Well now that her outfit is done i think its time to look at were Waffles came from, and what she looks like now.
I felt super bad for her in that ebay image. The $270 price was good though. But besides the kidnapping ebay photo when she came her wig was loose in the bottom of the box. Her left arm had been rotated 360 bunching the body suit into the joint, light stains on the back of her legs and a layer of dust covering her eyes.
Not that i was the best second owner at first. i was going to sell her then take her body and attach a new head. But in the end styling the wig, slightly Moding the face up, glasses, and new cloths and i am super happy with her and i am glad i bought her and kept her.
Also she still wears the shoes her first owner bought for her and sent with her. They had a broken clasp but i had to fix them because they are adorable like her.

I've mentioned this before, but I believe there are two main kinds of male doll owners. So I got into collecting Dollfie Dreams last year, and I love them to death.

My waifu (Haruka Amami) just happens to have a DD. However, I personally find it ugly, as much as it hurts to say something like that about her. I'm just not a fan of the open mouthed look, and even beyond that something just seems "off" about her.

But every day it eats at me just a little that I don't have what I'm sure many would consider the ultimate item of her collection. I have spent easily a thousand on figures, posters, standees. But every time I see pictures of that DD, I feel this tiny twinge of jealousy.

Hello BJD/Doll Thread. I've been lurking and enjoying your photographs for a few months now, and am very excited to be able to post.

I am starting off small with Sherata and her friend Ryunia who have the 1/12 Obitsu body.

The quality on their dragon parts are a little bit disappointing. Aside from visible mold lines the dragon hands don't fit in snugly with the obitsu peg so they fall out if I adjust them too much.

They are really cute and fun to pose.

If you have some clean soft blankets or quilts, wrap them up in a little bundle in them. They'll be super safe and neatly contained until you get to your new home. When I moved, I got a few yards of white fleece and some quilt batting from Walmart and made super quickie bundle bags for mine and laid them between my clothes in my suitcase. Likewise, the more realistic traditional resin-bjd style dolls are produced in multiple countries.

The biggest Japanese doll company is Volks, hands down. Volks' dolls have their own unique style and it's not for everyone. It's a more "classic" bjd look.

The majority of doll companies are in China and Korea. If Soom is what you like, go ahead and get a Soom. Other companies make cool fantasy sculpts as well, if that's what you're going for.

Azone, but they certainly do not look as nice. Azone also doesn't have many (if any) 1/4 (or 1/3 scale children) dolls.

PARABOX, MDD, 2D Dolls, etc. will all cost about the same amount. The best way to save money is buy your doll in parts. Buy a body from Volks USA when its in-stock (cheaper than buying a limited doll or off of Y!JA). Then buy a head either painted (From Y!JA) or buy a heads from Volks USA and commission the faceup.

If you let us know your budget, we can give you some ideas for dolls in your price range, but they likely will not look as good, or even similar to, MDDs.

Another option is 'Lil Fairy, or Azone's 1/6 line of dolls. There are plenty of lolita style dolls to choose from in this lot too.

I eventually removed the eyes, but it took like an hour of gentle pushing and reheating, I don't get why it was so hard, but I guess I just wasn't persistent enough. Still working on the glue, but it's much easier without the eyes.
