In some cases it is valid. Running TV series, video game studios, and film crews have multiple creative and production staff, so infusion of cash can up the quality, at at the very least the number of good writers and special effects. Cash does always equal quality, but there's no denying it can certainly help. That's probably where the idea comes from.

But it's also true it's not really applicable to Japanese manga and MGE, since those are bottlenecked by a single author. More money doesn't allow them to hire more writers to alternate with, although it can help a bit by getting them assistants, inkers, etc. But the creative is still bottlenecked by the author regardless. The only way more money helps a creative is if it increases his pay to the point he can work full time.

That being said, KC's been pretty half-hearted on the whole selling aspect. I can't imagine MGE makes him enough to equal a part-time job, let alone a full-time one. More money certainly would mean he can spend less time on other jobs and more on MGE.
