Spiced cider, cooler temperatures and autumn leaves are the best. Summer just needs to end already.

Yeah! Summer is the worst, autumn and winter are the best. Warming up in the cold is much more satisfying than cooling down in the heat.

/jp/ once again proves that it has surprisingly refined tastes when it manages to put aside its daily bickering.

at last I will be free from my allergies

There's nothing wrong with summer itself, I like heat and plants, it's just my own body and cultural morasses reduce my ability to enjoy it on my own terms. Too many people, too many bugs, too much pollen. But the intensity of the day is a nice contrast to the lazy nights...

Winter has the purest aesthetic in theory, but in practice you get stuff like half-assed snow on a sunny day, or the hideous gray slush of snow on city streets. I view winter like a blank page for a writer- it's mysterious, empty, yet also promising something... then the perfect whiteness is stained and the illusion is broken. I feel like that might be just my own personal feelings on winter, not relatable? I like the dream of winter more than the reality

But Autumn is a great compromise of temperature and aesthetics, and looks nice no matter what because it holds many different facets of beauty. The lingering heat and life of summer, then the golden leaves, harbinger of coming winter. Warm days, but chilly nights. Even the eventual rot and decay, the beauty of ruination. Yes, I think Autumn is my favorite...

Spring can go choke on a million helium bags, don't talk to me about spring, it is a SHIT, a big one, a GRAT one, fuck spring worst season 0/10 would not live on a planet with a tilted axis again

It's more likely that there are a bunch of gods associated with every season and the Akis are just two of them that we happen to fight in MoF. Other seasons might have other gods for their various aspects too.

There's probably a complete jerk hay fever goddess who does nothing other than producing huge clouds of pollen from every flower in Gensokyo during spring. Her danmaku would be nothing but these wonky clipdeath knives and tiny pellets too, and the screen would shake every once in a while to simulate sneezing and kill you out of nowhere.

I don't really get autumn here. It just jumps straight into winter. Also apparently it's already snowed for an hour or so a day ago when I wasn't looking, though it didn't stick. Summers are the best. I'd probably love winter if it lasted only for a few months.

The others would be less powerful on average though. The Akis are able to sweep worship from the human village occasionally. A hay fever goddess wouldn't.

Have a Keats poem to celebrate autumn /jp/:

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.

Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cider-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.

Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,-
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.

I hate Autumn. Summer heat is unpleasant but the damp, dark, and cold winter is much worse, and Autumn is the herald of that unpleasantness, week by week the days getting shorter and colder. Spring is objectively the best season, it's getting warmer and brighter everyday but it hasn't reached summer levels of heat.

Surprised no one mentioned tea, I am not a big fan of making iced tea out of the loose tea that I have and fall is perfect season for enjoying a cup outside. I am really looking forward to spending comfy evenings outside in one of my nice sweaters/coats, drinking some hot tea with a good book in hand. It makes me feel like an old lady sometimes, but it really is the best for reading other than in a recliner covered in blankets, but that's more for winter.
