I'm a new player and I am currently stuck on 4-4. I have adjusted my fleet according to the branching rules but whenever I get to the node right before the boss node (the node with Wo-class), my destroyers get wrecked and I have to turn back. After getting frustrated with this, I loaded Zuikaku up with fighters and a Saiun, but it didn't help that much.

Is this simply a matter of modernization/leveling? Is there something I'm overlooking like a retard? I've been attempting this for a few days now.

I realized that I did indeed have some equipment fucked up on Haruna. I have since swapped her third gun with the one (shit) radar I have. Also forgot to swap 35.6cm guns with 41cm guns on Kongou. I unfortunately don't have AP Shells, so I just slapped an AA shell on Kongou. But I will place a seaplane in its place if that is the better choice.

It's too bad I won't be able to do hard difficulty on this upcoming event; even if I could grind my HQ level high enough, I don't think my current status would leave me capable of handling it. But what can you do.

Since your ships are low level you'll want to use fit guns so you don't get accuracy penalty. Use 35.6cm guns instead of 41cm guns. Sanshiki also only works on installation bosses (4-5 boss) so equipping it is pointless. You should keep trying to craft AP shells since they are extremely important. Also try seeing if you can complete any quests that reward them.

HQ level doesn't matter for anything except minor difficulty spikes, with the only notable one being 1-5A sub.

Considering the levels of your DDs I'd advise you to abuse 1-5A levelling while you're still below HQ 80. Hi, just unlocked 5-4 and I'm trying to get an efficient setup for leveling CA there.

My current setup is CA/BB/CV/CV/CV/Ooyodo

I went with 3CV because of the AS+ requirement thing but my setup doesn't look very reliable as they get blown the fuck out most of the time at the end of the boss node. Is this normal? I use almost 3 buckets per run which is too costly for me.

Could you suggest a more good setup? I don't want to go back to 3-2. Thanks.
