use said hermit cave as a hideout but since you're around you kind of fucked up that plan. You are kind of expected to have to start over until you figure out what you're doing. Most dungeons are not going to cause you the same problem as the Puppy Cave with dropped equipment, since only a few of them have randomized floors every time you use the stairs.

As I said, iirc love potions cap at 100 impress, if the target is already at friend they do absolutely nothing to their impress. Not sure how it works for resurrection, reviving a dead pet a couple of versions ago didn't restore them to the previous relationship if it was high enough, so gaining impress through kill->res was impossible for pets after a certain level.
Not sure if it works differently for npcs or they changed it.

Yes, get performance to at least lv 50. If you get platinum coins, usually rewards from quests you do from the town board, see a trainer and raise the potential to as high as you can. Max is 400%. The more potential behind the skill the easier it is to level it up when you grind the skill. As you level a skill up the potential decreases so it's a fight to spend platinum coins to keep potential high so leveling a skill isn't too hard.

When you level up you get bonus skill points and you can increase skill levels that way too instead of grinding out your skill. In this case, grinding by playing a musical instrument in front of people.

Ensemble is a special action you get once you have 30 in performance and level up. The special action lets you and your pet play music together. In effect, you can start your own band and play around the world! Anyhow, other anon is correct that it makes things easier as your pets performance skill, if they have it, helps out when you play your instrument. So, since you're still in the beginning. For starters, keep in mind you'll probably end up scrapping your first character. Decide your future fighting style. Ranged isn't tied to melee or magic, choose whatever you prefer, just remember to check the wiki for the various differences in range. For example, laser pistols do 100% damage regardless of range, throwing weapons have a bad multiplier at long range, snipers suck at close, etc.
Decide whether you want to heavily use magic in combat or no. Dual wielding, using a shield and using medium/heavy armor penalize you casting chance by a flat, unmodifiable value. Ie: if you plan to use magic dart for long range attacks, don't go with heavy armor and shield.
Pick up traveling asap, it trains speed and randomly increases other skills and attributes.
Do quests from the quest boards in cities, preferably non-combat. Absolutely skip bodyguard and escort quests at low level, you will fail them barring a stroke of luck. Hunting are fine after gaining a few levels, but keep them at green difficulty.

I suggest the Fighter's Guild to begin with, but up to you. The reason you can't hit for shit right now is because you're missing the combat skills:
Tactics, Two Hand, Dual Wield.

Fighter's guild is in Port Kapul. Pick up the strange scientist quest while you're there.

Get Sense Quality. This skill will tell you whether unIDed equipment you find are worth IDing or not. For now only ID items "Great" or higher quality (unless you really need an upgrade for a particular slot).

IDing every item you find is a common mistake for most rookie players and a huge gold sink (given that equipment sells to npc for almost nothing).

I'm probably biased towards a kind of play style, but this is what I would do at your stage, spoilered in case you want to figure it out yourself:

Buy a wild horse at yowyn since you have the riding skill and charisma to spare. The extra speed should make a huge difference during party time and in combat. And yeah, dump stuff. You're Burdened!

Swap your gear when you can for pieces that give PV. Resist to elements are great too, but aren't too important early-game. Swap to your feather hat when you're performing - the hat's really light so you can probably keep it in your inventory.

The next skills you may want to get are gardening, cooking, then sense quality in that order.

Gardening will help you gain more plats to learn more skills. You'll likely fail the first couple, but keep at it. It shouldn't be too bad since you have high weight lifting.

Cooking is important even if you don't have a portable cooking kit yet - cook at food processors in vernis, palmia, derphy, and at kapul, and use sinks or whatever at the other towns. Buy up flour from food vendors - bread doesn't rot, provides stat gains unlike rations, and if you don't eat it you can still use it mid-game in making picnic baskets. It also doesn't clutter up your home once you pickpocket a bread shelf (whatever that's called). Api nuts, healthy leaves, and the hairy testicles also don't rot and weight next to nothing, so have some on you all the time.

Sense quality will help you judge what gear to not bother bringing back to town to identify.

Machine guns are especially good early on, because they have a really good dice roll on damage. They do a minimum of 10 damage, unmodified, so no matter how poo your firearms skill is, you get to do a nice chunk of damage. Also helps if you crit. Other alternatives are magic dart rods (which are helpful against evasive mobs, as it always hits).

you can specifically choose what attributes to grow on the weapon, so its pretty useful for filling in holes in your defense/offense, or just straight up going all in on a good attribute. You can make a living weapon with like 1000 magic resist, or a weapon with 1000 magic damage. Generally, they're also more powerful than alot of static artifacts just due to the sheer amount/magnitude of the modifiers.
