Why does it have to be revenge? Sakuya may have thought that nothing could stop her because of her ability to stop time but got defeated for the first time after all. After having her life spared (even though she came with killing intent herself) she pleaded loyalty to Remilia. I think that also works with Sakuya's rather proud personality. I really like the vampire hunter theory but I'm 100% against Sakuya bearing any kind of ill intent against Remilia.

I think it's clear that they both trust and like each others, if now Sakuya had any ill intents against Remillia why would she even "act friendly and fake" with Remillia, when Remillia would also obviously know if Sakuya had any ill intents against her.
And in most of her "profile pages" in the games it says that she really enjoys living in the SDM.
So I also think that the "Sakuya is just waiting for a chance at revenge" theory is uncalled for.

The thing I find the most funny about Sakuyas mysterious background is that it's one of the things that makes the character so interesting, and it has also become such a part of her character in the fandom that it would be a little sad if Zun would reveal her background, but at the same time it would also be sad to never know her true story.

Why does everyone think she's lesbian for Remilia? She'd look good with some big strong fella by her side, I think!
