I have no problem with that at all for whatever reason he wants it. However I would like to see either the current version of the project files in the open or if not a compile of what has been done so far. Don't want another Kanon on our hands ;_;

Mentioned in the OP that alot of the parts like hints, tutorial, etc have been translated... have they just been translated into a text file or have they already been inserted into the game successfully?

I played this game back when it was first released and I guess it must've been buggy as hell back then or something. Wiggling the mouse around for 15 minutes for 4-5 repetitive frames isn't my idea of fun.
Did that ever get fixed? My first time fumbling around in a girl's panties in a dark movie theater went 10 times quicker than that shit.

So the main thing that leaves apart from the voices is in the in-game text. Has he got a way set up to export the text from the game and import the translated text back in? If so can we get a file with the text that requires translation and any format requirements that must be maintained. Then we can split up the translation work and get it done. Even if he doesn't have a way to import it back in yet we could still translate the text as long as we make sure to keep it split up by line/section as it is in the game.

The fact the whole game is made with flash makes it really easy to modify, it still takes some skill but you can decompile flash programs and edit them to your liking.

Flash can be real handy that way compared to most other things. What you would optimally like to do is replace every Japanese string with a translated English string. However this won't work for everything since the English text maybe to long and may extend out of speech bubbles etc. Hence importing the text could require some tweaks here and there.

Anyways, we need an export of the strings so we can get translating.
